Overpriced Tex Mex. Underwhelmed. Felt like it was 30% too pricey. The shrimp quesadillas were falling apart. The sauce on the enchiladas was a weird red color that almost looked like the color of fresh blood which was not really appetizing. The queso was very good but the chips were mediocre. Slow service. Fairly busy happy hour vibe. Maybe a better spot for drinks than the food. All in all it was a very expensive, average meal.

Always a good place to get Tex-Mex. Decent prices and a nice atmosphere. The staff are prompt and ensure you are taken care of. I like the chips here as well as the tacos and salsa.

The experience was a great one. I have visited the location on Burnet Rd and you can tell that the business mission statement is followed at both locations because the service was on point. The food tasted the same " fajita beef quesadillas". Bryce was my waiters, very attentive, not too pushy, and not crowd in my space. And that's how, like my waiters be. The ambiance was nice. Aldo is a little bit different than the burnt row location, which if he came down to ambiance, I would prefer that location. But overall, it was a great visit. I will be back

Let's get this out of the way first: the food slaps. For Tex-Mex, this place absolutely hits. Enchiladas Tejas (GF) with chicken were rich, comforting, and full of flavor. The chicken was tender and well-seasoned, topped with a solid chile con carne and served with rice and beans that didn't feel like an afterthought. The chicken & beef fajitas--mesquite-grilled and beautifully marinated--were juicy, flavorful, and came with all the fixings. The flour and corn tortillas tasted homemade (or very close), which always earns points. The standout for me was the Navigation pechuga gravy with onions, mushrooms, jalapeños, and tomatoes. Incredible flavor--but not nearly enough of it. When something's that good, you notice when it's missing. The chimichanga was crispy, cheesy, and topped with chile con queso, and the Spanish rice deserves its own shoutout because it was . The carnitas tacos were fresh and balanced--corn tortillas loaded with roasted pork, radish, onion, cilantro, and spicy tomatillo salsa. And the chips and queso? Dangerous. Perfectly crispy, super corny chips that didn't need salsa to shine. Now for the reason this is 3 stars instead of 4. I called ahead at 4:30 pm for a party of 10 and was told we'd be added to the waitlist. We arrived at 6:00 pm, waited nearly an hour to be seated, and watched tables clear and other parties get sat--including spaces that could've handled us. The other 4 in our party arrived at 6:18pm minutes later, which should have worked seamlessly. It didn't. There was clearly a disconnect, and no meaningful apology. Waiting that long--especially after calling ahead--is frustrating and avoidable. Our server, Lance, was fine but not warm or engaged. The whole table felt like something was off. Amazing food. Missed opportunity on service. Fix the front-of-house communication, and this place would easily be a repeat.

Finding parking can be a chore, but the garage is available, and this place is worth finding! This is apparently their second location and you can immediately understand why. Everything from the service and decor to the tastiness of the food and drinks makes you want to return again and again. I ordered the green posole and it was outstanding!

Sour cream enchiladas have white breakfast gravy.. not a sour cream sauce yuk BUT.. crispy beef taco is perfection
    Tanya W.

Well I guess the fajitas or crispy tacos are the only way to go for the Tex Mex here. I once again got the sour cream enchiladas to see if it's changed, but nope.. they use white breakfast gravy for the sour cream sauce. It's very odd!!!! So from now on let's not keep making the same mistake. The food and service here are fantastic I just need to need to move on... For my leftovers I used their green salsa mixed with my own sour cream and it made the perfect chicken enchilada sour cream sauce!! Leftovers were delicious this way!!!

Enjoyed lunch here! We stopped in on a Sunday & the place was packed. I was told there was a 35-45 minute wait for a table for two. I asked if they had bar seating & was told it was first come, first serve with the full menu available. We found seats at the bar, on the outside & cancelled our table. Had a great experience with Inta as our bartender/server. We told her it was our first visit & she pointed out the menus and drinks. We were promptly given ice waters and chips & salsas. The chips were great & we enjoyed both salsas. I had the chimichanga & it did not disappoint. Took home half of it. Such a cute place with a great outdoor space, perfect for couples & families alike. We saw kids playing in the free space. Looking forward to visiting again & trying the fajitas that Inta K. recommended, as well as their amazing happy hour specials.

