I was putting together a last minute party for Mother's Day Party for my Senior Community. It was a last minute change in our plans and I didn't have a lot of time for planning. I wasn't sure of which direction to go in regards to desserts, drinks, flowers etc. After a few circles around the store, Natalie caught my eye. I asked for help and she immediately asked the Store Manager, Justin, if she could leave her register and help me. She was kind, smart and reassuring as she helped me with the menu, the drinks and of course, the beautiful flowers. She was AMAZING in making sure all of the details were handled. To be honest, I went a bit over my budget and offered to put a few items back. She called on Justin, the Store Manager and he said "Don't worry, I will take care of you". He was so kind and generous, he took care of the amount and sent me on my way. The party was a big success and I honestly couldn't of pulled it off without the help of Natalie and Justin. What's not to love about Trade Joes? Long time customers know and apparently people just found out about the cheap beautiful flowers they have because the flower section at opening was packed. Who doesn't live Trader Joe's! This is my go to grocery store every week. They have plenty of organic items. My son loves the kids grocery cart and can easily carry a small amount of groceries. The service here is amazing and employees are generally happy. They have accessible parking near the entrance and am accessible bathroom if needed. read more

While I love Trader Joe's, this is not my favorite one. The layout is a bit strange, they way they place their products compared to some others is a bit scattered. They are also out of products a lot more frequently then some of the other locations. I am not sure why. It is also a small space even though it looks bigger from the outside. It is an odd lot. I do think the individuals working here are as kind and helpful as the rest of the TJ's I have been to. They always go out of their way to answer questions, help find products, etc....The prices are also hard to beat compared to even Kroger. I like to come here for chicken or ground beef for a fraction of the price. This is the place I stop by after being at the Village of Rochester if I need to shop. I have not gone to Trader Joe's very often in the past, but my route home now passes right by them, so I've begun shopping there. I have to tell you, the people there are so helpful kind and just downright nice. Even the cashiers have time to have a quick little conversation- that means a lot!! On top of that, I love their fresh vegetables, their breads, dips and fresh fruit! I've begun buying a lot of their pre-cooked frozen meals. They're quick and delicious-Specially, the orange chicken. This location has a great selection of food and many unheard of worth trying brands. The only negative to this location is how many people are always here! Which for the business isn't a bad thing what so ever but it can make your shopping somewhat chaotic. Which in turn makes the parking lot chaotic. I love the uniqueness of Trader Joe's. It's one of the few places I can get honey from all over the world. Not all honey taste the same and since I love honey I make sure I make the trip to get my fix of honey. I also really enjoy Cauliflower pancakes. You get six of them for $3.99 and bake them in a oven and top with French onion spread. Trader Joe's is always busy and sells many items under its own label. Because they purchase from small vendors you are always guaranteed to find new and unique stuff. The sauces in Trader Joe's are suburb. Especially the curry sauces. Trader Joe's is by far my favorite grocery store and has friendly, helpful staff. read more

First time at TJ's. Overrated. Felt like riches man Aldi. Brands that I wasn't familiar with misleading. Friends that were still cooked trouble oils but considered organic. Goods and junk food than anything supposedly in healthier alternative but not. Don't even get me started on the meat. Instead of Trader Joe's should be called better made snacks and frozen food. I don't eat food like that so I don't think I will be back. read more

