The customer service in this store is HORRIBLE! Some of the representatives are extremely RUDE! I feel as if customer service is a thing of the past. The inventory is not the best, they have very few organic produce and are out of several options. The self scan machines are not very user friendly, when you try to weigh your produce it will add it to the bill again and in order to have an item removed you have to wait for a store member to assist ( they are not always available). They need to have cashiers available to those that would prefer them. I used to like shopping at the store and I would go out of my way to go there. I'm done. Clean bright and 30% off vitamins body care and candles through August 1st. Typically visit this location on my way to yoga to get some fresh fruit. During this visit I was looking for a specific item in the vitamin area. The customer service rep was extremely knowledgeable and not only directed me to my item he recommended other items as well. It's a hit or a miss. If Meijer's owns these stores then it should have a more reliable restocking of produce because the quality and selection in this store is subpar. Too many bruised apples; bananas are questionable; soggy greens and slimy leaves. The Deli never has anyone behind the counter to help you; and make sure the deli cuts are up to dates. And once someone shows up; it's like they act as if you're just bothering them when the store isn't even busy. The best thing about Fresh Thyme is the natural over the counter supplements selections and protein powders; plus other natural remedies. Other positives--The seafood selection is pretty good; cheese varieties are quite good; natural cleaning products are nice; frozen plant based products add a nice variety; and the dry breakfast isles is also good. Lastly, I don't buy any peanuts from those large drop down self serving bins because they don't seem sanitary or the section is usually quite messy. read more

I was forced to use the self-checkout because the person working regular check-outs was on break, and they didn't have enough workers to keep that lane open. Then, I was forced to pay for the bags for my purchased items. Dear Fresh Thyme, I refuse to use self-checkouts because I don't work for you. I, also, don't pay extra for bags. Pretty good store to go to, just make sure you're prepared for what they offer (not your typical grocery store). We've come here a few times for different items, mainly produce and meat. Due to the food we prefer to eat, we didn't really care for the gluten free, dairy free or vegan items. Only made the mistake once of trying to buy cheese, Doritos, granola bars, and bread here. They have very different versions of it all and brands you've probably not see advertised or commercials for. Produce and meat though? Absolutely on the money! Plentiful produce for whatever you're looking for and the quality is very good too. Their seafood is our favorite from here because the fish is very good quality for a pretty cheap price. Love this market, so clean and bright. They now have these cute Bubble Teas that are packaged to go. This market has fresh sandwiches, pizza and an assortment of easy dinner meals similar to Hello Fresh. Great location right next to a Tuesday mornings. I picked up some tamales that were on sale for a dollar. I love that they carry vegetable and pork tamales. Nice store. read more

I know I've been here a few times. I went after going to Nino's and having no success finding a few items that I wanted there. I was able to find the Luna protein bars, the key lime flavored Lacroix water I wanted in on sale for a case too, so, I bought 4 cases. We go through these sparkling waters, like the water they are. I was able to find the unsweetened almond milk, vanilla flavor that I wanted as well. I had great success in the store today and didn't need to go to a big box grocery store. They have a lot of their own brand frozen and fresh items. They have specific brands that they carry for cereals as well. It reminds me of Trader Joe's in some respect. They have their own types of ingredients and products that are probably specifically sold here. I'm still glad that they sell the namebrand items that you get at most grocery stores. I did also want a little gas lighter for candles, but they didn't have any, at all. At least I got the basics of what I wanted tonight. No need for further stops. read more

My husband enjoys going grocery shopping early in the mornings. It brings him great joy. However, I was saddened to hear about his negative engagement with the stock guy this morning. My husband was looking at vegetables and the stock guy was putting up produce in the same area. The stock guy asked my husband was he in his way and my husband said, "No, you're good." The stock guy responded, "I wouldn't have moved anyway." My husband ignored his comment and kept looking at the vegetables. The stock guy did not stop there. He further asked, "Do you do instacart or something?" My husband responded "No, I don't." "Well, why are you in here so much? You come in here all of the time." My husband responded, "I like fresh food." and walked away. *We remove ourselves from evil spirited folks.* Fresh Thyme, if you don't want Black people to shop in your stores, just say that. I get ads every week from Fresh Thyme Farmers Market and have been just tossing them. I already have a couple of specialty markets plus Meijer and, of course, Costco so I really wasn't looking for a new place to buy Groceries. But a fellow Yelper had my back and remembered that I'm always looking for good deals on grapefruit for my wife and pointed out a great sale price at Fresh Thyme! So I decided I'd better check it out. I started with their website link from Yelp and found their current ad there in a user friendly format to create your shopping list; I have limited experience using it but am already more impressed with it than the one by Meijer. I found items I was interested including the grapefruit 5# bag for $1.88! The lowest I had paid previously was $2.99 so this was a great deal so I grabbed two! I found similar deals on other citrus and added some navel oranges. The store had a good layout that was simple enough for me to quickly find items on my list, and for a couple things I couldn't find I asked employees who either pointed it out or took me directly to it. Overall it was clean throughout, employees were friendly and helpful, and many items were very competitively priced. Finally, a fellow shopper told me she was happy with the quality of the produce and other things she buys regularly. Then she pointed out that the sale prices run Wednesday through Wednesday meaning on Wednesdays they overlap! I found a lot to like at Fresh Thyme and plan to stop tossing their ads and will definitely be back! read more

