Myself along with two other friends had pedicures done. The place was so clean and bright and airy. I was charged $50 for this short dip style of nail!! Apparently, you have to ask for a manicure if you want your cuticles done.... for an additional fee. The nail tech was rude and snarky. Was here visiting on vacation... wouldn't recommend for other travelers. read more

I've been here before and they seemed nice so i came back.. first time since before covid started. so it's been a while. well, i had a pedicure done and the day i left it looked like what my nails usually look like after a month of regrowth. I got told that white is a "hard color" to paint bc you can see any and all discrepancies with the paint strokes. They offered to repaint them but i figured i'd change them to nude since they said white is hard to do and i didn't want to find myself in the same situation. So when he(the owner) asked "same color, right ?" i said no, i'll do nude instead. he said "oh, now you wanna change them". seemed kinda passive aggressive but maybe i misunderstood. nonetheless i attached pics of my color job. so y'all can see what it looked like. again, they seem nice so maybe it was an off day but they don't look worth 36 to me. read more

Let me start by saying I'm a nurse, so I don't get my nails professional done often... however, this is literally the best place ever! I started back getting my nails done as some alone mommy time & tried a couple of my old spots from years ago. Let me just say, such a disappointment! And my how the times & prices have changed! Lol Not only was I not impressed with the increase in prices but Lord the service is worse! Good service can make one over look small flaws, but bad service can ruin good quality! However, Alex Nails has both, great service & quality! I was very happy & pleased with the service & care I received upon my first visit! The staff was so nice to explain everything to me and they took their time with me, which I appreciated. I love this place & will now only go here for all my nail care needs! Also this is dip nail only place & slightly more expensive than the traditional places, but well worth it! They encourage healthy nail care & using your own nails & I love that as a nurse! I came here based on Jill M's review and I'm definitely glad I did! The Gulfport horse show happens every year and I've been coming to it since I was 12 (minus a 7 year hiatus from riding, but I digress). It last six weeks so I spend a lot of time down here in February and March. I occasionally go home so I typically get my nails done when I'm there, but unfortunately for me, one of my nails broke so I had to get a new set ASAP. (What can I say? I'm totally psychotic about my nails...they have to be done. As soon as one breaks, I drive straight to the nail salon.) Enter my faithful, trusty Yelp. This was the only nail salon with good reviews near my hotel, so I got in my car and punched in the address. My GPS is brand new so I'm not sure what happened, but I had to call the salon for directions (he was very nice by the way). It is in a strip mall next to the Dollar Store or something like that...so I got a little nervous. But as soon as I walked in, I let out a sigh of relief. So nice! You can see in my photos that everything is new, thoughtfully laid out, and most importantly...clean!! My set had to be soaked off, which takes forever, but he was so nice about it (and only charged me $5 for it). He also asked me multiple questions to make sure that he was doing my nails exactly like I liked them...and he got pretty close! And that means a lot! I'll definitely be back if I have another nail emergency. He even gave me his frequent customer card that gives you discounts! I'm a fan :) read more

I came here because I was in town and wanted to get my nails done. Yelp highly recommended this place, as do I. I pulled up in my jazzy vehicle looking fly but left looking even more fly. The spot is in a not so nice shopping center but inside is clean and calming. The staff and owner is very friendly and conversational. There was no wait. I got a pedicure. They keep their tools very clean. They also open brand new tools for your use only and you are able to take them home when done. All the nail polish is OPI. One of the girls gave me a super cute design on my big toe. If I lived here, this would be my spot. They also have a points system to get a free nail service after so many purchases there. I had an absolutely amazing experience here. Alex truly taught us what an exceptional nail salon experience is. My mom and I were in Mississippi for a family reunion. My nails were looking terrible, and I desperately needed a new gel polish manicure. So I persuaded my mom to head over and get our nails done. Alex was so nice and very informative of the different types of gel polish products out there that are unhealthy for your nails. And I know he didn't just say this to try and persuade me that only the products he used were the best, just to keep our business - he knew we're from California, so our business wouldn't be worth the effort. He even told me, "When you get back to California, look for ________ at the nail salons." He won't lie to you, just to get more money. The woman who did my moms nails also was super honest - my mom didn't know if she just wanted polish or the whole manicure, with the manicure being more expensive. When my mom asked if she needed to get the whole manicure, the woman at the salon told her that she didn't think she needed it and would be fine with just the polish. In this situation, she could have lied and told my mom she needed the manicure just to get more money. And not to mention, our nails looked awesome walking out of there! He truly has things figured out correctly, he treats every customer with care, and not just so they'll come back and give him more money. read more

Came to Mississippi for a much needed 4 day vacation. Went to have a pedicure done first at a place called California nails. We walked in and just didn't seem friendly. So I got onto yelp and found Alex Nail Spa. We got in there and everyone spoke. The owner asked questions and explained everything. This place is absolutely beautiful. My mom got a fill by the owner. They're so fierce. I got my pedicure and the lady was amazing!! SOOOOOO relaxing. She told me a lot of tourists come in there. A lot of people that lived here don't really know about them. The ambiance from when you walk in is a beautiful white chic room with a row of basically state of the art massage chairs. I got the volcano pedicure for 45 dollars and for the next hour I was in pure heaven if you don't get the volcano you're doing yourself a disservice. My only regret with this place is that I'm just visiting and won't be able to become a regular customer if I could give 6 stars I would. After being all over the literal world getting pedicures I will be disappointed with any place after this. 10/10 doctors recommend. read more

Amazing experience. I stopped in for a pedicure (no appointment) and was able to see Tien. I upgraded to the spa pedicure and it was SO worth it. It's like a facial for your feet and was definitely the best massage I've ever had. Tien took extra care to work on a toenail that had grown in a little and the pedicure was perfect. Combine that with the really nice massage chairs and it felt like a mini spa experience. Only drawback was a smaller selection of non-gel colors, but I was able to find the perfect spring pink and didn't feel like I was missing out. They do have a TON of gel options. The Staff was super friendly and welcomed me as soon as I arrived but they are slow! They never mention how long I would have to wait and I waited for over an hour before anybody came to get me. There were maybe 5 customers in the shop and by the time I sat down there were only 3 people left in the store. Even after I waited for over an hour they still took the woman that showed up 30 minutes after me, first. I'm not sure why I had to wait so long but they are beyond slow here or understaffed. The bathrooms were dirty and their polish selection was next to nothing. Not very impressed with my experience but I Had to get my nails done quickly before a friends wedding.
