Total scam and fraud. They advertise certain items as great deals then when you go to the store, they say "Oh, we didn't receive that item. Sorry." And won't give you a rain check or an equal items for the same price. This place only sells crap with is a day or 3 away from expiration. And they do the Bait And Switch all the time. In Thousand Oaks (TO), tuck away from hustle and bustle, busy Moore Park blvd was this unique store called Grocery Outlet (GO). We missed it many times after it opened a few years ago. So, this was our first visit there. I'd like to shout out to Mike, the night manager, who was very friendly and helpful. He shared a bit of interesting history of this GO at this TO location. And don't forget to bring a pen. Mike mentioned to write your phone # on your receipt and deposit it in the marked box on your way out. You may be the raffle winner when the store pick your receipt. This store was stocked with more chicharrones than I found in many retail grocers - bbq flavor, regular flavor, hot & spicy flavor, and many different brands! It also stocked with such Asian condiments as wasabi, oyster flavor sauce, fish sauce, all kind of hot sauces, etc. Each store was own by individual franchisee so that you are not allowed to return merchandises bought from Grocery Outlet store from other locations. Legend has it that merchandise's available on each day may be different from day-to-day because GO received from many different vendors weekly. Where else could you buy a Kit Kat cereal (see the pic) for $0.99 but here! There were many items that were on sale for below the market price. We just had to do a little leg work & scavenge around the store to find the best deal! Oh by the way, I forgot to mention the many wine & liquor varieties readily available in the back room of the store! Parking spaces are limited to share among 3 to 5 stores. very dirty. low stock and high prices on everything. one of the worst of the grocery outlets. you can go to any overpriced grocery store to get the same prices. I did find a bargain can of soda I really didn't need and when I checked my receipt I WAS CHARGED 1.20 CRV on two of the cans. I went back just because and the manager acted as if it was no big deal. Like I said no bargains, poor service, one cashier open so EXPECT to wait and look at your receipt. THEY DON"T CARE. read more

I love this grocery outlet so much, it's my number one store I shop here a lot during the week. You have too check out there wine room they have a great selection of wines. Can't get over the prices it's amazing!! The whole store is clean and every department is organized. Alexis is super friendly and always is open to showing me new items. Very talkative about her items and I love see when people enjoy there job (Maybe you'll even get to experience her saying Hi everytime she passed by you she has a very bubbly personality) I enjoy coming in when I can. It's a sad place really. I wish they'd organize themselves better or at least have better customer support. It seems like they have a bunch of upset and angry workers and I'm forced to take my business elsewhere unless I feel like purchasing french fries are my top priority. I really can't blame them. It's a sad area and it really hurts to watch their cashiers treat homeless people like idiots who need to get out of the store quickly probably to meet quota. Probably bad management or workers who shouldn't be employed. It's really hard to say. Also to note: it's very obvious that the cashiers are trained to be told to act and say certain things to keep their jobs. This store is an example of bad management. I came today for the first time! They have a great variety of organic items and natural foods for a nice price. Great selection of vegan meats etc... especially in the freezer section. I started off having a great time, but I noticed you really need to CHECK DATES on their products! I wanted veggie broth and it expired in 8 weeks. That's not cutting it for me, as I like to keep it in my pantry longer than that. Also, as I was checking out I noticed the prices of a few of my items were coming up more expensive!!! So I said something and they corrected it. The small Spectrum brand organic coconut oil said it was $2.99, but that rang up as $5. They said that was the price for it even though I ran back and showed them the tag for it. I didn't appreciate that. The giant one was $5.99 so I just got that one. When I got home I realized it expires in 3 months! I definitely can't use that much coconut oil that fast, so that's going back. I like the store, there are some great bargains. I just didn't have the greatest experience today. I'll go back and try again... when I return my almost expired coconut oil. read more