We decided to do a fancy NY Eve dinner and wanted to get a nice steak(s) and sides. We came here assuming their meat selection would be better then our local supermarket. We picked 3 NY Strips, some russet potatoes, colored carrots and asparagus for our meal and a bottle of Coppolo Cabernet (which was a few bucks higher here then my usual store). We also got several other items for our pantry / fridge and some stuffed chicken breasts since we were there. We were very happy with the quality of the produce, everything cooked up really well. The steaks not so much. We cooked 2 of them rare and one med rare. They were tough with a lot of gristle on them. We had to really trim each one to get a few decent bites of meat. Really disappointed in the quality. They were $10.99 a pound. We also bought a pound of deli bacon for breakfast which I am now eating. Also not great. Chewy with not a lot of flavor. Made the chicken breasts then next day, equally disappointing. Not a lot of flavor and kind of tough. Just not good quality chicken I guess. Bottom line, not a new destination for us because I can get good veggies at other stores and their meat is not good. read more

So I am very picky about where I shop for groceries. I have always only shopped at WFs and sometimes PJs because I know what is fresh and what's not. I was very hesitant to try this place and I decided to stop by because they had mascarpone cheese when I was in need. I am so glad that I stopped by! This place has replaced my previous grocery stores as they have very similar items. Everything (for the most part) has been very fresh and they have a huge variety of organic products. They remind me of a smaller WFs (in a good way). They have many different types of products and you could find anything that you're looking for. They also sell amazing truffle fries. Like they are to die for. Today I went in for pasta ingredients and was happy to see that they had Rao's pasta sauce and I also purchased 93% organic, grass fed, lean ground beef. I purchased more items, but these were the ones that I was most excited about. That's the only downside, whenever I go in I always buy a lot more than I intended too! Have to update this review ... Fresh Thyme is now one of my favorite grocery stores I frequent. First off, did it really open mid-2015? I can't believe it's been 2.5 years. I stop by Fresh Thyme usually after my zumba classes at LA Fitness across the street. I stopped by at like 8pm the other night and all of the produce was STILL perfectly organized ... I love how neat everything is there. I mostly buy produce and meats here. I bought a value pack of chicken tenders (like chicken breast, but smaller) for only $1.49/lb the other day. I LOVE their flat iron steaks ($4.99/lb.) and frequently search for those. They sometimes have good deals on pork chops, as well. Their meats are all-natural and sometimes even cheaper than Meijer's prices. The other things I like to buy here are the cashew milk (now down to $3.49), because Meijer/Kroger no longer has the kind I like (Silk, original version), as well as these Red's all-natural burritos - try the chicken and sweet potato one, it's great. My only complaint about FT is that I wish they had a larger selection of snack foods - it's 1 aisle, 1 side of the aisle. They also do have an app with coupons, but the coupons are usually nothing that I normally buy. Definitely check out Fresh Thyme if you're in the area! read more

I really like shopping at this store on big beaver rd and John R but I am getting reluctant to go back when ever I go to the lunch meat counter I wait for 5-10 for some one to acknowledge me standing there I can hear them talking off to the side where she can't be seen but the person she's talking to clearly sees me until I have to yell out is anyone here to help?? Then I'm told to go do my shopping and come back to pick up my order I usually forget until I'm home! Now I have a full cart with fruit and vegetables the man is only there to teach me how to scan everything no one else behind me and when I'm nearly done he goes over and opens his register for some one with a few items!!! Fresh Tyme is not pet friendly. . The rudest lady I have ever encountered in a grocery store was rude and condensending. Showed me a small print sign on the door. Kept pointing to it and yelling at me. I can understand the policy. I tried to talk and she kept overtaking me. And walked me out to the small print sign. When I walked in I tried to approach the one gentleman I know is nice to ask of it was ok, however the lady ran to me yelling...made, mame...not going back. Trisha is one unpleasant employee here, the lady that hangs out at the front registers. She will literally hack you when you're checking out after you've been there numerous times knowing you're a paying customer, but will still decide to treat you like you're not and if there's an issue with one of their registers so act like it's your fault when their register is not working. If you have an unpleasant experience with Trisha, I would not be surprised because she always seems very unhappy and does not want to work. There is clearly the vibe that she only gives. read more

