If you think this place might be too bougie or fancy or hard to get into because of its association with Le Bernardin, think again. It's super easy to just walk in, pick a seat at the bar or extra large cozy sofa area, and enjoy a nice glass of great wine. It's very relaxed, and the staff are all super friendly and helpful. I felt like it was a very comfortable and intimate spot, perfect for a romantic night or a first date. I would definitely go back again and want to be one the regulars here!

Wine bar next to Le Bernardin. I stopped in before my reservation there and we got some light snacks and a bottle to share. Loved the vibe in there. We were able to walk in right when they opened at 4. They reserve 50% of their space for the walk-ins which is great! It's a great way to try the wines they serve next door as well as lighter fare!

Amazing selection of wine which will boost your wine experience to top. Staff were amazing especially with wine recommendations. Interiors is nicely decorated with dimmed lights for a romantic evening.

Stopped by here recently for their 'express lunch' as a few coworkers said it's a good value. Perhaps because it was one of the first warm spring days, it was busier than usual since the meal was not very express at all. It took nearly 90 minutes. We sat outside (which is covered BTW if its raining). For my two choices, I did the chicken Caesar salad and the tomato caprese panini. My friend did the tomato soup and the same salad. The salad was as expected- lots of cheese and dressing. Decent size. It took a very long time for the first course and the '2nd' course to come out. The panini was a lot smaller than I was expected - not much filling either. I expected it to be bigger/different. A table next to us got the mushroom croque-monsieur and that looked like a bigger portion - she had her soup and sandwich brought out at the same time, and she dipped it in the soup - very good idea! I may do that the next time if I come back. The biggest rip off was the $5.50 coke my friend ordered. The glass was maybe 12 ounces most and filled with so much ice. No refill offered and they didn't bring out the bottle/can either.

This is a fantastic wine bar, I stop by every time I'm in New York. They always have an excellent selection of quality wines by the glass that you won't find on most menus across the country. No matter which wine I select I know it will be a stunning glass! I highly recommend getting their bread and cheese/charcuterie plates. Their cheese and meat selections are also very top notch. You can't go wrong with this dish! And I love that they changed it up frequently. They do have food dishes on their menu but to be honest I haven't been incredibly impressed with most of them. By most restaurant standards they are pretty good but because this is a sister restaurant to Le Bernadin I was expecting the quality and taste of the food to be better... I still highly recommend this wine bar and encourage anyone who wants to try an off the beaten path wine and delicious cheese/charcuterie to come check it out!

I was in midtown and had some time to kill so I decided to have a drink here. This wine bar is attached to Le Bernadin so it is definitely fancy but the hospitality was warm and the staff was not snobbish at all. The wine selection is top notch of course and the accompanying food menu looked to be of equal caliber. I had dinner plans so I only had a drink but hopefully will have a chance to sample the food offerings on a future visit.

Fantastic wine bar. Vibes 10/10, service 10/10, wine 10/10, and of course food 10/10. - Duck leg: 100/10 (probably one of the best duck dishes I've had in a while-- the duck was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and just cooked to perfection.) - Oysters: 10/10 - Salmon: 10/10 - Wine: 10/10 (fantastic recommendations. Loved both the chenin blanc and red wine we got!)

Highly recommend a reservation here if you're a wine lover. The list is small but has some really great wines featured. I was between two different styles of wine and the server recommended one that blended the two types perfectly -- her other recommendations really made the stop a highlight for us! Ambiance is moody yet fresh and modern. I felt like there was a good mix of ages enjoying drinks and company. Must get some snacks too! The chips are made in house!

So glad I found this lovely wine bar! I didn't expect this quality of service, wine and food this close to Time Square! Excellent place if you want a drink to unwind, grab a light (and heathy bite) and not feel awkward sitting at the bar by yourself. Totally recommend. The place was packed on a random Wednesday. This says a lot.

Great vibe with amazing art. We sat at the bar and the bartender was friendly and helpful, with great suggestions. The wine was of course delicious. Definitely on the pricy side- two glasses of wine came out to over $60 with tip.

