In February, I scheduled my first comprehensive exam at this office because I had dental insurance and wanted to use my FSA to finally address two teeth that had been causing me pain. Like most patients, I trusted the dentist and staff to thoroughly examine my teeth, review my X-rays, and recommend the appropriate treatment. One of the first issues I encountered was learning that this office was out of my insurance network. I was not made aware of that before treatment, and I believe that information should have been clearly disclosed so I could have made an informed decision. During my visit, the dentist placed a filling on one tooth and a crown on another. Both teeth already had existing dental work, and I was experiencing pain before treatment. Instead of improving, my pain became significantly worse. About a week later, I returned to the office because I was still in pain. I was told they would continue to monitor the situation because I would "probably need a root canal." As a patient, I relied on the dentist's professional judgment and assumed the appropriate treatment would be provided if it was necessary. The office strongly encouraged me to see an endodontist. When I contacted the specialist, I learned I would have significant out-of-pocket costs despite having recently paid for X-rays and treatment. Unfortunately, I could not afford those additional expenses at the time. My condition continued to worsen, and in March I went to the emergency room at University Hospital with severe facial and tooth pain. After a CT scan with contrast, I was diagnosed with an early dental infection and was prescribed antibiotics.  Eventually, I sought treatment from another dentist. Because the infection had progressed, the crown had to be removed in order to perform the necessary treatment. I also had to pay for a root canal that I believe could have been addressed much earlier. As a result, I have had to undergo additional procedures, spend more money, and continue dealing with pain. Another concern I have is that my insurance benefits and my FSA funds were almost completely exhausted during this process. I also noticed an insurance charge of approximately $104 listed as a comprehensive exam on the day I only returned for crown delivery, even though I had already received my comprehensive exam during my initial visit. I am seeking clarification regarding that billing. I also had a wisdom tooth extracted after it was recommended during treatment. Looking back, I personally regret having that procedure because it was not causing me any pain or problems at the time. Since February, I have spoken with multiple members of the office, including Katie and Tom, regarding my concerns. I requested my records and asked that my case be reviewed, but I have not received a resolution that addresses the additional treatment, expenses, and ongoing issues I have experienced. This experience has left me with additional dental procedures, unexpected financial costs, depleted insurance and FSA benefits, and months of ongoing pain and stress. My advice to anyone seeking dental care is: * Verify that the office is in your insurance network before treatment begins. * Ask questions about every recommended procedure and all associated costs. * If pain continues after treatment, don't hesitate to seek a second opinion. I sincerely hope no one else has to go through what I have experienced. No stars for this INCOMPETENT OFFICE AS A WHOLE!!!!

If you are wondering about payments and copays; all of that has to do with your individual insurance and what your insurance covers. For the routine cleaning; all of that was covered by our insurance. If you live in the area and are looking for a new dentist I would highly suggest you give them a try.

I cracked a molar last week while on a trip. Local Dental was recommended by my neighbor and I'm so glad I called. First, the phone was answered by a very polite and helpful real person. Second, they were able to get me in the next day. Went back one day later for placement of a temporary crown. Third, the place is clean, modern, technologically advanced and the staff are wonderful caring people. Doctor Lee showed me on a large screen what was going on with my tooth and how it would be treated. The procedure was painless and he took his time to make sure it was done right. I love this place!
