My daughters, now 3 and nearly 8 have been part of Village Preschool for most of their lives. We…read morehave been a family of this school from April 2021 to August 2026, and it hasn't always been perfect, but it's been great for us. There are a lot of options in Yorba Linda and adjacent cities, so it was really difficult to choose. However, what initially drew us to choose Village Preschool was the space, particularly the outdoor area. It was large and inviting, with plenty to do--from live animals, to climbing structures, to the occasional art area, to riding tricycles. We also loved all the programs and themed days/weeks arranged for the kids that are included in their tuition cost, not to mention that the hot meals and snacks are accounted for as well. The level of care that each teacher has shown has been wonderful for us. We had a sensitive situation awhile back involving our daughter and another child. We initially did not feel good about the way it was handled due to the lack of communication while it was happening, but after making time to speak with the staff, we were able to move forward and found that there is a learning opportunity for collaboration and communication. Our oldest daughter has gained so much confidence while being at Village. We worried that keeping her there through the TK program would hinder her academically when it was time for her to move to kindergarten at a different school. But we were wrong. Through their use of traditional academic approaches + play, she was well-rounded and prepared for kindergarten the following year. We were then extremely confident in our decision to send our second child to Village when she was about 6 months old. We did not have any experience or exposure to the infant classroom prior to that. We worried about the inclusion of multiple age/development stages existing in one room and wondered how they would be able to co-exist and be cared for equally, but somehow it worked! Even when our second child developed more awareness, she happily went into the classroom. Seeing that she was still so young and growing quickly, it was a very collaborative effort between the teachers and us to address the evolving needs of our child. Once she was nearly 2, she moved up to Room 1 and later into Room 2. They made the transition very easy for her and us, and we were grateful to have Ms. Jessica and Ms. Tori there with her. They, along with all of the other staff in that room were very nurturing and loving towards her. We are sad that we are no longer an active Village Preschool family (financial decision). I'm still in contact with many former families of Village Preschool, and everyone has said the same thing: that whether they made their decision because of financial reasons or that their kid aged out or that they moved, they were sad to go. I highly recommend Village Preschool if you value an environment where your kids can be themselves while learning something new. They will gain confidence and new friendships and lasting memories.

I appreciate that the director listening to my feedback about creating more variety in the lunch menu and implementing some changes quickly. I think the school's biggest opportunity for improvement is drawing a stronger line on their sick policy. I understand that frequent illness during the winter is common for this age group, but in my time there, I frequently saw children with green mucus hanging from nose to mouth when dropping off and picking up my daughter. It would benefit all other parents who pay a significant tuition if the staff would hold firm boundaries in those cases and send sick children home.

Before choosing Pine Tree, I toured about five different schools because I wanted to make sure we found a place where my children would not only be safe, but also happy, supported, and able to thrive. As a parent, trusting someone else to care for your little ones is a huge decision--and Pine Tree made that decision so much easier. From the moment we toured the school, Ms. Perla made us feel incredibly welcomed and at ease. She was warm, transparent, and genuinely enthusiastic about the children, the staff, and the school's approach. We could immediately tell that this wasn't just a daycare--it was a nurturing learning environment built with heart. Ms. Perla and Ms. Michelle are hands-down the best ever. Their communication with parents is consistent, thoughtful, and reassuring, and they truly go above and beyond to make each child feel seen, safe, and loved. The teachers at Pine Tree foster a strong foundation not just academically, but emotionally and socially. We've seen so much growth in our daughters--from their language and problem-solving skills to their confidence and emotional regulation. The curriculum is age-appropriate and engaging, and they do an amazing job at balancing structure with play, creativity, and exploration. They also celebrate cultural events and individual milestones, which makes every child feel special and included. The school maintains a clean, safe, and joyful environment that radiates positivity. It's clear that the staff take pride in what they do, and that translates into the way the children flourish here. My daughters come home excited to tell us about their day--and that kind of enthusiasm says everything. We are incredibly grateful to have found Pine Tree Preschool. Highly recommend to any parent who's looking for a place where their child will be truly cared for, supported, and encouraged to grow. There's absolutely nothing negative to say--only gratitude for the amazing care and experiences our children have had here.

