The interior here is INSANE! So cool - it was Alice in Wonderland themed and the lights were moving. My eggs benedict was great. Service was good. Super lucky we went here after our other res fell through - my friends loved it!

Happy hour is the way to go at Oscar Wilde without a doubt. The oysters were absolutely amazing very cream with a fresh taste along with drinks a dirty martini and ice coffee. The atmosphere was amazing the decor was very Oscar Wilde era with that poetic vibe

Oscar Wilde is a bit of a gimmick, I'd say, a hit among the themed-bars crowd and impressive to anyone not native to New York. I found the hodgepodge of old-timey decor to be a bit kitsch, but to each their own. I came with a group on a weeknight with no reservation. We were seated immediately on a high wood table. Although the bar wasn't busy (there were plenty of empty spaces, small groups scattered throughout the area), the service was quite slow. The server was inattentive and took a while to take our orders. We had to ask her for water three times, searching for her across the room in an attempt to catch her attention. She was a bit absent during the two-ish hours we were there. On the bright side, the drinks were fairly good. I ordered this strawberry vodka cocktail topped with whole mint. I'm wary of vodka for its harsh, unpleasant taste, but I found this drink to actually be very pleasant, tasing like a fruit smoothie you'd get from a local juicer. There was also a burgundy drink served on a wine glass that tasted like the holidays. I liked that one quite a bit. Overall, Oscar Wilde was an okay experience. It's certainly a bar for a certain type of crowd, and the service was lacking, but maybe we went on a bad night. Maybe if you're lucky, you'll be served better than we were.

Met up with some friends for drinks for St. Patrick's day. Very festive & happening bar/restaurant. My friend made a reservation, and we got there earlier, but was called to sit quickly. The menu is a sign on a QR code on the table. Happy hour is 2-6 and just made it with minutes to spare. We wanted to order a pitcher of sangria but waitress told us they don't do pitchers. We all go single glasses instead. Drinks came out fast. They aren't overly strong. It was also a good portion. We also ordered buffalo cauliflower bites and hummus and naan. I didnt even get a chance to take a picture. Everything came out nice and hot. Very tasty, don't sleep on the food! There was also dancing and music. Can get pretty loud but all in good fun. Had a great time, try to go for happy hour!

Delicious menu options and a magical interior! I have eaten inside before, but on this rare warm April night we took a table outside. We got to witness each guest in awe as they caught sight of this incredible space from the open door. Service was excellent even though it was a busy Friday night. Its a fun place to experience with a group of friends but it can get a bit noisy so choose your table wisely.

Stopped at this location in early December because my wife really wanted to take pictures and experience what she saw on Instagram LOL that was NOT the case. The decorations were cute but this place was jam packed like a can of sardines. It's nearly impossible to make reservations and the servers were pretty rude even when I was willing to buy drinks and stand in the middle of nowhere. I would not recommend coming here. Go somewhere else or watch the waitlist like a hawk.

A fun and lively bar/restaurant with the cutest decor! It was giving Alice in Wonderland and I heard they change the decor based on the season/holiday. There was something new to look at every time I looked around. We didn't order any cocktails this time around, but they looked good!

Oscar Wilde is a nice place to take pictures and get drinks. I liked the cocktails. However for food, it was very lackluster. The food was missing salt throughout and was okay (although not for the prices). You might as well go to a diner. This place is good for drinks, but pass on the food.

I stopped into this restaurant for lunch! When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked into this magical Christmas bar with many people! I was sat and ordered with Sophia and she was great! I ordered: Mrs Claus' Mulled Wine Steak & Eggs Trial by Fire Wagyu Beef Sliders Organic Grilled Chicken Shepherd's Pie My favorite were the sliders! All in all a great experience!

Oscar Wilde is hands-down one of the most magical holiday experiences in New York City. The bar is one of my favorite holiday themed places to visit. The moment you step inside, you're transported into an over-the-top Christmas wonderland--twinkling lights, vintage décor, and festive touches everywhere you look. It's impossible not to feel the holiday spirit here. The cocktails are creative and beautifully presented, and the food is just as impressive--delicious, hearty, and perfect for a cozy night out. The staff keeps the energy high and the service warm, even when the place is packed (which it usually is, for good reason!). Whether you're stopping in for drinks or making a full evening of it, Oscar Wilde is an absolute must-visit during the Christmas season. A truly unforgettable NYC holiday treat.

This place gets a solid 3.5 and here's why: - a reservation is still needed - because I wanted to keep our stroller with us, we were sat in a corner that barely had decorations ... just a few gold strings of lights, a broken nutcracker next to our table - our waitress didn't offer us a high chair, but the busboy did halfway through our meal - the drinks were ok but the fries were hard and stale ... I don't know if there were fried earlier and then refried, only reason I ate the was because it was our New Year's Eve lunch The only thing I love about this place is the decor and we could take advantage of it when you walked out of the restaurant. Definitely not worth the hype and wouldn't come here again. Thank god the tip wasn't included although I always add the 20 percent. I guess thank you Oscar Wilde for the cute pictures for my instagram memories with my baby!

