Came here to take someone to the grocery store. Harvest Fare is located in northwest Baltimore in the former Kmart building. The store was well stocked and had an assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables along with meats as well. The service at the deli counter was fast and efficient. The ambiance was cool and as a grocery store should be. The store was clean with staff cleaning up a spill of berries in the produce section within minutes. They do have prices that are good for shoppers looking for a good grocery deal during these times. All in all, I would definitely give this store a visit to stretch those grocery dollars. read more

Went two days ago in the snow to get crab meat because it was on sale. I should have known something was gonna go wrong. The worker in the seafood department was very polite and gave me what I asked for. The store was ok as far as cleanliness. They were low on many items. Here is where the problem lies...... When I went to open the crab meat yesterday it had soooo much water in it. It was like it had been frozen. It didn't even cook right. I was pissed because I had purchased two containers. The sad part is I threw my receipt away. So not like me to get rid of my receipt so soon. I will never purchase crab meat from here again. I only go to this store for the seafood counter. Fish is fresh , various kinds, reasonably priced and they will filet fish if you like. I also purchased frozen fried oysters and shrimp that were average priced. The fish staff were rude but they now have new people who are customer focused. Looks dirty from outside but no problems inside that I noticed. Lots of southern styled foods that you might not find other places. read more

First time shopping here, Fallston location. Among other items, I purchased a beef roast and a pkg. of Ostrowki's polish sausage. Both looked good. Beef roast was red, fresh looking, sausage looked good also. Upon arriving home, I was removing the pkg on the roast to rewrap and freeze, I detected an odor indicating it might not be as fresh as it looked. I cut a portion off and cooked it that day and altho very tough, it tasted ok. Just a slightly strong odor when it was raw. I didn't freeze the sausage as I planned on cooking it with sauerkraut the next day. Same thing when I opened the pkg. of sausage. The appearance of it looked good and fresh, but I detected an odor that I have never smelled when buying this same sausage elsewhere. Since it looked fresh and didn't smell rotten, just a slight unfamiliar odor, I decided to cook it. It is still cooking with sauerkraut so I haven't tasted it yet. I'm hoping it will be ok too, but this will be my first and last visit to Harvest Fare. I have to say that their prices for the most part were much more reasonable that most of the grocery stores, but I won't shop where I cannot trust the freshness of their meats. I like harvest fare a lot I love that they have an East and West Baltimore location. I really dislike parking at both and you can't take the cart to the parking lot so that leaves people doubled parked at the doors all of the time it's a mess. read more

This is one of the newer locations. It's much bigger than the Hamilton location. I can always count on reasonable prices, quality foods, and friendly staff. read more

Worst customer service EVER! I went to grab the crab meat that they had on sale. I got there at 6:40, went to the seafood department and asked the associate behind the counter for 3 cans. He chuckled and said " we close at 7:00 , didn't you know that?" I said " no I didn't" he said " Im cleaning up, you have to come back tomorrow. This made NO SENSE TO ME! If the store closes at 7, I should be able to purchase ANYTHING that is in the store until 6:59 and 60 seconds! I should NOT have to take time out of another day to return to the store because the associate wants to walk out of the door at 7 sharp! I don't usually shop at this store, and only went there because of the crab meat they had on sale. I will NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN!!! read more

i am completely upset with this store!! i brought a ham for thanksgiving here and when i got it put it right in the freezer after purchasing it. when i took it out on wednesday evening and opened the packaging it had mold all over it, then called the store and was told by the associate that they dont take meat back after three days , it had only been 5 days and it was in the freezer from day of purchase, it should not have been molded. i will not shop here again and i am warning everyone do not buy meat out of this store. read more

Nice, clean, well-stocked market which appears to know the tastes of its customer base. The meat and fish departments stand out for variety and reasonable pricing. The frozen food section offers a nice selection of items not found in other stores. In the front of the store they have convenient grab and go lunch items. I really have nothing negative to say about this store. read more

The harvest fare on wabash Avenue is the worst. They keep the gate locked where you bring the carts out to your car. I had a cart full of groceries including cans of dog and cat food and a 13.5 bag of cat food. I asked the security guard that was responding to another senior customer about the locked gate if he could lopen it. He smiled and said no because people steal the carts. I was asking about the policy he told me to ask a manager who happened to be out there and she also said no. Unbelievable I will no longer shop at harvest fare. read more

Pretty ok market. Been to better. One thing I did not like which pissed me off is the seafood department. On this particular day there was a long line (which seems to be almost anytime I go to get fish). Me and my grandfather we patiently wait in line after we took a number. Keep in mind the line is long and there are other elderly people in line before us waiting patiently. This ghetto girl (sorry to describe her like this but it's the only reasonable term I can think of) so she is loud on the phone you can hear her from the front of the store to the back. I kid you not. So she's loud and obnoxious so she sees everyone waiting in line....her remark is "I don't have time for the bullshit" she cuts the whole line off and proceeds to the guy handling the fish. This guy sees she cut the line and helps her. I'm like are you fucking kidding me. I mean I wasn't going to argue with her or him but come on. You have seniors in line whose been patiently waiting. The fish guy could atleast told her "ma'am there is a line you need to wait in". No respect at all. And situations like that makes me not want to visit markets like this. But I guess what else would I expect. read more
