The price for this type of quality food is amazing but I wish they had better sitting to eat. They do have tables outside but in this 94 temp, that takes away from the food in my opinion. Meat was dry did not taste like beef, at first I thought meat might be mixed with starch or something did not taste like red meat. Small portions. I stopped in recently and noticed the store looked much emptier than usual. They didn't have several of my regular items in stock, which was disappointing. At checkout, an item (a jar of cherry preserves) was added to my purchase that I didn't select, and I was charged $9 for it without realizing until I got home. About a month later, I reviewed my credit card statement and saw that I had also been charged twice for the same grocery purchase. Unfortunately, this experience left me frustrated and hesitant to return. I'd rather make the drive to a larger Middle Eastern market where inventory is more reliable and I feel more confident about the accuracy of my bill. read more

I have been enjoying this market for more than a decade and I'm surprised I never gave this place props. First time I came, I went for lunch while debriefing from a career changing exam. Sat outside on their cafe seats enjoying a beef cutlet sandwich. Since then I have tried lots of their foods made in house, it is Halal, so fresh and Delicious. Their grilled beef and chicken, variety of stews, different rice dishes and vegetarian options. I will often take their cooked food in the fridge, stock up for a few days, to avoid meal prepping. It's owned by a delightful and friendly family, the wife occasionally will make a variety of condiments ( jams, torshi, etc) and when it's there, I load up. I switched to their shallot dip as replacement for cream cheese and Mayo. They also sell hard to find products,produce, spices, bakery and fresh desserts. Although I've known Diar market for a long time. I shop here very seldomly because this market has very limited ethnic items, it mostly serves the Persian community. Imho, if they had various international goods they would be more successful. Also recently, the first time, I bought some chicken and beef, both had a terrible stench when I got home. I didn't even bother taking it back because of the lack of customer service reviews on Yelp, at least $15 worth of meat went to trash. What a disappointment! It's a shame. I understand it's a small business serving our community however customer service makes it or breaks it! read more

Since my last review, the location has changed owners. Sadly, the customer service has declined due to this change. Also, the produce section has less items than before. They often run out of meat, so I suggest calling ahead to order any meat items in advance. The restaurant continues to serve awesome food. I came here just to get some marinated chicken kabobs and ended up getting more items. Sofia was very nice and attentive. The market is small but very organized. I checked in through Yelp and got 10% off, so I basically got my Tzatziki sauce almost for free. When I got home, I cooked some Basmati rice, grilled the chicken, prepared a salad, and bingo--I had a delicious Persian meal. I will definitely be coming back to this market. The new ownership keeps hiking prices. The prices compared to other stores for same products is so much different that driving the extra 15 minutes is worth it. If thats not bad enough the guy (owner) will increase prices at the register while checking you out. You wont find out unless you double check every single item you bought. Very unethical and deceptive. The food used to be good. But now they cut a lot of corners and the quality reflects it. Youve been warned. Save your money read more

Really liked this place. Friendly employees, interesting food. Then I heard it changed owners. I purchased some baklava and some Persian cookies on Saturday. The baklava was great. The cookies tasted stale. Literally like cardboard made out of flour. I called them up the same day and said the cookies were no good. The woman I spoke to told me to bring them back and they would refund. Three days later (this occurred over the July 4 weekend) I brought in the cookies and told a different woman at the register that the cookies were no good and that the woman on Saturday said they would refund me. I also decided to buy a sandwich, some soup and some incense. She credited me the cost of the cookies. So far so good. While waiting for the sandwich, the woman spoke to a gentleman at the register who I presume was the (new) owner. He told me it wasn't their policy to refund the cookies unless something was wrong with them. I told him they were stale. He said that wasn't a good reason. However, "as a courtesy," he would agree to refund them. Not good customer service, especially because I spent an additional $27 (+ the cost of the cookies). He wasn't gracious or even apologetic. I left with the feeling hmmmm, I may hesitate to come back here. read more

Ive been driving past this place for a while and have been keen to try it. One day I finally did. I wanted to like this place, I was rooting for this place and was hoping it would be a hole in the wall with great food, but it was not to be. The people were friendly but when it came to the food, the rice was bland and the beef kabobs were way too dry. None of the food served comes on a plate as pictured even when ordered for there. I got a small serving of rice and beef kabobs in a styrofoam container hence the lack of pictures. There's not much else to say about it. They do have a market side that sells a variety of persian/middle eastern fare but everything seems a bit overpriced. I took the L on the meal and tried to make myself feel better about this trip by buying a persian ice cream sandwich from the market but even that was a bit overpriced. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be back here anytime soon. read more
