So, I had to renew my BLS, and since I've been coming here now for my last two certifications i thought my experience would be excellent as always. Not the case...I was singled out and embarrassed!! I was told I'm too weak to administer compressions, told my acrylic nails were in the way, and made to place my mannequin on the floor and work on it down there. I have never had problems here, in fact last time I came I breezed through and finished my test second and passed. That class was also full to capacity. The instructor was so kind and thorough and made sure everyone was all on the same page. Her name was Brittany, But yesterday, no Brittany. It was a woman named Michelle. She told me she has been teaching this class for 35 years. She was definitely on a power ego trip as she told me several times throughout the class she would not pass me. She was beyond kind and attentive to the only other two male EMTs that were there. She kept saying how we should be out by 8:30pm, when class was supposed to be until 9:30pm, she rushed through and skipped over video segments. When we were all done with our practical part, she said it was test time and stated that we would also be given a review to fill out rating her class. She said depending on the review, it would affect her job status!! Good review she stays employed, bad she loses job. After she handed me the review paper she softened up towards me. After the other two EMTs were finished with their tests and had left (yes they were finished first, no surprise because she stressed me out) As I was finishing my test and concentrating, she kept talking to me and making comments about random things. While I'm testing!! Long story short, I drove out of my way to come here. A 38 minute drive. I will now find a new location in two years when mine expires. Yes I passed, but it was the most humiliating experience. Three stars because she did change attitude towards the end and the other two EMTs were helping me and being supportive throughout. read more

Horrible school the day instructor CHARLES I had was unfair to female students ,belittles them and makes them feel small this school only cares about their money don't waste your time here .I'm only giving the one star because I have to otherwise I would give 0. Don't bother going to anyone in the school about it him and his wife are the ones who take care of everything. Michelle was a great instructor. Very straightforward, humorous, and constructive when anyone needed help. She breezed through information quickly, but explained it well enough that I didn't really have any questions by the end of it. Needed to renew my BLS and was recommended Alert Medical Training. I was able to get into an upcoming class quickly and easily. Instructor was very professional and knowledgeable. I took this emt course almost a year and a half back and im only putting this out here to help someone else out. It is not recommended by me if you have a job part time or full time that you go through this emt program. It is the hardest program in the area and they make it that way on purpose. They include a ton of extra stuff to study and memorize. In my honest opinion no matter how hard you study or try it will be very hard to pass if you work really any type of job. This program is heavily favored to college students who dont have to work or are on break for summer. Which is totally fine, im just trying to warn anyone who is thinking about going through this program and balancing a job. It is not a guarantee whatsoever that you will be able to obtain a course completion. That is all based on how much extra outside of class you are able to give which if your working it wont be nearly as much as is needed. You get two trys to pass the final test and you need to achieve i believe an 80% or 75% or better. And if you dont obtain that your program ends and you will be out 1500$. So be prepared if you do choose this program and you are working full time or part time to really be ready for the workload this program gives its alot and its alot of money to possibly lose out on. read more

She really loves what she does as an instructor and I honestly felt I learned a lot and feel confident to know what to do should someone need my assistance. If you are considering an EMT program this is where to go. All the instructors are great amazing people and have field experience aiding our education. I can say that if you plan on doing the summer academy you must be serious about your success. It is a rough class and is no joke. I can say after completing the class I felt more than comfortable taking the NREMT. I did in fact pass the first time. I will absolutely be coming here again for any needs. read more

Great experience with alert medical training. I just recently renewed my BLS and my session was awesome. Our instructor/owner was efficient and effective through the training experience and had some very intriguing real life experiences to share. I was most impressed with his materials; everything was clean and so high tech. The practice manakins actually indicate with lights if compressions are done properly. It is easy to register, plenty of sessions through the months and reasonable price. The course does require a 15$ book but you can use it at the next renewal. read more

I loved my experience here, I went in on a Thursday to do my skills for BLS, it turns out a third party signed me up for the wrong course so I couldn't do the skills! Well, I needed my BLS class by Friday!! The front desk, I forgot her name, but she was super helpful. She looked at the calendar and fit me in that Friday so I could get the skills done. The skills instructor, he took me in between his 2 classes, he was super helpful and kind. I loved taking the class!! The entire staff was beyond helpful and friendly!! I'll def. Looking for the right program was a big stressor for me when I decided I wanted to attain my NREMT certification. I looked at a couple of of different programs here in Fresno and decided that Alert Medical Training was for me. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Charles, George and all the staff at AMT are some of the most professional, knowledgeable And supportive people I've ever met and I'm very happy I found them. The thing that sold AMT to me the most was that they make you a promise, if you commit yourself of course, to not only train you with the highest standards, but will also stick with you after you graduate and help you register for the national test AND help you find a job, which is priceless in my opinion. I took the class with Liz and wasn't expecting much more than a 2-year cert, as I had recertified before. Many times. However, I'd never done it at Alert with Liz and I was in for a treat. The 4-hour class went so quickly I didn't realize it was time to leave. Liz is by far, the best instructor I've ever had for any hands-on skill. Considering the fact that CPR is a skill that saves lives, I can say that I wasn't the only one to benefit from this. I would take another class from Liz in a heart beat. Pun intended. read more

I had to drive a few miles out (from Visalia) because I have a very busy schedule currently with my EMT class. All of my local CPR classes were either full on the days I could, or didn't offer clases on days I had openings for. So I sourced out to Fresno, scheduling was easy, I was able to save $5 for a paying in advance. It was a class with about 10 people. And it's very interactive and comfortable room too. read more