I have been to this location multiple times and never have I had an experience like this. I went to the Deli area and there was a gentleman that greeted another customer before me and I had been standing there not acknowledged. The other customer stated that I was even there first and he proceeded to assist her, and was very short and rude with me after assisting the customer. Never did I receive an apology for the behavior/service. I will never shop here again. Customer service in a lot of businesses have went downhill post pandemic. I purchased some salmon marinated in bourbon bbq, it looked really good. Also purchased some salted caramel and sea salt cookies. I'm looking forward to going back. read more

I like this place. Everyone I've encountered has been extremely friendly and willing to help. The produce looks good, I haven't bought any so can't say yes or no. But meat I have. I've had the bacon. My daughter likes their bacon over other grocers in the area. I've also done the stuffed peppers and pork chop. They have tons of options for anyone and everyone. The lines though.. they can be a bit crazy!! I think I was in line for 10-ish minutes awaiting my turn. I love their bulk area for candy and nuts, trail mix, that sort of stuff. I come on double ad Wednesday and make it worth my while. Definitely worth my time. read more

I usually visit during lunch to get lunch & sometimes grocery shop. It's super busy between Noone - 1ish. So avoid if you wanna go in and out. Line is long since there's usually only 2 or 3 cashiers. I usually get the soups, which usually is good, lately the soups with heavy cream in it is looking kinda gross,so avoid. The tuna poke is delicious here if it's fresh from the day, sometimes it sits out too long and gets a little slimy. The meat & seafood here is pretty good quality. Veggies can be a bit expensive for me so I avoid. I love their fresh squeezed orange juice, only last 3/4 days since it's fresh but price is pretty reasonable for being fresh. I like their fresh juices, there's a different selection every week. The snacks made by fresh thyme is also pretty good. My favorite are the yogurt pretzel. Overall this is a good spot to shop at depending on time of day and days to visit. read more

5-star employees helped me through a 1-star experience. The company's website hypes up their bulk section as low-waste, but the employees seemed confused that I wanted to fill up my own containers rather than use the little paper bags. Generally in stores that have bulk, there is somewhere/someone to weigh your containers before filling them. Anthony helped me find the weight of my containers, and a very kind woman with blonde hair (didn't catch her name) helped me find the bin #s of my selections. I would have weighed my containers at home if I had a food scale. Overall it took 4 employees to figure out how to ring up a customer with their own containers- which should be simple in any store with a bulk section- but this is not the employees' faults. I'd love to see the company invest more in training for the bulk bins and making it easier to fill up your own containers. Also everyone working in the store on 8/22/22 should receive a raise just for dealing with me, lol read more

Where has this store been all my life? I am in love. As basically every other review has said, it is a cross between Whole foods and Trader Joes. I got some amazing bargains shopping today, however, I think they are specials for their grand opening and probably not a reflection of their normal prices...but a bargain nonetheless. So I'm perusing the aisles and I see all these people eating cups of ice cream in the store. The first person I see, I think to myself maybe she brought it with her. But after seeing 5-6 people I was like ummmm, hello, I like ice cream!! And then viola!! Ice cream man there you are in the candy aisle giving away free Ashby's ice cream, yeah don't mind if I do! It was delicious, thanks ice cream man! On to the store itself, very spacious and nice layout. Far better selection than local competitors. There were some fantastic deals at the meat counter: $2.99 chicken sausage, $5 for a 2lb of shrimp, $1.59 chicken breast, $2.99 stuffed chicken....yeah I bought it all. More great deals in the produce department $.97 strawberries, $.77 red/yellow/orange peppers, 3/$1.00 cukes. They also had free samples of several of their fresh squeezed juices, the beet one was tasty. They are a nice dry foods selection along with wines and beer, as well as health and wellness items. i really do love this place. I frequent here. Literally every other day. I wish I could give 3 and a half stars. The only reason why I gave it 3 stars is because it can be inconsistent. They can have a product and the next day you come in for more and it's nowhere to be found. The one thing I do come in here for is their ahi tuna poke. This is literally the only grocery store I have been able to find it at! Not only do they have it readily available to buy at the seafood counter they have a frozen bag available. They do have some other interesting things you can't find at your regular grocery store and their prices are really not that bad. I have had issues with customer service as well. For the most part the majority of their staff is extremely friendly but there are some people that aren't. Which sometimes makes me avoid coming in. read more

