A unique bar for sure in terms of atmosphere! We came when it was Alice in Wonderland themed. I didn't recall it being like this last time I stopped in but the bartender let us know they decorate for all holidays and usually do something special in the summers. Every single corner is decorated. I appreciated how much space there was to sit at the bar, which is open seating. The cocktail list was a bit shorter than I expected and had some odd ingredients (salsa verde, soy sauce, etc) but my espresso martini was really balanced. We get crazy for any decorated restaurants and this place was in our list for a while. After a long planning, we were able to experience last weekend Oscar Wilde's insanely good decors. We timed their summer's Alice in Wonderland theme and was not disappointed. Our group of 15 was situated in the room just when walked in from the front entrance . Not has the privacy we wanted, not has sitting comfort we expected , not the best food we waited but delighted to be with the most decorative backdrop. We had a delay on our food service, had a mixed up to few orders, there was one extra charge for drinks not accounted by our group hostess until after the stay and was not assisted to our expectation level. What an incredible surprise to find Oscar Wilder on our trip to NYC! We actually saw it on Yelp but it looked like a beautiful library theme restaurant. Come to find out, they change their decorations often & always have different themes. This was the Alice & Wonderland theme! Oscar Wilde is a bit of a gimmick, I'd say, a hit among the themed-bars crowd and impressive to anyone not native to New York. I found the hodgepodge of old-timey decor to be a bit kitsch, but to each their own. I came with a group on a weeknight with no reservation. We were seated immediately on a high wood table. Although the bar wasn't busy (there were plenty of empty spaces, small groups scattered throughout the area), the service was quite slow. The server was inattentive and took a while to take our orders. We had to ask her for water three times, searching for her across the room in an attempt to catch her attention. She was a bit absent during the two-ish hours we were there. On the bright side, the drinks were fairly good. I ordered this strawberry vodka cocktail topped with whole mint. I'm wary of vodka for its harsh, unpleasant taste, but I found this drink to actually be very pleasant, tasing like a fruit smoothie you'd get from a local juicer. There was also a burgundy drink served on a wine glass that tasted like the holidays. I liked that one quite a bit. Overall, Oscar Wilde was an okay experience. It's certainly a bar for a certain type of crowd, and the service was lacking, but maybe we went on a bad night. Maybe if you're lucky, you'll be served better than we were. read more

From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the décor and ambiance. The level of intention behind the design is truly second to none. The cocktails were outstanding-creative, beautifully balanced, and expertly crafted. Every drink felt purposeful and showcased real talent behind the bar. Despite the venue being absolutely packed, the service remained warm, personal, and genuinely attentive. Bartender Juan was exceptional, and manager Andrii led by example with true hospitality. I initially had a seat that wasn't ideal, and without me saying a single word, they noticed. As soon as a better seat became available, they proactively offered to move me. That simple gesture spoke volumes about their awareness and commitment to guest experience. It's easy to deliver great service when a room is half empty. It's much harder when every seat is full, and that's exactly when this team shined the brightest. Met up with some friends for drinks for St. Patrick's day. Very festive & happening bar/restaurant. My friend made a reservation, and we got there earlier, but was called to sit quickly. The menu is a sign on a QR code on the table. Happy hour is 2-6 and just made it with minutes to spare. We wanted to order a pitcher of sangria but waitress told us they don't do pitchers. We all go single glasses instead. Drinks came out fast. They aren't overly strong. It was also a good portion. We also ordered buffalo cauliflower bites and hummus and naan. Stumbled in here almost by accident and my first piece of advice is do not enter if you're on gummies and it's Alice in Wonderland season as the decor will blow your mind as firmly as the graphics at a Dead show in the Sphere. This place gets a solid 3.5 and here's why: - a reservation is still needed - because I wanted to keep our stroller with us, we were sat in a corner that barely had decorations ... just a few gold strings of lights, a broken nutcracker next to our table - our waitress didn't offer us a high chair, but the busboy did halfway through our meal - the drinks were ok but the fries were hard and stale ... I don't know if there were fried earlier and then refried, only reason I ate the was because it was our New Year's Eve lunch The only thing I love about this place is the decor and we could take advantage of it when you walked out of the restaurant. Wow! What an amazing place this is! When my daughter and I stopped in for drinks this past week, the restaurant was decorated for Halloween. When I say decorated, it's insane how crazy they made it! From the front door to the ceiling, it's amazing. Beyond Halloween though, the place has amazing decor. So much is imported from Europe and South America...including the stained glass from Milan. Check out their website for a list of it all. The bar that we sat at was beautiful. Our bartender was very friendly and they had a nice Happy Hour selection of drinks. When we arrived in the evening, the weekend before Christmas, there was a line down the block and a bouncer at the door enforcing 1 in, 1 out. Once inside, there was absolutely NO space to stand or sit. Every chair and bar stool was taken, and we couldn't even find somewhere *near* the bar to stand. There was no way we could even order a drink. They should have let less people in. After 10-15 minutes of wandering around aimlessly, we were about to give up and leave, but saw a couple getting up and quickly took their now-vacant barstools. We shared a drink and sat taking in the decor. Every single inch of the walls and ceiling were decorated. It was festive and cozy but somehow not cramped or cluttered feeling. I cannot fathom how they pulled that off. The drink was fine, nothing special. Prices for drinks and food were sky high. If you're coming This place instantly pulls you into a different era -- like stepping into a Jane Austen story -- and right now the whole space is transformed for Christmas. Giant ornaments, holiday trees, snow globes, reindeer, Santa, polar bears... the decorations are incredible and make the whole place feel magical. For families: make a weekend reservation and request low seating. There are a lot of high tables, so that note really helps. Service is on the slower side, but the food surprised me in the best way. The Wagyu bacon burger was thick, juicy, and came with crispy fries. The sausage had a nice char, and my buttermilk chicken and waffle was juicy inside and delicious with syrup.