First of all, I love that I have a local market where I know that I'm helping to support the store's owners who actually live in our community! I also love that they are part of a large chain of independently owned stores with enough buying power to get amazing prices on a huge variety of items. Of course it's also critical that they have all the staples in terms of fresh produce, meat, dairy, bread, etc... Little by little we're buying more and more there, and less at Costco and TJs. Be VERY selective. Don't get frozen fruit! I got 2 small bags. I wish I saw it's a product of CHINA!!! Fruit from China! Whaa?? The strawberries are white, the blueberries are red and there are stems and other junk in there. I wish I saw the berries before I threw them in my smoothie. I should have dug them out. TERRIBLE. Be aware of shelf markings, too. They're often placed under items not included. The owner is really nice and helpful, but some of the staff are nasty. Keep your receipts! read more

Amazing store!! Love going here, prices are well and you always find new things. Wish I remembered her name but she works in the deli area she's very nice young girl. I always look forward to seeing what she puts out everyday. You always find good stuff. She always goes out of her way to make sure customers have enough of what they need. In fact everytime I come in she's filling in they're needs by going to the back of her department and grabbing what they want. You don't see that in other grocery stores, ever. Good customer service. She always says Hi everytime I see her and about ten more times throughout the store. Other employees are very nice too. Owners are super nice as well. Never shop there again. Really bad customer service. I was looking to buy a dark beed from this place. I asked the cashier if he knew where they were located. His exact anwer was "I don't know". He never offered to call another employee that could helpor the store manager. So I went back and to look and found a woman working there who happened to be the owner. I said to her that I am looking for the dark beer and her cashier was clueless. Her response was Im the owner and Im clueless too. In fact I know nothing about beer or where it is. So I guess Im as clueless as him (the cashier). So she called her husband who was supposed to know and the owner made some offhanded crack about that. All they had that they knew of was Guennis and Medelo Negro. At the store in Camarillo, the management there not only know their products. They have an employee that knows that part of the store implicently. Sad this happened. But it is good to let the public know. read more

This store is wonderful and I can't brag about it enough. Multiple times I have shopped here and my groceries are under $30! You can't beat that! I'll also have 2 bottles of wine in that order! The cheese selection, the snacks, the produce, the frozen selection.... I could go on and on but it's phenomenal. Items I would suggest are the cooking oils, the frozen hash browns, the salsa, hummus's and cheeses! Also you have to check out their selection of wines, cheap and such great quality. Went to Grocery Outlet for the first time as it's a new store to me, pretty large selection of items. A lot of great prices, went to check the wine section which is huge!!!! I've shopped there twice now. The carts are new, so that's a plus. I didn't like the "feel" of the store. Seems....well, seems kind of low class to me. Trust me, I'm no snob. I frequently shop at Walmart! I found some items here that were competitively priced. Many items are off-brand, no name labels. If you're into health food or Keto, for example, you won't want to shop here. If you're into fresh sushi or a delicatessen then you have the wrong place. I enjoyed poking around for a few bargains and being on my way. ALDI is across the street and is likely similar as far as shopping experiences go. The main difference is you need a quarter to borrow a shopping cart at ALDI, but it is returned when you return your cart. read more

I shop at this store often - at least once a week, sometimes more. Last Friday, I had the worst experience ever. Manager was unbelieveably rude as was checker Emilesa. If this had been my first visit, there never would be a second. This all started because an item on the ad rang up at $12.99 vs $10.99. I showed the ad on my phone to the manager. Rather than saying "sorry", or "I've seen it". Manager says "get it out of my face"! Then, cashier argues when order comes out at $45 instead of $22. (Rather than deducting the incorrect $12.99, she added it in again along with $10.99). Note, this checker is new and was sweet and polite when she first started. Now in just a couple weeks, she has become rude and obnoxious. I brought a friend along on this visit and she couldn't believe the terrible attitudes of the workers. She will not be back. read more

