I also had The Fence Maintenance company build me an L shaped fence extension to place my garbage cans behind. The owner Anish responded very quickly and came to my house to see what he needed to give me a quote. I received a fair quote for the quality I was looking for and within a couple of days, he and his foreman Leo, and Leo's helper Luis showed up bright and early ready to get started. I had some underground work done previously in the gate area, a french drain, and it ran under the same location the drop pins for the gate would be placed. I was more than a little concerned about how they would be able to engineer a proper anchor point and not mess up the new drainage system in the process. I had my own idea and showed Anish what I had come up with but he told me they had a plan to use cement to anchor the pipes for the rods and that satisfied my concerns. I had a similar issue with an existing drain (and a defunct caped sprinkler line I had forgotten about) that had to be avoided for the posts on the L shaped extension. Leo is amazing, he is a perfectionist's perfectionist, and I quickly saw that trait in him once he got started. I really felt at ease after seeing how he had hand dug out all the obstacles and he showed me where they were, and of course they were pretty much exactly where anyone would have chosen to sink a fence post. Luckily because of how careful Leo was in exploring his dig zones he avoided doing any damage to my existing infrastructure. One thing that really caught my eye about Leo was, how he constantly pulled out his little level to check and double check for plumb and level, every step of the way. I will come right out and admit it, I also am a perfectionist! And because of this, I have always done all my own work, on everything, my entire life, but my age has made that impossible recently. I totally trusted Leo from the begining after seeing him and Luis work, they both are perfectionists, slow and methodical, you know you are in good hands when you see the foreman constantly checking things with his level. I stopped hovering over them the rest of the day. That says A Lot! Trust me, you can trust The Fence Maintenance Co with your project too.

We are out thousands of dollars from shoddy, misrepresented work that was not performed even to a…read morehandyman's standards, let alone a licensed fencing contractor's standard at our ranch in El Dorado County. I would give zero stars if I could. Be forewarned if during busy times, you find someone immediately available to do the work, when everyone else is booked for months. We provided a straightforward design, yet Seth implemented it incorrectly by setting the posts wrong; he would not take responsibility for the mistake, and in fact, blamed us for not catching the problem. We felt that a licensed fencing contractor given a clear set of plans that he stated he clearly understood did not need to be micromanaged. He sent a crew out but made few appearances himself, and his crew appeared to be labor he hired with little experience. I'm writing this to save you the enormous expense and pain we had to endure by hiring this company, paying him thousands for his time and materials, and then having to hire a second company to re-implement the majority of the fence, which included having to repurchase and re-set dozens of posts. Had we not caught all of the shortcuts made, this fence (not even appropriately set at the right depth in concrete), would have blown over and collapsed after the first wind storm. He wasn't even able to follow a simple design, and didn't seem to care. This company had pulled stunts like this prior, per their negative online reviews, and we saw a complaint on file with the contractor's board; we just wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. Can't recommend him and currently in a battle just trying to get some resolution. With a strong need to be 'right', a refusal to apologize or understand all that went wrong, it's time to visit the State Contractor's board and perhaps even small claims court. This is the first time I have ever had to write a negative review, and it pains me to do so, but we are actually experienced home owners and home builders, that just needed help during a busy time getting a rather large fence built. We put our trust into Seth and he took advantage. I hope Mr. Overby will eventually learn from his mistakes as he's actually a nice guy who either is just too inexperienced to be working in his trade.
