Not a fan. Ordered the Philly Cheese Steak and the J's Big Beef to go. The girl at the counter was lovely. While I was waiting for the grinders, the music was so loud and very hard rock. It was obviously played for the employees and not the customers. Both of the grinder's bread was so hard that it was hard to eat. The filling was lean, the onions were raw and not sauteed, and there was not enough cheese. I cannot recommend this place. Penn station is much better.

The menu! Love the sandwich names!

This is one of Cincinnati's best kept secrets!!!! The staff was friendly, the food was fresh and hot and delicious!!! My BFF and I stopped for a quick lunch and struck gold!!! The sandwich names are funny; the signage is cute! Love! Can't wait to come back!

The only way I can describe the sandwich I had at this place was orgasmic. The potato salad was the best potato salad I've ever had. Had a very delicious bacon flavor, topped with shredded cheese. The sandwich I had was the fat bastard. This is a loaded Italian with sausage added, mayo, and Italian dressing. The bread is baked to perfection and smashed for your grinder experience. The place was filling up as I sat down to eat. Very popular and rightly so. I've had sandwiches all over the country and all over the world and the fat bastard was definitely a top 10 sandwich. Parking is somewhat limited and the restaurant can be tricky to get to but well worth the effort. I will definitely be back for other sandwiches.

It has a small town no fuss sandwich shop feel. However, the sandwiches are fantastic! Better the Jersey Mikes. Will come back!

Turkey sub with soup

Saw the great reviews, so I was eager to grab a sub for lunch with my gf. I ordered online and the older gentleman was patient and helpful with my order. We went to pick it up, location is a little off putting, but once you get in there, we were greeted by a nice cashier. Toasted and hot subs were ready, grabbed some chips, went back to the house. I was really excited to dig in, the deals online look like you really get a lot on your sub for $10. I went the club but they were out of roast beef. So I decided I'll do no ham then, and just do all turkey. I thought I'd get the turkey subbed for the other meat but it looks like I just got what was originally going to be on there. Not very much. The toast was nice and the flavor with the lettuce and the mayo, great, just not enough of all the fillings and meat. The soup was not my thing. Also got a cheese bread, could have been toasted a lot more. Overall not sure if I'll be back. But the good reviews are tempting.

I drove past this place numerous times and it always intrigued me. It's in a random strip mall surrounded by factories and warehouses. Dark. Not easily identifiable. Easily passed up. My favorite kind of place to investigate. At this point I've been here a few times. Familiar faces. Staff is welcoming, incredibly friendly. A homey kind of feeling. The menu is entertaining to read. It's also one of those menus where everything sounds good and a decision is nearly impossible. *Trust their recommendations* So far I've had the balboa, the Philly, and the chicken teriyaki. Everything here is so good. It's what penn station wishes it could be. Your sandwich will have perfectly toasted bread. Your ingredients won't be soggy and falling out. Flavors will be explosive and choreographed. I do not know where they could improve besides expanding the menu because clearly they are capable of crafting more delicious concoctions than what you see listed. I day dream of my return and what I want to try next. I also don't recommend places and I've done so 2 more times than any place I've ever reviewed (second place coming in at zero recommendations). This place is solid. Anything you are craving will be satiated and then some. As far as the tristate goes, NEG is king. If anyone has a contender please send them my way, I'm eager for some competition

Fat Bastard

This place is great! It's close to work and the food is great. I'm on my second visit. Both times I have gotten the Fat Bastard. You gotta try it, it's awesome.

Not a chain sub shop... This was a cool place for lunch. The staff was super friendly and helpful with recommendations. The restaurant itself was nothing fancy, but They have a unique menu of subs - I had the balboa sub, which is a combination of a cheese steak and an Italian sub. I really enjoyed the sub, and I had the potato salad as the side, which was really good. I would stop back again when I'm in the area.

First time in today and I got the pastrami sandwich (Just The Tip). Best Sandwich I've had in a long time. I work close buy so I will definitely be back in to try something new soon.

Clam chowder

I've been here once before. This place is only open during the week and mostly during lunch. I was in the area and stopped by to have my wife try it. I had the clam chowder and the Balboa. It's totally different than the other shops as this is a grinder as what New Englander call it. It was made fresh and all I can say it was filling and tasted great. If you are looking to eat in you may have to time it by arriving around 11 am or after 1 pm. Will be going back.

This place is legit. You can't ask for much more, and options for everyone so it's accommodating.

10/10 amazing. Better than Penn station! More options and a local hometown vibe. A must try.

Every sandwich I've tried is delicious! The bread they use really makes the sandwich. The deep dip spicy broccoli soup is spicy perfection!

My grinder was really good. I went at prime lunch time, so there was a bit of a wait. I got a 6" hero and it was just enough to fill me up.

Some aspects of Pendleton Parlor were on point and others left a little to be desired. First, it's…read morelocated in a really lovely part of Pendleton near a part of Broadway that's permanently closed for pedestrians and outdoor dining, so the ambiance is really nice. The inside of the shop is interesting, with knickknacks and things to look at in every corner- kids would love it for this reason! I immediately noticed that there were no prices on the menu... there were cups displayed on the counter with small/medium/large pricing but it wasn't clear what these cups were for- it looked like shakes. It was very off-putting for me to not know the prices of what I'm ordering, especially with more specialty items like cookie dough or coffee/ice cream creations where I can't predict a standard price. Second, there was only one dairy-free option... a cookies and cream ice cream. While it was tasty, it was my only option and that never feels great to order something because you have to. It also didn't have a description or any info available so I was left wondering what made it nondairy... almond? Coconut? Oil? Of course at a creamy whip type place I'm not going to expect the entire menu to accommodate me, but it's nice when there are at least a couple other options- especially with coffee, it would be easy to have a nondairy milk available or a sorbet/dole whip since they already carry many flavors. I tried a tiny bite of my husband's edible cookie dough and it was delicious! Seemed really sweet though- he could barely finish his side by side because it was so sugary--a good problem to have :)) I think I would go back if I had friends with me or happened to be in the area for Blink or the pool or something, but otherwise I would probably choose somewhere else where I have more options s and I know what I'm going to spend.