2019-02-22. Trader Joe's. Rochester Hills, MI. I think the appeal of Trader Joe's is that they have a lot of products you don't typically find at your big chain supermarkets. Many of Trader Joe's products are their own brands. Less fresh produce of course and imported items like cheeses. Everything from cookies to crackers to cereals to salad dressing vinaigrette seafood frozen dinners dairy products grains frozen pizzas cookies honey all of Trader Joe's brand even ice cream. Even drinks like soda lines salty snacks vitamin is all Trader Joe's. But they don't stop here, their line of products envelop the realms of gluten free products, organic products, and innovative creations even the big brands don't carry. Things like peanut better hazelnut chocolate spreads and frozen Korean noodles. They even have their own branded wine! Now I'm sure they're not entirely integrated for all their products and they contract out to many of the smaller local manufacturers for their products, but that doesn't really matter as they're still providing the specifications requirement and have to give the final stamp of approval before products hit the shelves. The best part of it all is that their prices are very competitive compared to the store brands of the big retailers. It's always packed no matter what time you go which is very frustrating. The main reason I don't like this store is because of how crammed everything is together and how small the aisles are. I'm a smaller person and if there's even one or two people then good luck finding what you need because they'll be in your way. It's also very picked over for the items I'm looking for which they often don't have. I used to really like this store and buy eucalyptus all the time but now I'm too anxious to even try to go in and shop. Oh well. read more

My second trip to a Trader Joe's whilst visiting Mum. I love introducing her to "foreign" foods. Her word, not mine. I bought shrimp gyoza for dinner. She can't pronounce it, but she loved it none the less. Same goes for Tikka Marsala. I may get my mum to pass on pork chops and skip shepherd pie once she becomes a regular here. I love Trader Joe's. My only problem with them is I wish there were more stores, closer to me. The 2 that I have near me, well, aren't so near. But I definitely make the 13 mile drive to this Rochester location because their products are THAT amazing! The stores are all laid out exactly the same, so shopping at one will look the same as shopping at another. I like the ease of that. And speaking of ease, the store, while not super large as whole is easy to navigate through, even at busy times. Employees are always super friendly and willing to help. I've often asked opinions about products or with help finding something. They guarantee all their items, so if you're not a fan of something, returns/exchanges are easy. Their floral department is amazing! A ton of fresh cut bouquets and foliage, at prices so low you won't believe it. They make great hostess, housewarming or celebration gifts. I've bought a few of their plants and succulents over the years and still have them. They offer great quality products, organic and not, at prices lower than you would except. From fresh produce and bread, to pantry items, a great frozen section, beer and wine, dairy and even personal care items and pet food, just to name a few. My go-to items here are the dried nuts/seeds and fruit, their "everything bagel seasoning", the Indian garlic naan bread, any of their quick frozen meals, and their beer. Definitely check out their beer and wine section- ridiculously low prices and their products taste amazing. 4 words to sum up Trader Joe's: consistency, quality, highly recommend! read more

You can find a lot of what you are looking for here, and at a lot better price than you would at a place like Whole Foods. But you won't find everything you are looking for here. Even though Whole Foods is outrageously priced, it's the only place you can find absolutely everything in one place. But I was extremely satisfied with the prices at Trader Joe's, and the amount of organic raw fruits and vegetables available. I found organic, ripe mangoes at the price of 1.49 USD each, and that is a hard find! That was the most impressive find for me at this Trader Joe's. I also found strawberries, blueberries, and greens at 2/3 of the price that I would find it at Whole Foods. There's not a lot of great packaged foods for vegans at this Trader Joe's location, but I did find some good vegan chocolate here. The writing for the labels on the produce kind of makes things a little confusing to look for, but it is creative and fun-looking! Would definitely come here for some delicious, ripe, and good-priced produce again! read more

Good sized store. I got the Almond Milk EggNog (I saw on a Weight Watchers post). It was good, but thin in consistency. But we stocked up on our regular purchases. I like this location vs the Royal Oak location solely based on the parking lot. The RO parking lot is small and crazy. read more

I just moved to the area and this place has quickly become my favorite place to shop for groceries! I had been a big fan of trader joe's previously but this one is definitely one of my favorites. I think one thing that is consistent about Trader Joe's is that their staff goes above and beyond and at this location I feel that the beat my expectation. The staff was extremely kind to me and the small talk we made really helped me get settled down in my new home. All of my trips here I have been met with great staff and an abundance of food options to choose from. I am extremely happy with the location of this Trader Joe's too. It is in a large plaza with plenty of parking spots. I would highly recommend others to check out this location and to shop here. read more