Aldo Sohm 'Grilled Cheese' ... I am more angry now I've looked at it again.

Well here we are again beating the Disappointment Drum... I know there are so many bad things happening in the world & if this was the worst thing in my life I'd be very happy. I'd had a rough week at work (who hasn't!?) so I thought I'd treat myself by grabbing lunch from a wine bar instead of the usual Salad / Sandwich options, but what I was actually doing was treating myself badly! Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup from a fancy-ish wine bar ... got to be a winner?! Nope. There were some flimsy pieces of off-cut cheese placed btwn dry focaccia bookends. No seasoning (come on, not even a sprinkle of black pepper?), not even grilled nor warm, despite the fact I sat in the restaurant for 15 mins waiting, so I thought it would at least be warm & fresh. I wasn't going to post a review, cos they shared my horror when I pointed it out, they were so apologetic & seemed genuine... they said they would follow-up ... I didn't really need that, but they said they would do it cos I seemed like their target market & they didn't want to lose me forever ... now I'll be honest, in this cold world a little warmth & feeling like I mattered for a moment was huge & I had a positive feeling as I left... Fast Forward a week & nothing ... as I should've expected. I got refunded - but if I hadn't walked the 5 mins from my office back to this place they wouldn't have given a shit. Just don't say you will do something & then don't do it. It's so disrespectful. Bullshitters in the heart of Midtown Corporate Bullshit World ... don't bother with this place unless you like to waste money & be disappointed.

Fancy and cozy wine bar on 51st It is small and if possible, book a table in advance. We went there for a glass of wine (great high quality selection) and a few bites to pair with. The wine was really good ( some Merlot for me) and the food was delicate. The arancini were delicious as well as the pâté. A bit pricy. I will recommend for a romantic pre-dinner

The Beef Bresaola - a generous portion!
    George W.

Highlights: An impressive selection and knowledge of wine. Good charcuterie Good service Great eye candy - look at the shelves on the wall Enough of the highlights. We dropped in for a light bite to eat and some wine. We ordered their beef bresaola, along with a glass of Roman Ceremony and Castillo di Ama. We were sharing the glasses. Both wines were really good. The charcuterie was tasty and quite generous. Now look around - you'll see some molds on the shelves for example that look like glass halves. They are just that - the two pieces of wood that wine glasses are formed into. So much eye candy, from art on the walls, to the shelves of things to look at - it was really a nice experience. If and when we go back to New York, we'll make sure to stop back in. The bathrooms were very nice and clean. See the photos below. The place is impressive.

Loved our wine; loved it so much I took blurry photos of it

As I walked in and saw just how swanky this place is I panicked - there was no way we could just walk in here without a reservation, right? But the hostess was, thankfully, so down to earth. I was straight up like hey I totally messed up and thought we could just walk in here, she was like you know what, let me see what we have. Lo and behold, she did have a table for us - as long as we were out in an hour and a half, which was just the right amount of time. Stepping into this place feels like you're in some secret, super special cocktail club. Decor is super high end, vibes are upscale AF. The cocktail menu is incredible -- and incredibly pricey, but truly worth it. I ordered the Valentino which was strong and sweet, really well made. They gave out a complimentary nut mix that was also delicious. Service was swift and gracious. If you're looking for a spot to impress a date, this is it.

There's also seating on the second floor, perfect for couples or small groups. I tried two of their cocktails when I went. The first was the Eastern Julep, a delicious twist on a classic. The mint Moroccan tea gave the drink a cool, refreshing taste on every sip. I also tried the Silver Screen, the closest drink I could find to an old fashioned. It was interesting, there was definitely a hint of a buttery taste. Overall a really balanced bourbon drink. I walked in and found room at the standing tables. A bar seat eventually opened up but I was already on my second drink by then. Definitely make reservations if you're planning a visit!

