Strolled into this southern eatery with my pops looking for some good soul food. Turns out this eatery has a great story behind their delicious food, but you'll have to stop in to ask the owner yourself about their origins. Located in a strip off 112 and Limmer Loop, next to Ash smoke shop, Nana B's gives off an inviting, cozy vibe as you enter in. Dine in area, though small, was filled, every table occupied. TVs lined the walls with a different college game playing. They had my attention with the Illinois vs Washington game. The order counter lined one side of the restaurant with sanitary protection glass where you could see the various options, greens, Mac and cheese, yams, etc. my father chose lemon pepper wings, Mac and cheese, fries. My wife had recently tried their ox tails and raved about it. Food did not disappoint!! I recommend giving this fresh new eatery a try.

We decided to try Nana B's Country Kitchen in Round, TX for lunch. Please note the signage from Mii Vida Comida Mexican cuisine is still on the building. We ordered catfish, collard greens, yams and homemade pound cake for dessert (one of my favorite desserts). The catfish can be lightly or hard fried. Inside the catfish was super moist and fluffy. The collard greens were so good they made your toes curl. These greens were made with turkey legs and the flavoring made them a joy to eat. The yams were soft and buttery... once you started eating them you could not put your fork down. Nana B's is named after one of the co-owner's mom, Kesha. The restaurant is tailored primarily after her mom's cooking along with her husband, Victor and nephew's recipes. Nana was known for cooking big family spreads of food throughout the day. It actually reminded me of my mom and how our home was the focal point of our neighborhood. The homemade pound cake was the real standout - light, airy and fluffy.... Literally melted in your mouth. My only regret is that Nana B'S is not in Austin, TX. One of best down home cooked meals we have eaten in a long time....

We stopped in at Nana B's for a pre-birthday dinner for my husband, and I'm just going to say it: we've found our soul food spot. He ordered the fried catfish, greens, and the red beans with sausage. Those red beans had a touch of sweetness that set them off in the best way. Flavorful, comforting, and seasoned like somebody's auntie was back there humming while she stirred. And that catfish? Perfect. Fried just right, crispy outside, tender inside, and not a hint of grease pooling on the plate. We shared a piece of cornbread and that cornbread was not regular cornbread. That was special occasion cornbread. Warm, soft, and honestly better than cake. I tasted the homemade in every bite. I had the chicken fried chicken, and it was exactly what it needed to be. Juicy, tender, fork-tender in fact. The coating wasn't heavy or overpowering. Just enough to compliment the chicken, not hide it. The brown gravy? A whole experience. The dirty rice was delicious. The green beans were good too, just prepared a little differently than I'm used to. Next time I may try another side, but I didn't regret choosing them. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly, and they surprised my husband with a complimentary slice of Sock It To Me cake. That cake did not make it to the next day. We understood the assignment. We'll definitely be back because we're working our way down this menu. I've got my eye on that burger because I love a good burger spot. 10/10. If you love comfort food that tastes like care was put into it, go ahead and get yourself over there.

Five stars for how you handled the Sunday crowd! It was packed and the line seemed to never stop; however, you kept the food coming out hot and fresh without huge wait times. Yes, there were a few hiccups in certain items being left off or friend's orders being delayed; but once we spoke to someone, they quickly fixed the situation. At my table we had the smothered pork chop and dressing, the fried pork chop, the smoked oxtails and greens and Mac n cheese! Everyone loved the food! It's kinda far from me, but I'll definitely try to come back!

There were a few people ahead of us, but the line moved quickly, giving us plenty of time to check out the huge menu and decide what we wanted. I went with the Chicken Fried Steak sandwich, loaded with lettuce, pickles, and tomatoes, while my wife chose the Tuna Salad sandwich. Both came out after a short wait, and wow--they were fantastic! The chicken fried steak was perfectly cooked (not overdone or underdone at all), with just the right amount of fresh toppings and a great bun. Everything was balanced, flavorful, and honestly one of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time. (Pro tip: their signature Dirty Sauce makes it even better if you go for it!) The price was very reasonable too. We're already planning to come back regularly--this place is a winner!

I found out the quality was great but the quantity was not. I got something with three meats and I could barely tell there was any on my sandwich. I was expecting a bit more for the price but it was nice to try something new. The Togo package was great though. They remembered everything and they gave us two lollipops. In that way, they made me feel taken care of because it was the extra mile.

When we found out, we rushed over for a Father's day meal. The atmosphere was pretty cool, interesting pictures on the walls, someone put a lot of effort, time and thought into the decorating of this establishment. All men running the joint, we told the guy who took our order(who was very nice), it was our first time here. They have been in business for 16 years(not at this location)! So lets get down to the food. My Husband ordered the two dog combo, one a Chicago dog, another a sauerkraut dog, it came with fries. He sad the dogs were amazing, they hit all the marks. The fries were ok, a little room temp(but to be fare we came there 30 minutes before closing). The soda's were really great, not two sirupy, not too carbonated, we enjoyed them. I ordered a pizza with Italian sausage added. They gave us our drinks for free, which was awesome. I didn't know what to expect with the pizza, but I was blown away by it. They should be very proud of the recipe they created. Most places over season/spice their sauces. The flavor of the tomato gets drowned out. This was absolutely not the case the sauce did not sow out the crust whatsoever it held its crisp the whole time. The sausage was wonderful. The cheese was everything you wanted on a pizza. I can say it's the best than crust pizza I think I've ever had. My husband tried it and we fought over who was going to be eating it for lunch tomorrow. It was huge. I wasn't expecting it to be that big. I will be dreaming about that pizza, and craving it. This is my go to place to get good pizza. It blows Nikki's out of the water. If you are craving some good then crust, pizza, or hotdog I suggest you go there. They also have chili fries, cheesesteaks, so much. They have one of those menus, where everything looks good, and it's hard to decide. Just try it. Warning, this pizza is 14 in(seemed bigger), and it being thin crust, and tasting so good, you might find yourself eating the whole thing. Wish we had pics to post, but we did not think of doing it, will do next time(which will probably be later this week, it was that good).

They offer two sizes, and we ordered the smaller regular Americana Cheesesteak, the Cartel, a shared order of fries, and two fountain drinks. Our total came to about $35, which felt like a good value for the amount of food. Service was friendly and they served our food to the table very fast. The fries were your typical frozen fries and came unseasoned, but that wasn't a big deal. We added our own seasoning. One thing to note is that they only serve Pepsi products. That's a big bummer for me because I'm a Dr Pepper girl, but it isn't a complete dealbreaker because they also offer tea. Now let's talk about my sandwich. It was loaded with so much meat that I couldn't even fit it in my mouth! I ended up taking some of the meat out and adding it to the fries, which turned out yummy. The steak was well seasoned, and the lettuce, tomato, and mayo ratio tasted perfect. If you're looking for a hearty cheesesteak that will definitely fill you up, Wise Guys is worth checking out. I'll definitely be back!