This store I've been shopping at ever since they opened. The cashiers are usually nice the people in the vitamin section are usually nice the people in the grocery aisle sections are usually kind. But the produce and the deli/bakery have been nothing but disgusting rude obnoxious people. So I complain to the managers about two scumbags that work there and the manager literally told me that this has been going on for years. People been complaining about the 2 that work there for years?!?! I think I know what their problem. I know their kind. I mean if the general managers don't care about customer service then I'm happily never shop here again. I'm a family of six so I easily spend three to $400 a week on meat vegetables and everything else. Whole Foods that's not that far from you has never not taken care of me. The people that work here are really helpful and nice! So I needed to get bulgur wheat for a recipe, but there wasn't any on display. One of the employees went in the back and rolled out a big container of it for me, gave me a code for the cashier, and that was that. Didn't have to make a second stop to Whole Foods for a not so common ingredient. I love their selection of drinks at the front. There are a few hard to find drinks here. For example, they sell Blue Bottle Coffee (New Orleans iced coffee and their nitro-brew) which is hard to find in the Midwest.. It's nice being able to find it locally and not buy it off Amazon at an overpriced rate. The fruits and veggies here on display always look nice and fresh. Plus the whole store has a really clean feeling. Prices are a bit lower than what you'd find at Whole Foods so that's always nice. I'm definitely here for the drink selections. read more

I've changed my mind about Fresh Thyme. While not perfect, it is a welcome addition to the community. A big part of this is their produce department. For example, they have the best organic Gala apples in town. They also have lots of sales on frozen foods, chips and so on. Their gluten-free section includes the superb Gem City chocolate torte. The deli can still use work - there are few appealing prepared foods and prices seem a bit high for what you get. Nevertheless, the store as a whole is worth checking out. read more

Super impressed with this location! They have really great deals and were ready for the grand opening craziness. They have an olive oil bar, honey bar, fresh nut butter station, and even a vinegar bar! You grab a bottle fill it up and they weigh it. Very very cool! Love that they have such a HUGE selection of health products too and they're all very reasonably priced. They have a great deli/pizza area and even a juice bar! Would recommend you checking it out! I'm really not sure what I was expecting when I came here. Was it going to be like Whole Foods? Trader Joe's? Farmer Jack? When I walked in I thought it was a bit smaller than I expected, and as I walked around I realized that there wasn't much here other than produce and different kinds of juice. Had I not known about the link with Meijer's, I would have probably thought some aspects (Like "Local Favorite" signs) were familiar. I found their prices to be pretty high on most things, I've seen some items at other places for less -- when Randazzo's has lower prices than you, you really are expensive. I walked around and happened on a conversation at the deli counter between a customer and an employee about the merits of different slicing thicknesses on the flavor of the lunchmeat, with the customer talking about specific slicer settings (seriously?). I picked up some sushi, which seemed to be a decent price, but it turned out to be really lousy and tasteless when I got it home -- so it wasn't a bargain. One of the items I bought even turned out to be expired. I should have brought it back, but there's no way I'm ever stepping foot in Fresh Thyme again. Even if I was in the market for organic kale and spelt chips, I could find them somewhere else. There isn't a compelling case I could see for coming here, rather than a number of other places that are similar (but better). Fresh Thyme just isn't special, and you'd almost certainly have to go somewhere else to get all of your grocery shopping done. The icing on top of this visit came as I was being checked out by a very nice senior lady with a big shiny jewel in her nose. As I watched the prices add up for a relatively small number of items, a family walked in the door and the kid was screaming. She said to me "Kids always cry when they come in here." My experience here was unfortunately NOT FRESH. After finding a couple Pederson's Farms sausage links past expiration date (I was shopping on 12/31, links were dated 12/18), I decided that anything with the right date should still be good. Ground chicken, dated to sell by 1/2, I opened on that date and it smelled terrible. A large package of chicken breasts, dated sell by 1/3 and opened on 1/2 was the worst smelling expired chicken I have ever checked. I was flabbergasted that a day BEFORE the sell-by date had gone so incredibly off. I really wanted to like and support this local grocery store, but I will never be buying "fresh" proteins from here again. read more

Fresh Thyme is a small version of Plum or Whole Foods. It is perfectly located to serve nearby neighborhoods and businesses. I did not know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised with the wide selection of organic, natural and ready made food. The salad bar was stocked with healthy fresh ingredients at an inexpensive price. The store is bright and clean all of which you'd expect from a new grocery store. There is a seating area for employees and customers to eat FT's ready made food. There are a lot of cashiers on hand for a speedy cash out. For the most part I can accomplish most of my shopping here with the exception of some canned goods and meats. With Hillers recently being bought out by Krogers, it's nice to have another option besides the boring chain grocery stores. I recommend this store and look forward to shopping here again. read more
