He then gave me a prescription for the same medication in pill form. At that visit, he also ordered a 24 hour urine collection. I came to him because of extreme fatigue and joint pain. My primary doc referred me to him. Back to the pills: they made me deathly ill. I called dr. Marshall with this news and he advised me to continue taking them. I read the side effects and discovered that the medication could shut my adrenal glands down. I decided to just not take them any more. Well, a little while after my call to him, he called advising me to get myself to the hospital in a hurry because the 24 hour urine that he had collected showed a problem with my kidneys. Long story shorter, I was in renal failure, After MRI I was dx with Addison's Disease - Adrenal gland insufficiency. I truly do believe that it was the Cortisol injections and pills that shut down my adrenal glands. When I changed doctors, the new doc sent a request to dr. Marshall for my medical records, which he has never honored. I have been on total Cortisol (the hormone that the adrenal glands produce) replacement since. I'm doing ok, but I have never let go of the fact that I believe that dr. Marshall overdosed me with Cortisol, and shut my adrenal glands down.
