Nice guys, fast work. However they were one man down and were very late arriving at our home. My…read morepartner and I were both ill and were unable to directly supervise at all times. When the gentlemen left, we noticed most of the boxes were coming untaped and many of them were overstuffed and bubbling at the top which means the contents will be crushed and vulnerable when the boxes are stacked. We were very disappointed and had to spend our evening retaping and hoping for the best. It was very frustrating to pay hundreds of dollars for a job we had to follow up on and redo. It also remains to be seen whether our contents will make it all in one piece due to overpacking of boxes. ETA in response to the owner's comments- one of the bubbled boxes are blankets. The rest were kitchen and office boxes, no blankets or pillows. Yes, many of our boxes were used but they were sturdy and not crushed, broken, etc. We also had many new boxes. We were never informed we had the wrong kind of tape. We had big rolls of packing tape. Update: Our items just arrived and the very first box we opened had mugs that my grandmother had given me, that I've had for thirty years. My grandmother just passed away. The mugs were packed with office supplies, and were not wrapped, just floating freely in a box that wasn't full. They were all broken. I'm devastated. I ship from home as part of my job and had a multitude of packing supplies on hand, including brand new boxes, wrapping paper, and bubble wrap that were left over at the end of the move that all could have been used. And that was just the first box. I'm afraid to open the rest of my boxes to see what damage awaits me. Second update: many vases were found broken. These gentlemen were paid by the hour and I am finding many boxes full of trash, junk mail, newspapers, with nothing else inside them. Just trash to pad the hours, meaning not only did we pay to have trash packed, but we paid to have it moved cross country. Kitchen stuff was packed in such a disheveled and disorganized way that glass containers weren't wrapped, spices and oils were opened and dumped out into the boxes, cardboard containers of food crushed and their contents emptied out...our electric griddle was packed but not the cord that attaches it to electricity, so it is unusable. They left every single cookie sheet, pizza pan, cooling rack, etc in the drawer underneath our stove at our old house and we just realized it when we went to make dinner in the oven here and realized none of that stuff made it here. We specifically asked for them to pack them, because we use them all the time.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! If I could give 0 stars, I would. This was the most unprofessional and…read morefrustrating experience I have ever had in my life and I have moved a LOT. Not only was he late getting started, Samuel and his crew showed up unprepared and clearly did not know what they were doing. They continuously asked trivial questions on how to do their job and load up the truck. It took them 5 hours (from 10:30am to 3:30pm) to load up a 2 bedroom apartment and an additional 2 hours to unload the truck into our new home - with my husband's help! In the middle of packing, one of his guys asked if I had a Black n Mild and requested that I go "get him one". He also asked my husband once I declined. After we questioned him about loading one of our mattresses on the truck unwrapped (which is gross), Samuel then left and took an hour to get packing wrap for our furniture and mattress covers (which was supposed to already be included). Once we arrived at the house to unload - where my husband became part of the moving crew- the same guy asked if he could use our restroom and asked if he could go "#2". In the middle of moving!!! We had to ask them to re-ensemble our furniture but they did not follow instructions and 7 hours had already gone by. We also had to call several hours after they left to figure out where the missing pieces of our furniture was located. Additionally, Samuel left his cell phone and vape in our apartment, so I had to go back and retrieve it for him. When it came time to pay, he said that my husband's assistance was "optional", and he could only take off 2 hours from the final bill. He argued with me about the time it took for them to load the truck even though this should've only been a 4-hour job total. When I suggested paying them $400 - which is half of the price he THOUGHT he was going to charge us, he became aggressive and combative in his tone and still charged us $600. I am extremely dissatisfied and upset about the service we received and didn't want to pay him a dime. I will never use their services again. Although the men seemed like nice people, this was a horrendous job and poor business.

