I'm not a fan of grocery shopping. My wife buys cane sugar from here I happen to be with her and she wanted to go. The store clean and organized. I found the sugar no problem since I was here and didn't really want to go elsewhere I grabbed Italian bread, English muffins and a jar of bread and pickles I needed for this coming week. The bread was soft and fresh so good there. I liked the pickles also. My wife cashed out while I was wandering around the store. She said cashier was nice. read more

I won't lie, my expectations for this store were not high. I was pleasantly surprised. The prices are low and the quality is good. I especially like the produce section: organic blueberries (yes!), grapes, zucchini, and grape tomatoes; conventional strawberries that are not oversized and actually taste like strawberries. I'm also a fan of the organic black bean chips and canned beans. I can't buy everything I want here but there's enough to like for me to visit weekly. read more

This review is for the store on Big Beaver in Troy. We stopped there yesterday and I will never go into this store again. I shop Aldi's in Clinton Township, so I am and Aldi shopper. The store is dirty, poorly stocked and well lets talk about the staff. Not friendly, unhelpful and no one has taught them a simple "I'm fine" after someone says "Hi, how are you?" Such a poor example of what Aldi's is. I hope that someone high up in Aldi management takes the time to go to this store and see it for themselves. I sometimes end up at this Aldi, but I live closer to the Clawson location so most of the time I end up there. This Tuesday was a crappy day for me and I wanted a cheap frozen pizza for dinner, so I stopped here. I ended up getting a pepperoni garlic bread pizza, which was tasty but too garlicky (which I rarely say!). I also got a CPK knockoff pizza (BBQ chicken) and their faux Girl Scout cookies, which were similar to Samoas. Final price for all three? About $9. I love Aldi. This location is nicer than the Clawson one and the aisles are a bit bigger. I was looking for some frozen egg rolls too but was unable to find them; however, I probably just wasn't looking in the right area. As with all Aldi's, make sure to either pay 25c for a cart or bring your reusable bags. read more

I don't often come here, since they generally don't have the brands I'm looking for. However, they have great deals on sangria bottles for parties. I will definitely come here when I'm hosting a party and need multiple bottles of wine and sangria for my parties. The fruit here can be cheap as well, since I buy apples and oranges for the sangria. The brands here are usually limited and are more generic. They do have some brand items here and there, but it's very sporadic. I generally don't find any products that I would want to hear, unless it has to do with wine or sangria. I feel like the Aldi's in Germany seem to be nicer than the ones in the states and maybe even carry better daily consumptive products. read more

Store manager and cashier were very rude to me when I requested to a purchase using combination credit card and cash. The cashier apparently disregarded my request and put the entire purchase on my card after I had given the clerk cash. An apology would certainly have been in order but instead I somehow was blamed. read more

I just had a not-so-pleasant visit at my local Aldi. I entered the checkout lane and overheard the cashier's rude "customer service" towards the customer who was at the checkout. The cashier said something & then repeated it in a condescending manner. She then asked "yes or no?" again in a rude tone. She then harshly said she had to keep the line moving. The customer was quiet and looked a bit flustered as well. The other customers within hearing distance of this exchange were quiet & looked visibly upset as well, with regards to how abrasive the cashier was. When that customer left, the cashier rang the next customer's items. After that customer, it was our turn. She didn't say hello (not that I expected her to) nor did she say a word until it was time to say the total amount. I just looked at her in disbelief. I tried to locate her name badge but it wasn't visible. The store receipt stated that her name is Angela. Hopefully that is accurate. I've been upset ever since witnessing that checkout lane exchange. I knew I had to inform Aldi somehow, so I decided to share it on Yelp. The customer didn't say anything in regards to the cashier's rude behavior, but I will. It's important to call out this type of behavior so that people understand that it is not ok. I felt for the woman. It's unfortunate how she was treated & makes you wonder how often that cashier is rude and with which customers. We've always experienced and witnessed excellent customer service at Aldi. Aldi is known for that. This store has a beautifully diverse clientele, with various ages and ethnicities that are representative of the surrounding area. We may all speak different languages, but we all have the ability to see & understand when someone is being rude. read more

I love aldi because of how fast and efficient they are. This particular location is my favorite. They borrow a quarter for a shopping cart so make sure you have that handy because a human being can only carry and juggle so much. Bring your plastic bags or boxes whichever you prefer to carry your groceries in. Most of the items here aren't well known brands, their cereals and everything are all new names I've never heard before until I got to Aldi. They have a wide array of healthy, gluten free, sugar free, fat free stuff. Stock up on eggs, bananas, milk, the basic needs. You won't find your exotic fruits and vegetables here but the basic staples you can definitely work with. They use to take cash and debit but now the credit card machines are up and running but no card chip readers(hate those things anyway). Save money at Aldi's. read more

Aldi is the place to shop for hassle-free shopping. Don't be expected to be woo-ed by flashy signage or enticing end caps. This is the grocery store with absolutely no frills...a mecca of brands you won't recognize - but with jaw-dropping low prices. If you're not obsessed with big brands like P&G, Kraft and more, this store is for you! Prices are really low and the items taste pretty darn good in my opinion. This is now my go-to store for random items that I am fine with off-brands for - i.e. baking supplies, select canned goods, bread crumbs, some frozen items and cheeses. However, certain things I am diva-ish about (i.e. mac n' cheese and ketchup), I will not get here. The produce section, although small, is pretty decent. In fact, I'd venture to say it's even better than my local Kroger store quality-wise. They also carry wine and beer, but I haven't been brave enough to try it yet. A few tips: - Your grocery cart costs money to "rent." Bring a quarter to get one out of the corral. - You'll be packing your own groceries, so bring a reusable bag in, or hope you're in luck and can score an extra box lying around. - This is just a place to go for some items, not all. You will still need to supplement with a trip to a different store. - The spirit of the store is to try something new. (i.e. Love string cheese? Try their Fit N' Active line - it's just as good as Frigo and half the cost.) Happy discount shopping! read more

Everyone has the right to have a bad day. But I don't know where to begin here as much as I like ALDI and Trader Joe's; sine they're owned by ALDI Corporate. But I think the cashiers and helpers at this ALDI location must've been rejected from being hired at Trader Joe's; but now I'm starting to question that too because the personalities and willingness to help are just lacking in both this ALDI and Trader Joe's Royal Oak. read more

Went shopping ay Aldi in Troy in Big Beaver. Good store BUT RUDE SHOPPERS. Got a chew out from some guy CLAIMING there was a line. Umm, he was in line for a DIFFERENT lane...i DIDN'T know you had to wait in ANY LINE.. Rude and made me very mad. Was in a great mood til this guy desides he's king of lines.
