It pains me to leave a bad review because I know how hard it is to run a small business. At the same time, honest feedback is how businesses improve. The pancakes were some of the worst I've had. They tasted like they were made from the cheapest pancake mix available, and the butter was a vegetable oil spread that separated back into oil as soon as it got warm. It completely ruined the meal. On a positive note, our server did a good job and was attentive throughout our visit. What surprised me the most was the pricing. The food was more expensive than Cracker Barrel, yet the quality wasn't even close. I want to support local mom and pop restaurants, but they still have to deliver a product that's worth the price. I hope they make some changes because I'd rather see them improve than close. As it stands today, I can't recommend it and I won't be back. read more

Ok... so I actually do like this restaurant. It's like getting home cooked food, not simple Like IHOP or Denny's. BUT, there customer services isn't the greatest. And on multiple occasions they messed up our order. So make sure you double check they got it correct. I've never dined in because it wasn't a comfortable environment for me, being brown skinned. When I walked in I felt all eyes on me. It's a small restaurant and it's like everybody knows each other and has been goin there for a while. And the worst thing to me, I ordered corn beef hash one time and the worker told me that they ran out and the manager went to family dollar to get some more. I felt that wasn't necessary to tell me. It just completely turned my stomach. They could have kept to themselves. I know times is hard for businesses but I don't know, I jus didn't like that information. This restaurant though has great breakfast specials, particularly the omelettes we love. I give them 2.5 stars. read more

A great hole in the wall at the border of Lockland and Reading. This small family owned restaurant has the home town feel. Since one server was out, service was slow until more help arrived. Then it was acceptable. It is clean. The setting style was outdated. The coffee was top notch. You can't go wrong with pancakes. The fresh strawberries made it better. 8:35am Started off with a great communication as we were met very swiftly by the server Ashley. I asked her opinion of the menu I was given a very direct and honest opinion which was very well needed. 8:45am I ordered special #1 (2 eggs, home fries, 1/2 order biscuits and gravy). My company ordered special #4 ( 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon and 2 pancakes) the prices are very reasonable the surroundings are very quiet with the news playing above the Expo area. It's very clean, neat and put together 8:54am food came out faster than expected and beautifully plated. The cook did a very good job of cooking it to the temperature we asked for and plating it. It wasn't until I began eating that I realized that I hadn't even begun to drink my drink the food came out so fast 9:08am The food was good. Very well prepared and met all of the standards where you eat it with your eyes before you see it. Then I can smell it and then it tasted great so it met all three points. This place is like Cheers...the waitresses know all the regulars by name! My 88 y/o dad used to come here frequently but hasn't been in awhile and they were so happy to see him! Made my heart warm. Nicole was our server and she took great care of us, even stopping by a few times to chat with my dad. Iconic restaurant it's very spacious and light on the inside where you can sit in a booth, at a table, or at the counter (how fun would that be). M-F menu boasts a large variety of breakfast entrees, sandwiches and salads. Sat/Sun it's breakfast only. Every day there is a special. I had an omelette with ham, sausage, bacon, tomatoes, green pepper, mushrooms and cheese. Get the home fries...they're potato cubes made in house and tossed on the griddle. Next time you need a cheap easy meal, do yourself a favor - Skip Perkins, forget about Fritch's, and (dare I say it) bypass Waffle House too. (And I happen to like all three of those places: but sometimes, ya gotta go the extra few miles and do what you gotta do.) Bridge House is a winner, and I'll be back. It was one of those less common times when we needed breakfast out, but locally. Wanted to try something new as well as locally owned/independent. What I got was a delightful experience, great food, and friendly service. Yeah, the place has been in ongoing operation for decades, so you know they are doing something right. It has the vibe of the quintessential small urban diner/restaurant. I do not agree that it had a 1950s feel to it, it was rather more of a timeless feel. Clean and bright; plenty of booths, also tables, plus a great 3-sided counter. Would work for solo dining, couple, family, or even a respectable sized group. The full menu featured breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Monday to Friday they are open until 8 PM, with breakfast available all the time. Daily specials, and they have a printed monthly calendar showing the specials for every day of the month! How cool is that? Sorry I can't give you a URL - you have to just pass by and pick up a copy. :-) There were not too many "breakfast combos" listed; many of the breakfast items were à la carte. We were pretty hungry, and we wanted what we wanted, so we were prepared to possibly end up paying on the higher end, but were pleased that our waitress figured out a manner of doing combo substitutions to keep the price as low as possible! And she volunteered to do this. Between the two of us we had four eggs, toast, hash browns, home fries, fried bologna, side of ham, and an enormous hot cake plus two cups of coffee, $21 with the tax. I noticed on the menu that the deep-fried chicken dinner states "please allow 25 minutes." Meaning, of course, it's cooked fresh to order. There is plenty to choose from for lunch and dinner. I am keeping this one bookmarked and will definitely return for an afternoon meal one day soon I hope. I've a feeling this place gets pretty crowded for weekend breakfasts and probably at the peak lunch/dinner hour too. Give it a try, you'll understand why. read more

I lived in Wyoming for a long time and never made it over to this place. Now I'm kicking myself in the rear and wondering why I never made it over here... this place is AWESOME!!! It's definitely not what I expected walking in but that was also a good thing. The waitress told us to sit wherever we wanted and she was super sweet. She called us hon and sweetie the whole time. I felt right at home. The only problem we had was trying to figure out what we wanted! There were so many good things on the menu to try that we went back and forth for a few minutes. The waitress came over and asked us if we were ready.. we told her we'd need a minute and she said "Take your time, we're open till 8." Everyone laughed, including us.. When we finally ordered, we got our food fast & it was tasty. I'm a sucker for goetta and they delivered. :) I will definitely head back there again for some greasy goodness. Who doesn't love a classic breakfast? Or, if that's not your thing, how about diner food? Now, don't get me wrong, I enjoy the occasional Waffle House, but this place has a little extra spark to it. I had a typical breakfast: eggs, toast, pancake, and hashbrowns. The hashbrowns were smothered in cheese, but they weren't too greasy, which is what I like. Everything was cooked just right. There aren't a ton of places to eat in Reading, which makes this venue even more appealing. (Imagine finding a cold bottle of water during a hot Arizona day--like that kind of appealing.) Great little find on our first trip to Cincinnati. Read the reviews and since we love little hole in the wall diners we thought we'd give it a go. When we walked in we could tell it was a places where everyone is a regular customer because the entire place looked up at us as we came in. Charming place with fun atmosphere. I ordered an omelet and hash browns and my husband had the chicken philly. We also ordered french toast because the table next to us had ordered it and it looked tasty. The bread for my husband's sandwich was super buttery and grilled. It was great for a diner philly. My omelet was cooked perfectly and the French Toast was just like how grandma used to make it. The single most memorable place I have ever been. Born and raised in Reading, I have been coming here for some time now. This gem was one of the most looked forward to places to come home to after my time on active duty even. The portions are perfect. The food has never been bad. The service has changed for both the good and bad over the years but never terrible. The price is fair but the real riches are in the atmosphere. Seeing the history both on the walls and in the booths make this establishment one of my few happy places. Everyone I have invited to have a meal with me here has said the same(except one girl who said her omelet had too much cheese, I no longer speak to her anymore). read more
