tonight I personally shopped at aldi in Rockford IL on east state street ! about 7 pm ! I loaded my 2- bags of groceries into my hatch . of my csr ! I pressed the button to close my hatch ! when the hatch closed I noticed the inside lights didn't go off as normal ! then I noticed my hatch didn't close completely ! then I realized my handbag I also put down in my hatch of my car so of course my keys were in my hand bag, along with my cell phone !! no entry into my car ! I go to aldi speak with a clerk inside who then notified the store manager of my sad - situation! Now this sweet manager could have said mam we close in 10 minutes you need to wait outside until help arrives ! but not this professional understand kind caring woman said to me ! you may use my personal cell phone ! I didn't honestly know or remember anyone's numbers at that time ! she had to Google my sisters cell phone number for me ! she handed me her cell phone ! it was dinner time of course my sister was eating ! I left her a brief message telling her it was me what I had stupidly done where I was manager of Aldi east state street cell phone number showing up on my sisters cell phone ! I have no phone no keys and no money my blood sugar was dropping everything was locked into my car this manager of aldi grocery store was literally working hard at her job didn't need me bothering her ! but she personally got me a chair asked me to sit down! told me I could stay after the store closed in 10 minutes At 8 pm as scheduled or until help arrived ! my sister calls back please call dealer ship must be secret to unlock door? dealership was closed ! she called locksmith! spinello lockssmith showed up unlocked my car instantly ! I honestly don't think I have ever met a kinder more caring individual in my life ! than this manager of the Aldi store of the east state st store ! she didn't know me ! I had never met her ! but her professionalism ! I was truly shocked by ! her politeness was unmatched! in a horrible situation like I was in that I caused myself you want this delightful, understanding manager to come to your rescue! the - sincere kindness she showed me was unmatched ! knowing my sister would show up to get me out of this situation! of course we are sisters ! but from a total stranger - never expected it ever ! we all could be in uncertain situations today not knowing who to trust or who will help ! she trusted me ! I trusted her ! I am shocked by her behavior, honesty politeness, caring, integrity, I think she's was unbelievably caring to me ! a total stranger ! aldi ! you have a total gem working for you ! you have hired a customer specialist ! who went above and beyond for 1- customer whom she just was being herself too ! I want to thank her ! invite her to dinner on me ! it's the least I can do for a person who took the time to care , worry about me, and my surroundings my situation! I am extremely grateful, thankful and impressed by her actions ! you don't find this caring spirit in people today ! I swear as I waited outside at my beautiful car in aldi's parking lot not 1 single person stop to see if I was alright if I was ok ? if I needed a thing ! but this kind angel came out to check on me in her parking lot ! after speaking with my sister to let me know the locksmith was coming ! I knew my sister was coming that's the kind of person she is ! but this aldi store manager hadn't done enough for me yet ! this is going above and beyond for me a customer, a stranger , a person! unbelievable today ! she deserves a raise, she deserves praise, you have a total gem that works for you ! I can't thank you enough Aldi! or your - manager , total angel you hired ! she totally came through when I needed Her help ! thank you from the bottom of my heart ! this is how Aldi treats people in Rockford IL a city known for crime, criticized for its actions towards people ! I found a true angel where I least expected to ! I humbly thank you Aldi and your store manager how she treats people her kindness is very appreciated ! I hope when I am in a similar situation I do the same for another person as she did for me! I am just a normal person who needed a few groceries and stopped at Aldi to by them ! Would I have been treated the same shopping anywhere else ? I don't know ! Still having a lot of supply issues for really simple and necessary items, especially in their produce department, but other places too. When you check out, they ask if you found everything ok, but if you say you couldn't find everything you needed, they don't (or maybe just can't) do anything to help. So I'm not sure why they ask that every time. Bummed because this is a super convenient location but it's my least favorite Aldi in the area. read more

The store is great! The workers are great! But since gas prices are so high now, truck drivers can't afford to deliver needed supplies to grocery stores. So today when I placed an order to pick up in two hours, over half of the very basic things I needed were not available. And this is only the beginning. Don't get mad at the store. Get mad at those who made a bad choice during the last election. read more

If I were starving I would never go into this store again. It's filthy, the staff are so rude, They expect you to yell across the store if you need help at the self-help checkout. The check-out island was not manned the clerk did not offer to go and open up. A customer had to specifically ask: Can you please open this cashier? When I told the clerk I did not want to yell across the isles she refused to help me. After I verbally asked her to help me she informed me that I needed to use the help button. These uneducated, untrained, and unprofessional staff are by far the worst. When I asked to speak to a manager out came a very young woman who I highly doubted was a manager and would not help me because I said: Here look at this ??? You cannot make this up it's so bad. Why would anyone shop here when Woodmans is right down the road? Oh and 30% of my strawberries were rotten as well after all this Hill Jack Holler environment. Oh, the manager after making me wait helped someone who just yelled out and asked. Contrary to what the clerk told me to do. They better stay at ALDI, Woodmans, or Meijer would never ever subject customers to this mess. read more

We've been going to this Aldi's for several years, and have been finding more and more things we really like and that are good buys. We were there today, and when I checked out I requested $40 cash. The guy in line behind me was talking to me so I failed to notice that I didn't receive my cash until I got home. I went back 2 hours later and confronted the same cashier. He called the manager and she told him to go count his drawer, which he did (by himself).....and claimed it was right on the money. She tried to tell me that I must have put it in a different pocket or something but I most certainly did NOT. This is the 2nd time I haven't received my cash at this Aldi's but the other time I noticed immediately. read more

This is one of my favorite grocery stores. Prices are great and they are always getting new products. The store is clean and well organized. There's often a line but they are good about trying to pull up more cashiers when it's busy. Give it a try! read more