Restaurant ambiance both outside and inside are amazing! Lively feeling, great for date night or family nights out. Food was amazing, multiple of items to pick from! The chimichanga is to DIE FOR!!!! Service was great! Definitely a must go to again and will be a new spot for my wife and I!

We really enjoyed Mama Betty's, the food is generous portions and the complimentary chips & salsa are great appetizers! They have Tex-Mex dishes like enchiladas, tacos, plate specials, and fajitas grilled over mesquite fire for fun group experience! It can get really busy here during dinner time, so call ahead to get on the waitlist.

Great happy hour specials - the taco plate is hard to beat and it's a full dinner size. Delicious and fully loaded margaritas on their lovely patio are always the correct answer. Get some spicy green sauce and mix with regular green on your tacos. You're welcome.

My friend and I sat next to a faux fireplace, where we were greeted by the only bartender working and placed our order. Once he opened the tab, it was disappointing that he never came back to check if we wanted another drink. It wasn't super busy on the Monday we went, but since he was the only one manning the bar, the bartender was always doing something, so I don't blame him fully for not checking back in with us. I ordered a drink called the Velvet Vice. It looked nothing like the picture and tasted similar to an Aviation cocktail with egg whites. I happened to really like it. It is a very relaxed space, but once the speakeasy gimmick wears off, it does not have much else going for it. It is still a cool place, but I am not sure it was worth the lengthy drive to get there. And, at both breakfasts Amy made me feel especially welcome! The table came with a bottle of water for self-service, which I appreciated. The wine list was of good quality. My server at dinner was able to give me a solid recommendation for one to pair with my salmon. She was dead on with how well it complimented the fish. As for the salmon, it wasn't overly seasoned and was incredibly flaky. It was a good size as well. For breakfast, The Breakfast Plate's eggs were cooked perfectly with appropriately cooked bacon. I enjoyed the potatoes that accompanied it as well. The Buttermilk Pancakes meal was a failure though. The pancakes were gooey inside. My server, Amy, offered to have them remade, but I declined the offer. So I accepted a parfait, which was easily one of the best I've had in Austin. The granola with the berries were perfectly balanced, and the granola wasn't super chunky. Amy was 100% invested in my meal satisfaction. The dining room is quite pretty with lovely set tables. I was able to get a flavorful cappuccino and eggs benedict made vegetarian friendly. The Hollandaise sauce was swapped out for queso, which was a fun twist! All-in-all, a great brunch was had by all. The food was not the best we'd ever had in regards to other brunch places, but knowing that crowds are not a problem here makes this a great back-up spot if the other brunch places in town are backed up!

Unfortunately, the brunch menu left much to be desired. The Sunday menu had very limited vegan or vegetarian options (not even a salad?), and substitutions were not allowed. I was told I "couldn't substitute bacon," not even for avocado. I ordered what I thought would be chilaquiles, but it turned out to be a trendy, Americanized version of the dish. Being Hispanic, I know better than to order dishes like this at restaurants because I expect traditional cooking. So know that the eggs in the chilaquiles are served over easy and very runny, they are not scrambled. Also, instead of tortillas, the dish used Dorito-esque chips. Since I can't eat undercooked eggs, I was essentially left with a bowl of chips for $13 (pictured). Overall, the menu felt like it was trying a little too hard to be trendy or "cool" rather than letting the locally sourced ingredients (which is really cool feature they offer!) speak for themselves. I liked that they care about sourcing ingredients, but the execution felt more focused on creating "quirky", elevated twists versus making dishes that are cohesive or satisfying.
