Really great classic dinner menu options with unreal prices! So affordable. The service was great, definitely a local joint with lots of regulars.

A great hole in the wall at the border of Lockland and Reading. This small family owned restaurant has the home town feel. Since one server was out, service was slow until more help arrived. Then it was acceptable. It is clean. The setting style was outdated. The coffee was top notch. You can't go wrong with pancakes. The fresh strawberries made it better. My wife's poached eggs were not done right. She wanted them hard, but they were more easy and runny. I liked the place.

8:35am Started off with a great communication as we were met very swiftly by the server Ashley. I asked her opinion of the menu I was given a very direct and honest opinion which was very well needed. 8:45am I ordered special #1 (2 eggs, home fries, 1/2 order biscuits and gravy). My company ordered special #4 ( 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon and 2 pancakes) the prices are very reasonable the surroundings are very quiet with the news playing above the Expo area. It's very clean, neat and put together 8:54am food came out faster than expected and beautifully plated. The cook did a very good job of cooking it to the temperature we asked for and plating it. It wasn't until I began eating that I realized that I hadn't even begun to drink my drink the food came out so fast 9:08am The food was good. Very well prepared and met all of the standards where you eat it with your eyes before you see it. Then I can smell it and then it tasted great so it met all three points. Our server Ashley was very attentive to everything and I would definitely recommend trying this place

Restaurant is very welcoming. Staff is nice. Food was good. I ordered the scrambled egg and hash with toast. Definitely will be coming back.

Bridge House in Reading, Ohio. Sit in booth, at table, or at counter. Bright and spacious inside.

This place is like Cheers...the waitresses know all the regulars by name! My 88 y/o dad used to come here frequently but hasn't been in awhile and they were so happy to see him! Made my heart warm. Nicole was our server and she took great care of us, even stopping by a few times to chat with my dad. Iconic restaurant it's very spacious and light on the inside where you can sit in a booth, at a table, or at the counter (how fun would that be). M-F menu boasts a large variety of breakfast entrees, sandwiches and salads. Sat/Sun it's breakfast only. Every day there is a special. I had an omelette with ham, sausage, bacon, tomatoes, green pepper, mushrooms and cheese. Get the home fries...they're potato cubes made in house and tossed on the griddle. My dad had the French toast...6 pieces, very fluffy. Nice place to stop in, has their own parking lot too.

Tried the bridge house for breakfast. It was a neat old location and cozy vibe. The service was great, but unfortunately the food was just ok with small portions. Will eventually venture back to give it another shot but wasn't impressed with the first round. The tenders also came with a small order of fries not pictured.

We love coming here for breakfast. Quaint little diner under the bridge, literally. Always solid food and service. Omelet, pancakes, eggs, goetta, toast and coffee are good. Much preferred to expensive 'boutique' establishments.

    Cross the bridge!

Told to find a seat and we could only order breakfast, fine, no big! Then a gentlemen comes from the kitchen and says hes turning off the open sign and we were the last table ... we get it, you could have just said you were closing early instead of making us feel so unwelcomed. The food was good, made by Lucy herself but the entire time we felt so uncomfortable. The server was sweet when we sat down but never checked on us, got refills or noticed when we were done to drop our check.... We ate quickly, paid our bill and walked out the door by 140p

It was a Sunday and we were immediately told that they are Breakfast only on Sunday. I'm not certain if this is every Sunday or just that day, so keep that in mind. The service was fast and friendly. It wasn't very busy when we stopped in so we didn't have to wait on anything. I had ordered the Strawberry Pancakes. Not to be discouraging, but they weren't anything special. The cakes themselves were quite dense and heavy, so they filled you up easily. The strawberries on top were little to be desired. It was more of a strawberry jam that was put on top. Considering that a solid strawberry topping consists of a few minutes of cooking up fresh strawberries, sugar and water, I was disappointed with the topping. It truly is a bare bones diner. Nothing fancy, but that's okay. Good food and good service goes miles above anything else. They've got the service down perfectly. The only other thing that might be a helpful, yet discouraging, comment would be the front desk area. When you walk in, there is a front counter that you pay at. It's very visible and it's the first thing you see when you walk in. You see the counter and a fish tank right behind it. The state of the counter and the fish tank need work. The counter is cluttered and just looks dirty. Now, if this was an office in the back, so be it. My office is sometimes a cluttered mess. But this dusty cluttered mess is right in the front and center of this restaurant. I can't help but think what areas look like that I can't see. The fish tank would be a nice touch of ambiance however it too is pretty dank and dirty looking. If you're going to have it right there where everyone can see, you need to put a little effort into making it presentable. These may sound like harsh points, but they are honest observations. Would I go back? It's not very local to me, so probably not. But, if I was in the area, I would absolutely give Lucy's Diner another shot at lunch. I wasn't blown away during my first visit.

