Only tried because of delivery. The guy couldn't find my house even though I'm on a main street corner. Turns out delivery guy is the owner and can't just arrive at a delivery location and ring the bell. He calls you to meet him outside before he arrives to save him time. He has trouble finding addresses (even with google maps showing him exactly where), then calls you says he arrived, then makes you wait outside in the cold for him to actually arrive 10 mins later because he parked a few blocks over, if he arrives at all. Plus delivery times are never as scheduled... ugghh, what good is a delivery service that is aweful at delivery. Waited 4 hours for a delivery, another time was told 2 hours, but arrived in 15 mins. Impossible to plan. (I have a broken leg so delivery was a great idea, I just need 2 mins to go down the stairs to open the door. Their inconsistency makes it impossible to be a customer) Side note, after about 7 or 8 deliveries, owner delivering is aweful. Young staff delivering: awesome and no problems so far. read more

Omg. I just moved to Medford and Im thrilled that I found a liquor store that delivers! They delivered my wine in about half hour and their prices are so reasonable. My lazy Sundays just got better!! read more

The guy behind the counter is the worst. Seems under the influence every time I've gone in. Totally disrespectful to woman and rude. Absolutely awful. Mediocre wine selection that isn't organized well at all and store isn't clean. Bottles are covered in dust and dirt. Drive down the road to Kappy's which has a huge selection and the friendliest staff. read more

The reviewer above nailed it. TERRIBLE prices here. I think a 40 oz of king cobra (disgusting, I know, but used for a relative pricing example), which goes for like 1-2$ everywhere, is like $4.50 at alexanders. 6 packs for like 15 dollars, WHAT?!?! A handle of Bacardi Superior was easily like 10-15$ more expensive here than any other liquor store in Medford. This place is terrible and the only reason to ever go here would be on a Sunday if no where else is open. And you know what, even if it is Sunday and nowhere else is open, go to Woody's Liquors on Broadway in Somerville. Karen (owner of Woody's in Somerville) is awesome and her prices aren't nearly as high as Alexanders, and she is open until at least 11, EVERY single day/holiday. Also, the guys who work at Alexander's are big douche bags. read more

If you are a regular customer of Alexander's These people will go out of their way to get you what you ask for. Especially their delivery drivers. (thanks guys) I work sometimes til 10-11 at night. They close at 11 most nights. I get home and all I want is a good stiff drink and a hot shower. If I do not have my car and use the commuter rail sometimes I don't get home til they are ready to close. But after getting a few deliveries from them they know me. Tonight I called 8 minutes before they closed and told them I'd give a good tip if their driver would take care of me. They were more than happy to help me out cause alot of my business goes to them since they are on my way home and their prices are reasonable. So it just goes to show if you are loyal to a place they will go out of theur way to be loyal to you. I can give no higher praise than that. read more

This place doesn't even deserve one star. We went in store to purchase alcohol and were turned away because of our out of state IDs. The cashier was incredibly rude to us. We had our passports at home so tried to call and have it delivered so we didn't have to drive all the way back. The same cashier answered the phone and kept cutting me off finally saying "are you going to get it or not" just while trying to explain our address. He then just hung up the phone in the middle of me talking to him. We tried to call back and was sent right to voicemail three times. The staff here is very rude and I will no longer be purchasing anything from this business. read more

THEY DELIVER!! I have friends that are so jealous of getting liquor deliveries to my house. I see people complaining about price on some of these reviews - I buy a lot of wine and the pricing is very close to what I see at other stores and honestly I'll pay whatever because THEY DELIVER!!! They know their wines I think too - they were out of Layer Cake Malbec and picked two Malbecs for me to substitute both were fantastic but the Bodini was phenomenal and less expensive than the Layer Cake. This liquor store is good if you are in a drunken stupor and need some alcohol delivered. But if you are getting some alcohol to start your night off you should seriously go elsewhere because THEY ARE SO EXPENSIVE. A 750 of Captain Morgans is $28!!!!!! This is generally my go to liquor store even though I live closer to Pumpsy's in Malden. The prices are decent and they have a great selection of beers especially. It's the only place I know of where I can get Baltika (delicious Russian beer) and Georgian semi sweet red wine. The two guys that run it are friendly and will order items for you. They recently expanded their space so now they carry twice as many beers. read more

These guys are wicked friendly. The price is a little high apparently but it's worth the convenience (plus they deliver). Their selections are good . Their sake choices, however, is a little disappointing but we're beer and cider people anyway. read more

Absolutely horrendous customer service. I just called for delivery and whoever was on the phone continually spoke over me and asked me repeated questions, all the while dealing with customers in the store, talking into the phone. I find this place CONVENIENT as I can do my food shopping at Stop and Shop, pick up those little "needed" things at Rite Aid, and then just swing into Alexander's Liquorsall in ONE stop. I don't whine over paying a buck or two more because of the convenience. AND the owners are very nice. Plus a better selection than my corner packy. I am in complete and utter shock.... I just ordered from this place!! I waited 1 1/2 hr for a delivery... Then the person shows up and says it's $20.00 for a 12 pack of Twisted tea.?.?. OK whatever its high but I was willing to pay I handed the person a $20.00 bill I was counting my money to give this guy a tip and he said that's it... I was in shock so I said yeah that's it. You don't ask for a tip.. but I was going to give him some but with that attitude you are not getting sh!t from me.. I then bent down to get my tea and the guy riped the tea out of my hand... He said I give you your money back!! he walked away with the order... I am SO upset I call the store back to tell them what happened and they tell me that is what this man is supposed to do...Then he starts mouthing off to me... How unprofessional is that.. I can't believe these people are still in business... I will never use these people for anything... I don't care how late they are open... This is crazy!!!
