The boyfriend and I ordered the Cachapa Pabellon and the Arepa Pabellon. Both were similar in flavor but had different unique stand out ingredients. The Cachapa had a corn-bread-like exterior and the owner explained it's made fresh every day. Ask for the green sauce to go with both dishes! I loved the taste of the beef in the Arepa. The Cachapa could feed two people but I'm glad we tried both. The owner came out to explain the dishes and checked on us. He's very sweet and came to our rescue with paper towels cause we needed something heavier duty than napkins LOL. Service is excellent. We'll be back. read more

I really hate to only give this place three stars because I truly did not have a bad experience but the food just wasn't amazing . My friend and I got the special fries as an appetizer and they were fine, I just wish the serving was bigger. Where we were disappointed was with the arepas :/ I was super excited and ordered the jalapeño grilled chicken and my friend got the breakfast special. They were close to $17 so my expectations were pretty high and unfortunately these just didn't meet the mark. The ingredients in the arepas didn't taste fresh and were in desperate need of some sauce but they charge extra for sauce here. Once we got half way through, there was no filling left and it was no longer enjoyable to eat. I don't think I would have been as disappointed if our meal was as expensive as it was. We also waited a decent amount of time for our food, like close to 30 minutes but the owner of this place was incredibly sweet so I have nothing bad to say there. read more

Plenty of seating options inside. Large menu selections from breakfast, to Mexican, Venezuelan , and even create your own it took me time to make a decision as everything looked good. Ended up with a specialty arepa and shrimp empanada (not pictured). Both had tons of flavor in every bite severed along with some green sauce on the side was perfection. First thing, thank you to Brigitte L. for her review (look it up!) for providing me the incentive to try this place out when I visited Austin this week. It is as good as she says and the owners were fantastic! The food recommendations were spot on! The Cachapas had a touch of sweetness and the white cheese was thick and melted to perfection. The arepas was served like a burger and the mixture of scrambled eggs, tomato, avocado and cheese was a perfect combination that made our bellies very happy! Aleida's is like going to your family's house and having them cook for you. It's such a warm, inviting atmosphere and the food is absolutely made from scratch with love. I was visiting for a work conference and wanted to show my team a taste of Venezuelan cuisine. My Mom is from Venezuela, so arepas, cachapas, tequeños and batidos are home cooking to me. This restaurant honestly took those comfort foods to the next level! We showed up right as they opened and they welcomed us in with with a smile and so much hospitality. I wanted to give my coworkers a real taste of a traditional Venezuelan breakfast, so we each ordered an arepa con perico (scrambled eggs with tomatoes and onions), a cachapa with queso de mano & nata, and mango juice. As another reviewer stated, they allowed us to get coffees next door and bring them back over, but they do sell coffee as well. The interior of this place is gorgeous! There's lots of tables and booths, beautiful decorations and painted murals, and "windows" with LED screens that transport you to South America. Although you could get it to-go, I highly recommend dining in! The food was very obviously made to order. These weren't arepas that had been made and reheated, you could taste that the masa had just been rolled! The perico had been enhanced with fresh chives and parsley, and came out steaming hot. The garlic sauce was TO DIE FOR! I legit wanted to drink it. 100% made in house. They also said they made the cachapas fresh every morning. They really didn't skimp on anything, the arepas were stuffed and the cachapa was loaded with three cheeses. My coworkers were instantly in love and it was such a beautiful moment for me to be able to share my culture with them and have them actually enjoy it! This place is such a great representation of Venezuelan food. The mango juice was so obviously made from actual mangoes, you could taste the fiber, and I'm glad they take the time to make Jugos Naturales (natural fruit juices) available to their customers because I know it's a lot of work! The love they showed us was again like we were family, like we came here every day! They also said we had to try the tres Leches and you didn't have to ask us twice! At this point I was sooooo full and I'm very picky when it comes to tres leches because a lot of places use whipped cream or cool whip which is not at all traditional. This was the real deal. The icing on top is so hard to describe because it's something I've only had in authentic tres leches, but it really makes the dessert. They told us they actually use 5 types of milk, and you could taste the difference! It was a light fluffy cake sitting in a pool of sweetened milk and even being full I couldn't stop eating it. The next day we went back again for breakfast and this time I got an arepa with jamón y queso de mano (ham and white cheese) and my coworker got two empanadas. Again it was all so fresh, so full of flavor, extra stuffed, and delicioso! I only wish this was in my hometown so I could go back every day. One thing is for sure, I will be coming back to Aleida's next time I'm in Austin! read more

It's a small, bright, counter-service style restaurant. All of the decor is Latin themed, with much of it being Venezuelan. I enjoyed the arepa pabellon. I ate out some of the filling before trying to bite it. The seasoned beef was tender and delicious, and paired incredibly with the fried plantains and cojita cheese. It is messy, so I went to their gender-neutral bathroom after finishing my meal to wash my hands, and discovered a tray of feminine and baby products available for customer's needs. I thought that was a lovely and considerate touch. The menu does include Mexican as well as Venezuelan foods, so there is a lot of variety. I plan to bring my kids next time I come. Oh, and Venezuelan food doesn't use wheat flour, only corn, so it's a perfect choice for anyone who has a gluten-free diet. read more

So good!! We went last Saturday at about 6/7pm; and even though the place is small we were able to snag a table (they are moving locations just across the parking lot to a bigger space). We got the Tequeños for an appetizer and they were mouthwatering. I got a chicken arepa with guacamole and it was so fresh! We wanted to try something new, away from SXSW traffic and took a drive to Cedar Park. Yelp to the rescue! Don't you love trying a new spot and it's way better than you expected? Aleida's is an unassuming restaurant in a strip mall with excellent reviews - we had to try it. A very kind gentleman (I think the owner) told us all about the menu, the history of the restaurant, the teacake bread on the counter and helped us pick our food. We decided to get the beef arapa, chicken empanadas, chips and queso. Everything was excellent. The chips are homemade, sturdy and delicious, baked not fried. The queso tasted fresh and tasty - together sublime. We ate two baskets of chips. The beef arapa is a sandwich with fresh baked bread and well seasoned shredded beef. It came with a mild and very spicy sauce- both delicious. The empanada was superbly fried, crispy and excellent. Throughout the meal our gentleman answered questions and was very attentive to the table. A treat and a surprise. If in the area, we will return. read more

The place is so clean and well decorated. The owner is the sweetest, and he explained each Venezuelan dish. I recommend the empanada! The best empanadas I ever had. It had the right crispy and delicious filling. Mine was the shredded chicken. I asked for the spicy sauces, and it goes really well with it. I also got the arepa plate which has some eggs, and the sausage was good. The arepa for the plate has no filling, so you get your choice of meat on the side. I recommend getting their specialty arepas more. I got the arepa pabellón which was filling and a good size. They stuff everything inside. They also have a spicier sauce that goes with it. I also had their pineapple juice. It's actually from the fruit, and you can taste the pulp. You order at the front and sit anywhere you like. It was around $40 for everything. read more

Looked up a place close by and saw this place with amazing reviews so my boyfriend and I decided to check it out. Ordered chips and dip, really fresh flavor for both. I got nachos with beef, tastes good but definitely not what they're known for. My boyfriend got their quesadillas with shredded chicken that came with a side of chips and queso. Star of the show for main food for sure!! Super good and flavorful. Not pictured was dessert. We got both the tres leches and flan. THESE BOTH ARE A MUST GET. I have never had good tres leches in Austin/Cedar Park and I'm blown away. With flan they're easy to have no flavor and this was perfectly sweet. We want to go back to try breakfast but will definitely be back for dessert and try their arepas. read more