I let the movers know the furniture I did have was real wood and therefore very soft and would need to be wrapped very well. That did not happen. They severely damaged over $1.k worth of furniture. The cabinet door on one end table was completely removed (no clue how that could even happen) and the hinges were nowhere to be found. On top of the damage the movers were completely unprofessional. I let them know I needed to step into another room to take some work meetings and they interrupted my meetings while I was mid sentence to yell questions at me that they could have figured out themselves. They didn't have tools on their truck to put my furniture back together and they left several boxes and items of furniture on my patio. They even turned one of my tables upside down on the concrete patio and threw their drinks and dirty napkins in the table like it was a trashcan. I contacted the owner and he was very understanding on the phone and even admitted the movers were not capable of doing the job properly and many other clients have had similar issues with the same movers. He told me he should have put someone else on the job to supervise and offered to refund part of the move but it has been over a week and I have not received a refund and the owner will not return any of my calls or texts.

BEWARE - BAIT-AND-SWITCH PRICING!…read more I rarely leave negative reviews, but my recent experience with this company deserves one. I chose Firehouse Movers because of their glowing Google reviews, and their initial estimate was very competitive. Unfortunately, the final bill was a complete shock. To begin with, they insisted on a virtual estimate and refused to come out in person and assess the job. This was a 5000 sq ft home full of furniture, and I wanted the most accurate estimate possible. I asked multiple times for an in-person estimate, but my requests were declined. By moving day, I had sold two-bedroom sets and several other large pieces of furniture that were included in the original estimate. Even with significantly fewer items to move, the final price was more than double the original estimate. On the day of the move, I somehow went from needing two trucks, as stated in the estimate, to four. And from 9 to 17 total man hours. At the end of a long day, my husband just wanted them gone, so he reluctantly paid the bill before they could log anymore hours. When I called to discuss the bill, Firehouse claimed I had verbally approved the additional associated costs over the phone, citing a recording, which was completely false. I have asked multiple times for this recording, but I have not received it. That was not a small miscalculation. Our move was grossly underestimated. This whole experience felt misleading and dishonest. Stay away.

A terrible experience! Please do not make the same mistake I made, and give your hard-earned money…read moreto a company like this. Schedule a move for a SINGLE BEDROOM and a few boxes. There was a total of about 6 pieces of furniture and 5 boxes. I was quoted a rate of $179 an hour and about a two hour move. High rate but seemed reasonable. On the phone, I was made aware of a travel fee of an hour and that was it. It took two movers two hours to get the furniture and boxes into the truck to head to the drop off location. Mover employees were not bad, but they wrapped everything (mind you this was not communicated to me in terms of time cost nor in terms of product cost).... and it took way too long to wrap and load. Once we got to the drop off location (about a 10 minute drive from the pick up location) I was told to pay before unload. I was fine with that, what I was not comfortable with was the fee. Over $1,000 for a SINGLE BEDROOM AND A FEW BOXES. I told the gentleman driving the truck that it was insane and he got his manager on the phone because I was pissed. The manger got on the phone, and I explained that "I do not care what you say, I'll pay what is needed but I will blew you up everywhere. This is not true to the pricing I was quoted, the estimated full rate was just over $300, and I was shocked this information adds to over $1,000 to pay for A SINLGE BEDROOM.." by the end of the conversation I got a rate of $159 per hour, but overall the price didn't decrease by more than $60." I ultimately paid and told the movers to hurry up and get out of my house. The truck was unloaded in 30 minutes but I wasted 30minutes on the phone speaking to the manager. Overall a SINGLE BEDROOM (AND I MEAN ONE BEDROOM OF FURNITURE) WITH 5 BOXES COST OVER $800... for really no reason. Added UNDISCLOSED FEES INCLUDED A FUEL FEE and a PACKING FEE (which you may not ask for, BUT IT WAS STILL charged). I have moved many times, this is the worst, slowest, and most expensive moving company I have ever used -- across multiple states. A disaster times 1000... THIS COMPANY IS NOT TRANSPARENT AT ALL WITH PRICING. They do not disclose what is a part of the labor fee (originally $179), mislabel your deposit (as it is not included in the final bill), and refuse to take adequate responsibility for mislabeling of moving time. I will blow them up everywhere because their business practices take advantage of others and do not make communities better. Instead they take advantage of everyone, and I will be writing emails to multiple sponsors of their business claiming terrible business practices. They are so bad and deserve no one's money, and future services.