I ordered the chicken salad sandwich, and unfortunately it tasted awful. The chicken salad itself wasn't good, with very large chunks of onion that completely overpowered the flavor. I thought they (slaw & banana pudding) were a little pricy for the size, but they were both tasted very fresh and delicous. I bought the slaw to make a slaw dog when I got home, but ended up eating it all up, as is. The banana pudding was absolutely delicious. I was so disappointed when I got home & realize 1/2 of it had spilled into my bag (my fault). For my son's birthday I ordered a large family size banana pudding. It did not disappoint! It was just as delicious as the individual one I had weeks earlier! I would say 3/4 cup would be a serving size. 13 people had some and some had 2nds and the birthday man had 3rds and we still had about a serving or 2 left over (b/c I hid it). I think b/c it was so good we wanted more of it, so depending on your group size & appetite you may want to order more than one or have other desserts on hand to either lure them away from the pudding or to have as back up (that's what I did). I do believe if I would've had another one the other desserts would've gone untouched. Honestly, I did think it was a little pricy for the size, especially since we had another tasty dessert just slightly smaller than the banana pudding size and it was $10. The fact that it was delicious helped, it would've been like adding insult to injury if it would've been pricy and nasty. Certhainly not the case here. Everyone absolutely enjoyed it! Thank you Vonderhaar's. *tip order at least 48hrs in advance, I ordered 24hrs in advance & got lucky. Truly, it's best to call & ask how much notice is needed. Every Saturday we see them grilling out on the sidewalk on Wyoming avenue and wanted to stop by. It's such a fun tradition that's worth the stop off 75- you can take a walk around Wyoming Avenue to the Village Green or Crescent Park if it's a nice day! The shop is neat and cozy inside. They've got a great selection of wines and cold drinks. The only reason I took off a star is that the ordering process can be a little confusing. There was a handwritten sign for sandwiches, and some premade sandwiches in the case. But they looked a little bare- it wasn't clear that they came with toppings, could be warmed up, customized, etc. I took the leap and ordered one- the turkey and Colby on sourdough- and I found out that I could add toppings and that my bread was toasted. But I couldn't see them while making it to know whether it was made fresh or one of the ones in the display case. The sandwich was good- don't get me wrong! But it was a little basic for $13- mayo, lettuce, tomato (light on the toppings), red onion, and pickle. I think one thing that could've helped was some more specialty condiments- Dijon or dark mustard, a speciality aioli, etc. and the pickles were room temp dark green pickles (not fresh). Some fresh, crunchy homemade pickles would have taken this to the next level and really amplified that high quality meat that you're paying for. To the same point, none of the yummy looking salads or sides were labeled in the case. How much were they? Did they contain allergens? Could I get them as a side for my sandwich? Overall a great spot and we'll be back! But I'm left wondering if I'm getting the full experience or not because of the lack of ordering instructions inside. Oh- the staff were friendly and I'm sure could make up the difference! They happened to be busy because of the busy festival outside though, so I'm sure on a normal day they'd be able to provide more information.

Chef does explain the food before we had each dish, however we wished there was more background and history as to how this place came into being. So expect fantastic food without a lot of details. The first dish was a salad made with all local ingredients. It was so fresh and the dressing made with fresh dill was fantastic. The second dish was a ravioli with northern Italian cheese on a bed of butternut squash puree and brown butter. The pasta was SO delicate and the flavors complimented each other so well. The third dish was a 6 hour braised pork shoulder with ricotta gnocchi in a sauce with Calabrian chilis and I don't know what else. We have been to Italy and all the Italian restaurants in Cincinnati and never had anything like this. It was truly phenomenal. Dessert was a apple upside down cake served warm with whipped cream...fantastic. The driving range was also pretty cheap for buckets of balls - it would be a fun afternoon to bring the dads for driving range, the kids for mini golf and the moms can eat food and hang or enjoy the range as well. The food looked good, but we did not partake - the drinks were decently well priced - a can of beer 3.50 - a sway was 6 bucks.
