Mostly surprised because I booked with a licensed therapist and thought they would be more professional. He also didn't touch my lower body at all. And my nexk actually had more pain afterwards. I had a massage with one of the students and it was ahhhhhhhhh-mazing. I came in with some serious knots in my back and shoulders that needed worked out. The student (Hillary) asked what she should focus on and the amount of pressure. She was super attentive to those areas and applied the perfect amount of pressure. She also spent some time on my pectoral muscles which felt really, really awesome. I didn't really just how tight those muscles were until she started working on them. The room was set at the perfect temperature. I am usually so cold I can't relax. This was just right. There was also some really relaxing music playing, too. And thankfully, there was no chit-chat going on. Nothing kills a good massage quite like a talkative masseuse. I will definitely recommend Hillary to others and will be back myself for more! read more

This place is incredibly unprofessional. I sent an email at the beginning of July requesting an appointment for the spa special (aromatherapy back treatment) and provided some available dates. I waited a week to hear back and never received a response. I then called and reiterated my interest in setting up two separate appointments (for my guy and I) on a weekend with an LMT for the spa special. The receptionist said she'd have a LMT get back to me because they don't seem to want to work weekends. It's been two weeks and I've heard nothing. If you go to book an appointment online, it's obvious that no one wants to work weekends because they're blocked out. So apparently everyone must request a day off work to get a massage at this place now days. Either way, the lack of communication and overall respect for an inquiring customer speaks volumes. I do not recommend this business nor will I support such a lackadaisical establishment. Lame! read more

I was refered in by my mom to see Jordan, but she wasn't available for a couple days and I my roomate & I needed a massage ASAP so we requested someone with strong hands as I have very large knots & tight muscles so I was booked with Vanessa. She did an amazing job, she was very friendly, explained everything beforehand, we talked about my problem areas & pressure. My only 2 issues were the amount of noise outside of the room (we could hear people arguing & talking very loudly) & the stools they used in the room were very loud as well (everytime one of the girls moved her stool to work on a different area it would startle us, which wasn't very relaxing!) If you are looking for a great massage at a reasonable price then this is the place to go. Keep in mind that you are at a school type setting. There will be no spiffy decor waterfalls and fancy pre-massage foot soaks. For $50 I received an hour massage from a licensed massage therapist (even cheaper if you get a student). Again, if your main purpose is to get a good massage and not be charged an arm and a leg to be surrounded by spa frills, this is the place to go! My only complaint was that I paid with debit/credit and they do not let you write in a tip. Of course I did not have cash. I can see this being a big problem for the massage therapists who I am sure appreciate gratuities. I was dead set on tipping because she did a great job so I sent it to her via snail mail. read more

Hot Stone Massage for $40! I had a hot stone massage with a student & it was wonderful. The student was so professional & did such a great job. I would of known no different if they were a licensed professional. No where else can you get such a deal for a hot stone massage. The location is right on Pacific Ave in what used to be a house. I think it's cute. Cozy sort of feel. I highly recommend this place. You can get a massage from a licensed therapist, but I'd save the money & go with a student. I was hoping for 2 hours of bliss but ended up with 1 hr and 10 minutes of meh. My practitioner was incredibly friendly however her energy was at a "9" where mine was at a "3". It wasn't compatible and I felt pressured to be more energized when I was hoping for rest and relaxation. I had a seaweed wrap (60 min) and paid extra for the sauna (60 min). The application of the wrap felt hurried with a lack of loving energy. It also didn't occur until 30 minutes into the session. So the first 30 min was simply waiting in an outdated room with a flickering light that triggered a migraine. The 20-30 min I was in the wrap and left alone was the highlight of the evening along with the shower. 9 shower heads at a beautiful temperature. Unfortunately, the hot water ran out pretty quickly so I had to quickly rinse the conditioner and start my $15 sauna experience. This ended up being 5 minutes in the steam spa. I was never told about the dry sauna until I was leaving. So in essence, I spent $15 for 5 minutes of the steam sauna. Total disappointment. My 2 hour day of bliss ended up with 30 minutes of an enjoyable wrap (minus the laughing and noise from the staff) and 5 minute shower and steam. I should say I came here once before for a massage and LOVED it! Don't know what happened this time, but don't see myself going back read more

I have been here several times and had massages by the students, well worth the money! I even gave my Mom a gift certificate for Mothers Day, she loved it! She said she will be going back as well! I started a new job and after my first day- a 13 hr day with hard labor and a lot of hopping in and out of a tall work truck and I worked until I had muscles failing and I literally could not work anymore- I woke up with my muscles so tight I could barely get out of bed and when I went to sit down my thighs burned so bad I was screaming in pain. So I hopped in the Yelp app and scheduled a 1 hr 50 min deep tissue massage for later the same morning. I almost went the cheaper route and almost scheduled a smaller session but I am so glad I went for the longer one. The massage therapist I saw was Samuel and he did a fantastic job. I will definitely be returning to him once I've completed my training and have a set schedule. All the tightness is completely gone. Also, I have an old neck injury from whiplash I suffered when I was 12 and my neck has always been kinda out of place and a little tight - even with chiropractic care- not to mention I'm a commercial driver so all the head turning tightens my neck up further and he did such a good job my neck feels better than it has in over 2 decades. So I am very happy to say he exceeded my expectations going in. Not only will I be returning but when my husband is back from his trip I plan on scheduling a massage session for him as well. read more

