Last week, my ladyfriend broke her molar down close to the roots...and she doesn't have a primary dentist or dental insurance. A search on Yelp revealed that Villa Dental takes walk-in patients and takes cash or has finance plans available. What's more, this facility is the hands-down the best rated dentist in San Antonio. Well, I'm pleased to say that there's a reason for all that goodwill. We got the earliest appointment available and were impressed from the moment we walked in the door. Unlike a lot of dental practices, the staff seems happy to be there - not dispirited and overworked like many other places. We were taken in on time and I got to observe the practice close to first-hand. The technology used in the X-ray and inner-mouth photography is top-notch and a step above my own dentist. Dr. Staes, as many here state, has a great bedside (chair-side?) manner and takes pains to explain everything. Came back the next day for a painless extraction and a couple of fillings. Being transferred from NC here to Texas for my job, Iam a 54 year old female that has only been to the dentist twice in my life to get deep cleaning. Dr Staes and his staff are the dream team. Pre-visit paper work is seamless and easily accessible. The waiting room is very lovely, but I've never been in there long because they are so punctual. Dr Staes has never made me feel pushed into any treatment and I really respect his conservative approach. I have only had 1 other dentist my whole life (from age 5 to 25), and I finally switched to another dentist when I moved to SA in 2017. They handled my 5 teeth removal easily led by Dr. Upton. From staff to Dr. Upton I was being taken care of and they are my to go to dental for my cleaning. Dr. Upton and the staff provided an estimation of how much they will charge and after the removal Dr. Upton said they didn't sweat much on our procedure and immediately talk to the staff to deduct some amount on my charge and I was really happy about that.