I am so beyond disgusted and disappointed at the interaction with the older woman who works as a cashier, the miserable one who dresses like a cheap rockstar. I watched her interact with three separate customers with no professionalism, raise her voice at them, and then verbally complain when asked to use a different form of payment. Her coworkers sat by and watched without interruption and there was no manager to be seen. I hope that team has a meeting with their higher ups and get a grip on what customer service is. read more

It has great discounts on berries, seasonal fruits and fresh juices, wholesome breads and cereals, dairy free products you may not find in other stores - Organic Barley milk etc., as well as other convenient merchandise. This store is awesome it should have higher reviews but since it's in TO it's not Boujee enough for the Boujee people that live here. Anyway they have a great selection of stuff that you won't find at like a Ralph's or a Whole Foods and it's way cheaper in cost and the quality is just as good if not better and the store is cleaner than those other chain markets So go there without your shopping list and see what you bring home. If I could give this place 10 stars I would, not only because they have excellent products that you will find at normal stores for twice or sometimes 3 times the price but the staff there make this place a wonderful place to shop. I first found garden of life protein bars, they are normally $30 a case on amazon, the had them for a little over 11 dollars. When I called to see if they had more, Kat answered and said they didn't but took down my number and said she would order some and call me when they arrived. How sweet of her to even offer such an accommodations. A week or so went by and I called again, I spoke to someone else and they said they still didn't have them but asked if this was Trinity and said Kat put a note down to call me if they come in. Talk about excellent customer service! Anyway... Then I met the owner Jorge after getting help from Kat in store while she was showing me great new items she thought I would love, all vegan and gluten free, she was right, I bought and loved all her suggestions. That day I got to meet the owner Jorge... First off, I had to let him know that Kat is beyond helpful and has extensive product knowledge and that all of his other staff are incredibly kind and helpful as well... Anyway, Jorge gave me his card and thanked me for shopping there and told me to email him if there are ever any specific products I am looking for, I told him my dietary restrictions and he said he will look for items that fit the criteria... I thanked him, came in another time and saw him said hello and he showed me a protein bar I may like and told me about others. One I couldn't have but the Verb bars, I certainly could and they are great for a quick pick me up at work... Moving on. The following week I came in and was blown away, They had ordered so many new products and organized the store in a new and unique way for people like me who are always looking for protein and healthy snacks etc against the wall when you come in. They recently got the "think!" bars which are vegan and gluten free. Online they are $23.99 and at Grocery outlet only $2.99 or $3.99 per box. similar to the verb bars that are a box for $28.33 and at Grocery outlet you can get them for $7.00 or so. They have great Whey protein powders ( my husband is not vegan) and so much other good stuff! Silk almond milk is normal around $4 at the grocery store, they have it for $1.99 today they had Silk Oatmilk for $1.49 and I saw it at sprouts, same brand same expiration date today for almost $6. There are so many great products there, you have to go in for yourself because it will take me all day to finish this review! I highly recommend it if you are into getting great products (healthy brands similar to sprouts, Whole Foods, Vons, Ralphs etc) and you want to save $ Of another good one is there vegan gluten free pizza's they Daiya one is on sale at sprouts for over $10 and today I got two at grocery outlet for $3.99 each. Check out their Kombucha prices and massive selection and be sure to grab a celsius sparkling energy drink ( by the frozen foods and register) they are the cheapest there! Have fun shopping and saving money and try to meet Kat and Jorge who are always so helpful and knowledgable! Oh and Terry at the register is wonderful too! This would have been a five but I came across Andra A very very Unfriendly Cashier. who either had a problem with me or just counting change . Unfortunatly for me It was not close to payday so all I had was five dollars in cash and the rest in quarters. as i handed her my money she said in this very nasty witchy toned voice well how much is this instead of saying what i wanted to say " well your the cashier" i told her the amount. then she proceeded to count it out slamming down each dollar down like it was an inconveniance. Maybe she should not work the register. or even work with people. This was my first bad incounter with this store I usually really have an enjoyable time there and every one except her is very friendly.