Oscar Wilde is absolutely gorgeous decorated for Christmas, and the line outside reflects that. When we arrived in the evening, the weekend before Christmas, there was a line down the block and a bouncer at the door enforcing 1 in, 1 out. Once inside, there was absolutely NO space to stand or sit. Every chair and bar stool was taken, and we couldn't even find somewhere *near* the bar to stand. There was no way we could even order a drink. They should have let less people in. After 10-15 minutes of wandering around aimlessly, we were about to give up and leave, but saw a couple getting up and quickly took their now-vacant barstools. We shared a drink and sat taking in the decor. Every single inch of the walls and ceiling were decorated. It was festive and cozy but somehow not cramped or cluttered feeling. I cannot fathom how they pulled that off. The drink was fine, nothing special. Prices for drinks and food were sky high. Staff were efficient and respectful as they possibly could be, in that crowd.

Place was very well decorated. It was also pretty packed on a cold Thursday evening. I was lucky enough get a seat at the bar with my friend. Order two cocktails - both were under $20 each. Cocktails were great and we sat there in awe of the amazing picture worthy decorations, and the amount of effort put in. Definitely a conversation starter! Well done Oscar Wilde! Can't wait to see what's next on the decorations schedule!

Does the entire party have to do afternoon tea? Can one person have afternoon tea and the other order from lunch or brunch menu?

We all ordered from different menus.

How do you get someone to answer the phone?

Get a reputation for short calls.

On which brunch day is the drag brunch Saturday or Sunday?

Are kids allowed to go there? On Saturday night?

Yes Kids are allowed here.

What time is happy hour on weekdays? I can't find a menu or info about this anywhere

What is the dress code and are walk-ins allowed?

Casual dress code and walk ins are permitted but reservations are recommended because they get booked pretty often.

Is this business kid-friendly?

I would not bring kids here tbh

Do they accept walk-ins for dinner for 2ppl during holiday season? If yes is it a table or bar seating?

Yea they do! But bar seating and it's first come first serve. It does get pretty crowded so i would highly suggest making a reservation

So I'm looking to come for dinner for Christmas Eve. Do you recommend dinner or just come for drinks after?

It's a busy and noisy place - but great fun. If that works - have dinner!

Can you make a reservation for drinks only or does it have to be a meal?

You can just go in to get drinks at any of the bars

Is this place kid friendly for brunch?

I wouldn't bring kids here. It's really compact and loud

Good for a toddler?

Very crowded and noisy. Not sure if there is room for a stroller etc

What kind of music do they play?

How long will Christmas decorations be up?

I have been trying to call for a week now just to check if me and my friend could walk in for some drinks and if the indoor is open cuz this place has been on my list and I haven't been able to reach to them?

yes you can walk in. yes the inside is open

Is this a place where you can dress up in like a dress and heels or is it mostly casual?

I would say it is a healthy mix. I wouldn't go wearing sweats but you could definitely rock a dress and heels or jeans, a nice top and booties. It just depends on what you are there for!

Can I do a walk in for 2 even though there aren't any spots available for reservation?

absolutely - and there is ample seating at the BAR which also provides a full menu and service. Enjoy!

When did you stop being a gay bar? When I started going I was told by staff it was a gay bar. Is this why you play loud 80s music? The bar is quite beautiful and is named after an openly gay man. Talk about irony...

We are a bar open to all.

Is there a certain time people under age of 21 can't enter? like some other restaurants.

Should be fine. There was no door person checking IDS when I went. It has a bar but also a sizable dining area. If anything just call and ask.

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

Easy to find if you know what you're looking for, if you arrive right at 5pm on a cold weeknight in the winter, you'll easily find a table or seat at the bar. Very cute space, cozy like everyone says, but nothing mind blowing. Music is moderately loud. The menu in early February still included their winter holiday cocktails. I was more interested in the apple sage house-made fermented soda, and it was pretty good-large glass, flavorful and not too sweet. My friend enjoyed her pomegranate version. The space started to fill up at around 5:30. Service was polite when you could get it, but generally very inattentive, even before it got busy. It honestly didn't feel too different from anu other very nice NYC bar, in terms of menu selection, prices, ambiance and service. Maybe that's standard for NYC speakeasies, but the places I frequented in other cities were more fun and felt more worth the price. I'll still give another NYC spot a try, but not coming back to Thyme.

It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. Since we had cocktails at dinner, we only stayed for one round. Service was good, and overall I enjoyed my time at Patent Pending. I would definitely return to explore more of their menu.

It somehow manages to feel both refined and relaxed at the same time. The kind of place where you half expect to spot Hemingway in the corner pretending not to eavesdrop. We started with half a dozen oysters, which were fresh, briny, and exactly what you want with serious cocktails. Crisp, clean, gone in about three minutes. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way. It felt like a cocktail designed to be savored slowly. The music fit the mood perfectly, not too loud, just enough to give the room energy without killing conversation. Overall, it's a great spot if you want elevated drinks in a space that feels transportive without being pretentious.