My son attended this preschool for two years. Initially, things were great when the previous…read moreadministrator was in charge, but once Ms. Amanda took over, everything started to go downhill. One of the biggest issues is the incredibly high teacher turnover. When we raised concerns about this, we were told they can't keep teachers due to low pay, which was very unsettling. My son, who is sensitive to change, had five different teachers within an eight-month period. This was far too much for a 3-year-old to handle, and it understandably affected his behavior. Instead of offering support to help him adjust, Ms. Amanda continually blamed us and labeled my son as a "problematic kid." She even told other teachers that my son might have a brain issue, which was both hurtful and completely inappropriate. After consulting with two psychologists and a pediatrician, all of them confirmed my son is perfectly normal, and they strongly recommended removing him from the school. Ms. Amanda also lied to us multiple times. She claimed that other parents were unhappy with my son attending the school, but after speaking with many of them directly, they completely denied this. She also said that teachers didn't want my son in their class, but when I talked to two of his teachers, they firmly rejected this claim. It was clear that Ms. Amanda was fabricating these stories to avoid addressing the real issues and to place blame on us instead of taking responsibility. Though there were a few wonderful teachers, like Mrs. Poei and Mrs. Yovana, the turnover rate in the 3-4 year old class and TK is alarming. Worse still, Ms. Amanda's attitude towards the children is deeply concerning. She expects complete obedience from students, likely because she struggles to manage difficult situations. Anytime a child so much as takes a toy from another, parents are required to sign a form, and this behavior is documented. This documentation was used against us when they suggested our son wasn't a good fit for the school. Also, many of the 5-star reviews for this preschool are written because parents are encouraged to leave positive reviews in exchange for a $50 discount. After leaving Pine Tree, I enrolled my son in a new school, and he is thriving. He loves his teacher, enjoys going to school, and it has become clear just how poor the experience at Pine Tree really was. If your child is active, sensitive to change, or doesn't fit a rigid mold, I would strongly advise against this school. Their rigid expectations and Ms. Amanda's harsh, untruthful, and unprofessional approach made for a terrible experience for our family

I pulled my child out after an incident where the director and ownership were not truthful to me about the circumstances of how my daughter was injured. It was crushing to feel that the village that supported me and which I relied on when my daughter was an infant would misrepresent facts to me. To be clear, this was not the first time she has been injured at the school - kids get hurt, whether at school or at home. The situation that led us to leave the school was different because what they told me about how she was hurt did not match her actual injuries and it was the second incident resulting in injury near her eye that happened around the same time the students were moved around in the morning to their assigned classrooms. On the same day of her injury, she came home with twigs shoved in the straw of her clear water bottle. The overall picture is that the staff that day just were not watching the kids closely. Check the state licensing page for recent complaints filed about them relating to their infant room and preschool room. I also have screenshots and evidence of the admin telling me stories different from what actually happened, which was documented on video. I have had a positive experience until this year (2025). That's why I am not removing my original post. However, when my daughter moved to the 2-year-old room and it was not great, and we moved her after this incident. The staff has high turnover and are not set up for success. I am not sure what has changed during the last year, but things have changed and not for the better. If you are part of a local parent group on FB, I would encourage you to look at discussions about local daycares to see unfiltered feedback about this school. Again, good and bad. Last but not least, there is video of all the rooms and activity. The footage is not continuously recorded, but it can be retrieved within a certain time frame. This may have changed or they may have changed their systems. But just know that I was told that footage was not available when I asked on the date of the incident. However, when I issued a letter of preservation, the video was suddenly available. It took almost a month for them to finally make it available for me to review. I have all of these communications documented in writing. These actions do not support the claim that they made to me that they are transparent.

All the directors are amazing - and my daughter looks forward to going to "school" every single day! They have an amazing summer program in which they coordinate water slides, reptile visits, and other excursions. They organize egg hunts, make Mothers Day/Fathers Day crafts, have a fun Christmas performance, create memorable send-off promotion ceremony - I truly cannot believe all these teachers do to make the year so memorable. The facility is clean, bright and airy - they have a great indoor "play area" when it's cold/rainy outside. The curriculum for Pre-K is pretty spot on - my daughter was ready to enter Kinder and was definitely ahead of the pack when joining. I also really love the every day photos and Brightwheel updates they make on what she's eating, videos, photos, fun daily moments. I simply cannot say enough good things about this center!
