I stopped by this marketplace when I was in the plaza visiting another store. I was looking to get…read morea quick bite so I thought this grocery store would have something. I found parking easily since I came in the morning and the place wasn't busy. When I walked inside, they have the liqor on the left side of the store. The produce area is right at the entrance. I walked to the deli area on the right side of the market but I didn't see any pre packaged food. So I walked toward the back where the meat was and I didn't find anything there either. They have some fish out on the floor for customers to get themselves. I didn't find any quick bite in the store to get so I didn't purchase anything here.

So after being put on hold a few times and getting disconnected a few times, I finally spoke to a woman, Jennifer, who apologized to me and asked me how could she help me. I told her what I wanted and she said she would talk to Kurt, and then call me back instead of putting me on hold again. Later that day she called me and asked me how many cases did I want and which of the Kendall Jackson's did I want and I told her. Between her and Kurt they ordered the wine for me and said they would call me when it was in which would have been two days. I thanked her so much for her help and kindness. I did get a text message from Kurt that my wine was there and ready to be picked up at the Customer Service desk and it was. I was thrilled with that. I don't shop there very often because I've been shopping at another store for many years and I'm comfortable there. I know the store really well and I'm happy with the relationship I have with quite a lot of the employees including the Store Manager. I will say that I have shopped in this store a few times and they really do have quite the selection. I'm impressed! They have a large section designated for organic products and have just about anything you can imagine. They even have fresh baked sweet bread delivered fresh on a daily basis. If they don't, just ask and they'll try to order the product or a similar one for you. The prices are very affordable for a convenient store. If you're a stickler for cleanliness, this is the destination for you. Pride in ownership definitely shines through. Stop in and see for yourself. They'll welcome you like you were their family. When I was in Ralph's this week, I didn't buy some of my favorites because of the gouge prices. I think the bananas were 80¢ / lb and I balked at the $4 pineapple. But when I went into Moorpark Produce I couldn't believe the SUPER GOUGE prices. I needed some milk, and DID NOT SEE a price tag. Like a percentage of us, I did not look at the price before I casually (habitually) used my phone to pay electronically. When I got home, I noticed that a half gallon was FIVE CLAMS. Thats about 2.8 times Ralph's price for the half gallon. I could have bought Ralph's FULL GALLON for only $4. I felt like such an idiot for not checking the price. I would have left the milk right at the check stand. Not worth the effort to go return the unopened container. But I DID call them and let them know why I'm not going back there. Price gouging may bring some more profits, but I feel in the long run creates a loss of customers and wasted food, from what doesn't sell. The store should be embarrassed. At checkout, an item (a jar of cherry preserves) was added to my purchase that I didn't select, and I was charged $9 for it without realizing until I got home. About a month later, I reviewed my credit card statement and saw that I had also been charged twice for the same grocery purchase. Unfortunately, this experience left me frustrated and hesitant to return. I'd rather make the drive to a larger Middle Eastern market where inventory is more reliable and I feel more confident about the accuracy of my bill.

Here's my list of concerns: COST: I suspect that buying from FTF is similarly priced to buying at Whole Foods, which bums me out, because I want to eat a raw diet, and it's hard to afford, even buying directly from the farm! Why is it as costly as Whole Foods? VARIETY: Although I can remove items I do not want included, I cannot add items (or favorites) to replace the items that I do not want. WHAT I LIKE: What keeps me buying a box every week is the flavor! I guess it is because it was recently picked off a tree or out of the ground. Also, the produce is organic which means it's not as pretty, and often smaller, but it's the real thing and the taste is amazing. COMPETITION: There are several farms in the nearby areas, but they use pesticides ... Underwood Farms is close by, and they claim they do not use pesticides ... their prices are similar, but you can pick it up and choose items. They're truly local. Next I'm buying organic produce from Abundant Harvest - a California co-op that supports California farmers. I will need to pick up my box as opposed to having it delivered, but I don't care about that. The cost seems less than what I've been paying, but I've just signed up and have not received my first box yet ... I'll post an addendum to this after I do.