I have been a loyal Trader Joe's customer for a while now, but I usually shop at the Bloomfield Hills one (and I try to avoid the RO one, since it's so teeny tiny). Today I was in the Rochester area so I decided to check this one out. It's a little bigger than the RO location but smaller than the Bloomfield one. I was looking to buy some ginger, among other things, to use in a recipe tonight, and I couldn't find it so one of the nice employees directed me to it. They were sampling their chocolate truffles today too, which are awesome, so I helped myself to one of those. I bought a bunch of frozen foods too (their chicken shu mai + turkey burgers are delicious) as well as a baguette and some tomatoes, for my homemade bruschetta, and some mushrooms to cook with tonight. All in all, it's a good location and one I'd return to when in the Rochester area. read more

I love Trader Joe's... I don't live near one, so I don't go often and when I do I could peruse the aisles forever~ I just like some of the different varieties of things they have... It's a great place to pick up fun appetizers and prepared foods for gatherings. I don't think I'd shop at TJ's on a regular basis, but it's fun to go into a couple of times a year to pick up those fun frozen treats to whip out when company shows up, or when the last thing on your mind is cooking something. Great store for less processed foods, a bunch of organic stuff, and fresh meat! I love the store, service is excellent. They always have trial samples and free coffee. They bag your purchases in plastic or paper however you prefer. Also, they engage in conversation and are super friendly. I never had an attitude from any of the workers, which is a wonderful thing. Plenty of parking and you can really find what you need here and explore possibly some unique/seasonal items nowhere else have. I dont normally review grocery stores but this place has quickly become my new favorite local spot for groceries! I still need to get toilet paper and other goods at places like Kroger's, but when it comes to finding great food, this trader Joe's location never disappoints! The fruits and vegetables are always humungous and fresh, and they always have a beautiful variety of different cheeses that go great with your wine or pasta. And the sweets and frozen goods are always updated so theres always something fresh and new. They still dont carry cauliflower rice which makes me sad, only the inferior broccoli rice. But the most important reason for why I keep coming back is the amazing employees. They're constantly around keeping everything stocked and organized, always there to answer questions and help you find what you need, and always pleasant at the register when you pay. I am a huge Trader Joe's fan. I wish there was one in every city like Kroger and Meijer. Rochester and Bloomfield location are about the same distance from my home. Last night I stopped in the Rochester Hills location to get some grocery shopping out of the way.. SO glad I stopped in. Everything is very reasonable, so yummy and I've never had a bad experience. Every produce or fruit I've purchased has always been fresh. Spending a little under $100 my basket was filled with fruit, veggies, bread, frozen items, fresh meat, dairy, etc. Meals for breakfast, lunches and dinners, of course snacks too. I hope Trader Joes starts to open more locations. I think the perfect location would be Hall Rd. or Chesterfield area. read more

Thank goodness for Trader Joe's existence! I can shop for organic food at affordable prices. I occasionally shop at Whole Foods for certain items but I can find similar products like pastas, soups and sauces about $2.00 less at Trader Joe's! I think the store's layout and adventure theme is fun and inviting. The staff is always great and they are very helpful if you have any questions. They carry all varieties of nut butters like almond, cashew and macadamia. I recommend the sunflower seed butter it's only $3.99 for a jar and very yummy! I also love the strawberry yogurt o's it's one of my favorite cereals. However, I have to warn against Trader Joe's brand for 1,000 mg vitamin c supplement! I usually buy the lemon lime flavor EmergenC brand which comes in individual packets that you mix with water. I have used this supplement for two years now and it gives me an energy boost plus it's better than taking the 500 mg vitamin c pills when I' m sick! I noticed the Trader Joe's brand was cheaper so I bought that instead figuring it would taste the same. I was wrong! I tried the strawberry flavor and it tasted like nasty chalky cough medicine whereas the EmergenC brand taste more like a vitamin water. I know not to make that mistake again. read more