The bar seating was plentiful and comfortable. There is plenty of space for people to stand behind the bar or a high top tables enjoying happy hour after work. If you go at 4:30 or 5, it's a bit calmer as the after work crowd trickles in. And as the evening went on, it started to get more and more packed, and it became a really lively vibe. After my friend left for another function, I stuck around a little bit longer for a little solo dinner. I had a glass of Prosecco off the happy hour menu followed by a dirty martini, and I did request to look at their full dinner menu because there was a couple items that I wanted to try. I wanted to try the duck Ragu and halloumi cheese, both of which were absolutely fantastic. The halloumi cheese was perfectly grilled and flavorful, and the duck Ragu was very comforting. I highly recommend both dishes. I ended up chatting with a woman sitting next to me who happened to work with select apertivo, and next thing I know one of the bartenders handed me a lovely bright cocktail to try on the house. It was a refreshing bubbly Barlume spritz that I'll definitely have to get again next time. Overall, I had a really great time at Barlume. The service was excellent from the servers and the bartenders, and they were all very attentive, personable and friendly throughout the evening. I'll definitely be back for happy hour or dinner with friends!

Did you know this is where the Beecher's used to be?! RIP, I miss their Mac n cheese.... the vibe is completely different now (think extravagant Mediterranean vibes, it's very instagram-mable with the beautiful bar area). I had made a reservation for 5:30 (again, life with a baby is very different)- we arrived early but the staff were very gracious and were able to get us seated. They seated us in a side alcove area where they had cushioned seating, which was very helpful. What we Ordered: Drinks: Barlume Spritz and Hibiscus Mule (N/A cocktail)- drinks were good, nothing too special but we appreciated the cute stirrers Appetizer: Halloumi- grilled halloumi with roasted eggplant puree. The saltiness of the halloumi went so well with the creaminess of the eggplant. (Baby liked the eggplant puree too hah) Entrees: Lobster Arrabiatta and Duck Ragu and Truffle Pizza. My husband got the lobster arrabiatta and was raving about how delicious it was. He said it was the perfect level of spice. My duck ragu was served with busiate (a corkscrew shaped pasta) which I thought 'trapped' the sauce perfectly so you get a nice saucy bite each time. Pasta was perfectly al dente- my one gripe is that I felt the duck ragu was a bit too salty, which even managed to overpower the tomato flavor. We shared the truffle pizza, which came topped off with stracciatella, porcini mushrooms and shaved truffles. I liked the porcini mushrooms on the pizza, this was a first for me. For dessert (which we had to gobble down quickly because baby was starting to get fussy) we got the pistachio cake. SAVE SPACE IN YOUR STOMACH FOR THIS ONE!!! This was my favorite in the whole meal, the kataifi gives it that wonderful crumbliness and it went soooo well with the mango sorbet that's served with it. Recommend for a nice dinner with friends or a cool place to grab drinks! 4.5 stars

It's a small area with the tables pretty close together. We were given a table in the far corner, which was perfect for comfort and looking out at the restaurant. Two of us each ordered a glass of house wine, which were "ok." We opted for the Boqueria Experience, which is $65 per person and includes a variety of chef-selected tapas, a paella and an order of the restaurant's special JAMÓN IBÉRICO DE BELLOTA, which is described on the charcuterie menu as aged 48 months, with deep marbling, rich and nutty flavor. We enjoyed most of the tapas, including the potatoes, the beef/lamb balls, the salad and bruschetta. The croquettes were "ok" with the heavy aeoli masking some of the flavor. The seafood paella was good and was different from ones I've had in the past, with the caramelized layer on the bottom. Yum. Honestly, none of us was a big fan of the Jamon Iberico de Bellota. I'm sure it's special and luxurious, but we found it not to have much flavor. Frankly, it was a big disappointment for us. The service was beyond excellent. We were very pleased with the timing of the presentation of the meal, the superb water service and the general enthusiasm and pleasantness of the Staff. We will come back and try different items on the ala carte menu. I thought there would be more seafood and meat tapas offerings in the "Experience". Instead, it was a lot of cheese, vegetables, dates and bread. Although $65 per person likely was a good value for what we got, I think the tapas items were heavy on the lower cost tapas and that it wasn't a true top-of-the-line "Experience". A seafood dish or even a chicken dish (chicken wings) instead of one of the two croquette offerings would have helped.
