Trash organization. Charges an arm and a leg and does nothing. Our building manager Joseph Scancarella ignores the tenant complaints.

Which they are losing money because neighbors wanna drop bowling balls, move furniture, break pipes, get into screaming matches in 3-4 in the morning, on going through out the day for 15+ hours day and night, for more than three years. Upstairs avoid the cops, landowners and management. When those groups get called on them for causing noise complaints. Avoid this and Hekemian & Co. They'll block you when you got valid complaints over your neighbors breaking the law.

Ever since Covid they have adopted a money hungry mindset that truly is over the top . I occupy one of the older units that has not had any remodeling or upgrades done in decades, but Every year my rent is raised 4%. Hekemian refuses to cap rent increases for these older units which I feel is predatory. We as tenants are getting less and less service, but the rent keeps going up. Management has begun to nickel and dime all of its residents by taking away almost all visitor parking and turning them into paid spots that tenants could rent. When the last two on sight property managers quit, they only filled one of the spots and this has created a lack in up keep all over the complex. Trash is all over the property and left for days, the laundry rooms are filthy and are not cleaned regularly, as are the washing machines which are also filthy and filled with dog /cat hair from previous washes so clothes are not being fully cleaned, yet they have increased the prices on all laundry machines. It's a blatant money grab, and when property management is approached about all of the above they wait weeks to respond to ultimately give the oh well sorry this is what we have to do to make money spiel.... My lease is coming up for renewal and it kills me to think that I may have to stay one more year and bear the $800 more I have to pay a year. I love my neighbors but the blatant greed is just too much for me to accept. If you can find another management company to rent from, do it.

After calling some other title companies and having no luck, someone recommended Main Street Title and they did not disappoint. I first spoke to Hannah Haarklou, who was amazing. Her confidence that her company could come through for me made me feel at ease. She did everything in her power to turn around the title search in 2 days. Mihae was also an incredible help. She was very responsive and let me know exactly what I needed to be able to close in such a short timeframe. I highly recommend Main Street Title and Settlement. Thank you!! ----- 2 hours before closing, they raised they added additional fees by ~$1,000. It was too late to find another title agency at that time as we had spent 3months to close (which is also much longer than expected. Highly recommend shopping around for title agencies and don't trust this one's list of fees/prices.

DO NOT LIVE HERE…read more This has been a week and a day of my own personal hell on earth. They do not know how to call. They only know how to email which is extremely unprofessional. They say you can move in and have you come 2 hours just to tell you you cannot move in. 12/3/23 - My boyfriend and I tour the brick. The first thing we say to them is "This is urgent. We need to move in on 12/9 because that is when we check out of our hotel" (we have been living in a hotel for 2 weeks before this) Jack, who is giving us our tour, lets us know that that is more than doable. Great! We take the tour and everything seems awesome. One issue is my boyfriend does not get paid until the end of the month with his new job. No problem, jack tells us, you are more than welcome to submit an offer letter. 12/4/23 - We apply to the brick. My boyfriend and I make more than 5 times the rent combined. My boyfriend submits his offer letter, and I submit my paystubs. Cool. 12/6/23.- We hear back from Jack! We just need my boyfriends employer to verify his income and then we will be approved and the move in date is set for 12/9. A little weird we think, but its fine. My boyfriend goes into work and tells his employer to respond to their email. His employer did not get an email. My boyfriend calls the brick and tells them we did not get an email to verify income. No response until the next day. 12/7/23 - The brick responds and says they just got the employers email and will email back asking to send their letterhead. My boyfriends boss sends the letterhead proving his income. No response until the next day. 12/8/23 - Jack says we did everything right and everything looks amazing and we should get approved today, he just needs to hear back from his supervisor. He tells us we need to have certified checks, insurance and the PSEG (electric) ready to go before move in. We get all of those things ready. We pay for insurance. We pay for the PSEG. We pay a $600 holding fee to hold the apartment for a week. We get certified checks totalling almost $6,000 together from the bank. 12/9/23 (move in day) - Jack emails us and says that he still has not heard back from management. Keep in mind, we live 2 hours away, so we are already on our way over. Jack tells us he should hear back today so we can move in. Cool. We get there, cant move in yet. He still hasn't heard back. Notably, we were upset at this point. Whatever. He says he has an appointment right now but will call us in an hour. We cut our losses and leave. An hour later, we get a call from Shannon, not jack. Shannon tells us that the management company isn't in on weekends and we wont hear back until Monday. Now, we are pissed. We moved all of our furniture two hours to this place. Just to be told we will not hear back until Monday. 12/11/23 (today, Monday) - We get a call from Shannon at 9:30am saying that she heard back from management and my boyfriend needs to submit his paystubs. I say to her, last Sunday when we toured, we let you guys know that he does not have a paystub yet, hence why we went through the trouble of getting the offer letter sent and the letterhead. She says it doesn't matter, he needs a paystub. I say ok, let me call him then have him call you. She says ok no problem. Not even 2 minutes later my boyfriend calls back and gets told Shannon is now in a meeting (she did not tell me this). I call them again at 10:30 (gave them an hour for good measure). I tell them I need to speak with Shannon. The concierge tells me he has been telling her to call us back and he even emailed her to tell her and she didn't even answer her own concierge. Whatever. I call again at 11:30, just to see if she is available now. Still nothing, she is not available. Then, she calls my boyfriend back about 10 mins later. She tells him the offer letter he sent isn't a offer letter. We sent the offer letter on Monday, last Monday keep in mind. And they are just now telling us this. At this point we cut our losses and call the Walcott who are amazing, and approve our application within 30 mins.

Absolute worst tenant experience of my life…read more From a creepy maintenance guy who consistently has made passes at me throughout my two years of living here, to a mouse problem in the building this past winter, all the way to the unpleasant experience I have had with Lea Sherman the Collections manager - PLEASE steer clear of CJ Lombardo. If you're looking to live in Hackensack, spend the extra money to live in the other more well-kept properties on Prospect Avenue. These people are crooks, with automatically renewing RESIDENTIAL property leases which is unheard of. They will try to charge you for every little thing in an apartment, not answer messages until 10:30 AM on a business day, and they stop answering calls and most emails after 4 PM daily. The entire experience has stressed me out and made me extremely uncomfortable with every individual who works for the company. Steer clear. I have never encountered a property management company like this one. Nor do I ever hope to again.

DO NOT RENT AT ANY CJ LOMBARDO PROPERTY! THEY WILL SCREW YOU OVER!…read more Now that I have that out of my system... I lived at King Alfred Apartments in Passaic, NJ for 2 years. I was the ideal tenant. Never late on rent payments, never loud, had no neighbors complain about me, etc. Then when it came time for me to move to Brooklyn, NY for another job, I gave CJ Lombardo written notice almost 3 months in advance of my move. Then when I received my returned security deposit check, about a month after my move, I was shocked to see that they charged me a $110 cleaning-up fee and they also deducted one half-month's rent because, they claimed, I didn't give them 60 days written notice. I called and complained but the lady on the other end just ignored everything I had to say, responding with, "if I had a nickel for every time some one told me that". Are you kidding me? How often do you rob people like this? Don't be enticed by the affordability of their apartments. When it comes time for you to end your lease they will rob you with these outlandish fees that you can't complain about because they will not listen nor do they care. And that lady I spoke with, she has no manners or respect for other human beings, it seems like. If you're poor you may not have other options but if you're a young professional working at St. Joseph's hospital in nearby Patterson, there are much better options that may be a little more expensive but the RESPECT is worth it.