A friend got me a SpaFinder gift card since I'm a new mom of twins and needed some self care time. I made an appointment for a 90 minute massage and a facial and was planning on going early to use their sauna and shower services that they showed on the website. I arrived 40 minutes early and was "greeted" by a very rude receptionist. It felt like my presence was a burden to her the second I walked in. I told her I was there for a massage appointment and wanted to use the sauna and showers before. She rudely told me I couldn't because you have to book the "hydrotherapy" services ahead of time. I was so confused because no where on the website does it say you have to book this ahead of time. There was no way I was going to sit around for 40 minutes doing nothing while I was paying $25/hr for a nanny to watch my babies, so I left and went home. No self care for this mama today I guess. I'll have to find another spa that actually wants my business. read more

I have had a few massages here. I started off with the students since they were so cheap and they do need the practice but found that I needed a bit more trained work. I switched to the LMT'S after a student tried to get me to tip her. I always tip but in these situations it's illegal for a student to receive compensation for massage before they have their license in Washington state. I've been working with Angela and Samuel and they both did a fantastic job. It's worth it to me to spend a little more money on them and tip them! read more

The students and therapists aren't bad, generally speaking. But the facility is fairly run down and in a highly undesirable neighborhood. (The gravel pit like parking lot is definitely not great for the shoes or the car.) The tables are incredibly uncomfortable--lumpy beds and the foam headrests are suffocating. The tiny rooms are claustrophobic with gaudy colours and stains on the walls. The threadbare sheets look like a Goodwill purchases. Worst of all, I could hear everything discussed by the client in the room next to mine--not only distracting, but a little creepy. The staff seems a little disrespectful--particularly to one another. (Maybe some bizarre student-licensee hazing ritual??) The ambience and general disrepair detract from any minor relaxation gleened from the massage. Overall, not really worth the cost or your time, but not awful if someone else pays. read more

This massage school was always a wonderful visit for me. I first went here as a gift certificate recipient. Spa? A fancy way of saying Super Pricey Atmosphere. I received a professional and fantastic therapeutic massage from a student; she did an incredible job. No fancy art or water features, no luxurious designed architecture or murals, but your eyes are closed - you're getting a massage - what do you care? I felt at ease as the student told me her level of training and how she would go about the massage. She had a soothing ocean/water sound CD playing and I drifted off while she relieved my aching shoulders and back. With a private, clean, and professional setting, this is a definite winner. I only wish they had one in West Seattle. I miss going here since moving from Tacoma. read more

For a cheap massage you cant get any better than this! The students are very professional, friendly and they know what they're doing. The place itself is a little different, it looks like it was a house that they turned into a massage school. Be warned, its quite easy to pass up. Its a small house with a sign out front and if you're not paying attention you'll easily pass it up. The rooms itself where nothing special but they still had a very relaxing atmosphere to them. Great massage oils (not just your typical lavender scent), nice music playing and warm beds. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a good massage while staying on budget. read more

Called and booked a couples massage, was told that I would pay $40 per person as an introductory price. (We also were getting master therapists, not students) The woman who was massaging my boyfriend was completely cold and didn't seem like a people person. My masseuse was a very nice, young-ish man, who I have absolutely no complaints towards. We started the massage between 7:05 - 7:10ish and the massage was over by 7:50. We did not get a full hour and at check out the total was $95. Our massages were average at best, won't be coming back. read more

I would love to give this place a great review, but unfortunately they too many strikes against them. I have had several massages here, and have found that this place is really hit or miss. What I mean is that even if you book an appointment you may be cancelled on last minute, or the student massage therapist may just do a no show! I have been called twice now and been cancelled on the day of my appointment with no explanation as to why (both calls I had received were maybe only 1 hour prior to my appointment). Then I recently came in (within the last few months) and the person assigned to me did not show up. Meanwhile my co-worker who came with me was already half hour into her massage . Other practitioners were available to fill in, but they all said they had fulfilled their days massages and so they were really sorry they couldn't help me out but they were done for the day. . Really? To top it all off, the people working there seemed not very apologetic about it. They gave an excuse for this student, when in my mind it is inexcusable to "forget" you have a patient. Probably the wrong field for you to be in if you cannot even remember when you have a massage patient coming in. It seemed that the attitude was because this is a cheaper massage, I should not be very surprised. I guess I expect more because yes, I am still paying for a service. It would be helpful if the staff got some "costumer service" training because I really did not see any. I almost felt as if I was burdening them! I actually just joined Yelp just so I could write this, so I am not normally someone who gets "fired up " easily. Accountability should be taught at school, whatever the profession. Also damage control should be taught. Lastly, I have had some great student massages here. Not all are bad apples. But it takes 3 times for me to say "enough is enough" and I think I will try out some other massage schools in the area.I have heard great things about massage connection, from my co-workers -so perhaps they will be more reliable with bookings! read more

4 1/2 stars! (I don't know how to make a half star.) I had a great experience! I had a massage by a student today and it was very good. The room was pleasant and the bed was warmed, I just wish that it had an arm rest on it. This is not a "fancy" place, but very quaint and charming. I liked the casual atmosphere. Everyone was very friendly. My only suggestion would be to not have clients go through the back door. It was awkward walking into the kitchen where staff was. They just looked at me and I said "Am I in the right place?" and then they welcomed me in. But other than that my whole experience was great. Thanks!
