First let me say I feel bad I didn't take any photos. I was hungry and talkative. My BFF and I came in for breakfast around 10:30 or so. As our first place we planned was closed still for the holidays. Well I have been meaning to stop in here for a while so today worked out. We walked in seen a soda fountain and a coffee maker (bunn type) also a large glass door fridge with drinks for purchase as well. We walked up to the counter and they have a very good sized menu. I ordered a chicken wrap and my BFF ordered a chicken flatbread. To say the food was tasty is kind of wrong. For a deli this was some seriously yummy food. Now I would have loved a good latte or mocha but plain coffee was all. So we split a Dr Pepper. My wrap was very good and the flat bread was even better. When the person at the counter said she couldn't really offer a suggestion because she liked everything. I so can't wait to come back and try more things. 3.5. Solid spot if you're in the area! On a cute corner in downtown Hamilton. Large outdoor picnic tables and plenty of seating inside. Sandwiches were solid, didn't get the chips that came with the entrees so no opinion on those. Turkey club had a really good amount of meant on it compared to other places I've been, and the bread on both sandwiches was delicious. Will definitely be stopping here if we're in the area again soon. read more

Every time I go the wait is so long I spend my entire lunch break just waiting to order and get my food. I've tried to call ahead several times and no one ever answers the phone. He never has enough help or any at all. I have over heard the owner speak to his employees very rudely also. I have tried several items there. Today, after waiting 30 minutes to even order I decided to try the adult macaroni bowl. It was horrible! I know he had to have microwaved it. The macaroni was bland. The chicken tenders were chewy. Every sweet I have tried there has not been fresh baked. I've had a muffin, cookie, cheesecake. All bad. Now that my gift card is empty I will never be back. Yum! Now this is a sandwich! Finally made it in after driving by all the time and saying "Hey we need to try them out sometime!" We came in for a late lunch over the weekend and were greeted with a warm welcome. I ordered the turkey club and it was fresh and delicious! My wife and I shared the Italian sandwich. It was served on a French baguette with ham , salami, pepperoni, provolone cheese, and pickled red onions, lettuce, and tomato with a spicy garlic dressing. It was a fantastic sandwich. The service was very good and the people were very friendly. We definitely will be returning and highly recommend this business. Tried this restaurant for the first time last weekend. The food was mediocre, and the restaurant had a myriad of different food safety violations. The employee at the handoff area gave me my form after grabbing it by the tines with his bare hands. Multiple workers had long hair that wasn't tied up and no hair nets. I had a hair in my sandwich and the ice dispenser was broken, so they just left a bin of ice in the sink by the fountain. Gross all-around. I had the impression that the food would at least seem made from scratch, but it all seemed to be made from frozen. read more

I went to this place because it says it's a market and I wanted milk, but they only have tiny bottles of flavored milk, so I think they should change their name to, "Alexander's Deli". Even though they failed me on the market part, the people were friendly, so I'm giving them 3 stars just for that. So basically as long as the food is 2-stars or better, this is a 5-star place. GRAND OPENING - May 1, 2018 Hamilton said goodbye to an old deli that had been apart of the community for decades. But, when it folded, some were not ready to move on. So, a new owner- with a fresh and new outlook- swooped the place up and renovated it and hired a well-established chef to create more than a deli menu, but a menu that would bring customers back to their Southern roots. I was invited, along with many other bloggers and fans, to try out the joint prior to their opening. The dinner started off with an open salad bar containing the freshest ingrediates possible. The bar, which was similar to what is to be expected on any given day at the deli, included items such as a mix of greens, fresh spinach, artichoke, and many of the normal items found for a fresh salad. It also included fresh, homemade salad dressings. It also included cole slaw, pastas and the best potato salad that's I've ever tasted. Fresh salad and homemade soup "The potato salad is something my grandma taught be when I was younger," Chef Rachel Given said. "I also brought with me her recipe for the rotisserie chicken salad that we now offer." Then, we had samplings of the following sandwiches and soup: The Hamiltonian: This was the best sandwich, hands down. I loved it and if you know me, I loathe lunchmeat. But, this roast beef sandwich was anything but a slice of lunchmeat between two pieces of bread. It was a piece of Heaven sandwiched between a pretzel bun, topped with rich and creamy, homemade cole slaw, melted cheddar cheese and some sort of sauce and caramelized onions. It was delicious. The Italian: This sandwich was beautiful. Look at the color! It's served warm on a whole wheat bun that's grilled and toasted. It had ham, turkey, melted cheese, tomato, lettuce and picked onions. Other people loved it. I probably would have if I liked Italian sandwiches, but I don't. But, the bread was delicious and it presented well. Plucked and Pickled: This was a turkey, bacon sandwich with pickled onions with spinach artichoke spread on toasted sour dough bread. I'll be honest, I didn't even try it. I missed the rotation  because I was too busy talking. But, it smelled really good and the name itself makes it appealing. Maybe the next visit I'll try it out. Chile Chicken Queso Soup: This was hands down the best item I ate. The soup is a homemade bowl of wonder. It has just the right amount of kick to it and leaves the taste buds begging for more. I probably would have asked for a whole container of it to take home if I wasn't so shy. As far as soups, the owner, Les Rudisell, said that they would be offering at least two different homemade soups each day. I'm sure the other ones will be just as good as this chicken queso, but if you are lucky enough to catch it, grab it for sure. Located right across the street from the courthouse, this deli is going to be very busy during the lunch hour. Ordering ahead might be the thing to do, especially in Hamilton where there isn't many other choices of food in this area. This old location has a totally new look and a new vibe. Rudisell had to keep the name Alexander's because the city demanded it, but he gave the name a new look at well- with a new logo. This small change was just enough to make it all his own. So, don't be fooled by the name, thinking it is the same place. It's new, fresh, and exciting. Alexander's takes great pride in keeping the menu fresh and healthy. Isn't that where the food industry seems to be headed now? It's refreshing when places like this are looking out for the best interest of it's customer's health and well-being. Great little gem of a deli located within walking distance of the hotel where I stayed. I grabbed the ham and bacon club (1st sandwich on the menu). It was excellent! The staff was extremely kind and helpful and the restaurant is kept clean. If I worked downtown Hamilton, I imagine I'd be eating here quite often. Try it out! read more

This place has good food but the older almost bald guy with glasses treats the other employees bad. I saw him being very rude to the other employees on a few occasions and I don't like it. It makes me not want to come here having to witness that and I'm unsure if I should say something to him or not. I do hope the other employees will find work elsewhere where they will be treated right. read more

This was a place that I stumbled into by accident. I was cold and their sign out front said SOUP! Your food was amazing! My daughter and I had the Roasted Red Pepper soup and the Mushroom soup. Both soups were very tasty on a cold day. I had to fight my daughter over the Mushroom soup. We than had the Appley Ever After sandwich. Very good! The owner came over when he heard us debating on which sandwich to have. One of the sandwiches was not available but he had another chicken sandwich. His intervention prevented us from being disappointed on selecting a sandwich that he did not have. But I am coming back one day for that "This Little Piggie" sandwich! It sounds amazing. Les and his team have created my favorite go to spot for sandwiches and wraps. The staff is quick and friendly. The food is delicious and reasonably priced.
