It pains me to leave this review as Alex and his team worked very hard and were very professional. However, their "trimming" went way beyond what we had discussed and we are very unhappy with how much was cut off our trees. We had them trim trees in the back and the front as well as take out tree in the back and a stalk of a palm like tree in the front. The "trimming" was so extreme that our house looks completely different. What we are most upset about is the front yard. We had two sets of very high jungle palm-like trees in the front. They are very green with lots of big leaves and give our house the character we love. One of Alex's workers or Alex knocked on our door earlier in the year and asked about cutting them down or trimming them. Cutting them down was out of the question as we absolutely love them. Their care kept being left on our front door so I finally had them come to do a trim on them. I told them to take the dead leaves at the top off and "clean them up". I guess what that means to them is to literally massacre them, cutting every single leaf and growth on the plants leaving only the top. They cutoff all these big leaves and babies growing around the bottom of the tree which I never asked them to. When I was asked to come take a look my heart dropped. The workers were very proud of what they did but I could not believe what they had done. I never gave consent for them to completely kill all the growth around the trees. When my wife came home she was so distraught she started crying it was so bad. We can't even look at our house when we come home everyday as it is so bad. I can't understand how anybody would think this would look good or cutting this much off when this was not asked for is ok. Our beautiful sets of trees that gave our home shade and character are just bare stalks now and we can never bring it back. It will probably take years before the trees look anything close to what we wanted them to look like. If you ever hire them you must oversee everything they do or be VERY CLEAR what they will cut because left unattended they will give you an "extreme trim" leaving all the trees very very bare. We've had three trims since we have lived at our house and they cut more than double or even triple what the others did. I wish I could just flash forward a year when the trees have hopefully grown back in as it is so upsetting to us what they did. I have left a before and after photo of the trees in the front so you can see how extreme it was. I walked them through and pointed out exactly what I wanted trimmed in the front and they didn't listen to me. If you want a trim like this then that is fine but this is not what we asked for. They cleaned up after themselves and were very nice and professional I just wish they would have followed my instructions. read more
