Good day fellow Yelpers! This morning we were looking for an early lunch joint and the first place we stopped was packed so, we decided to stop at another place to try something new. First of all, walk in the back door, not the front. The outside area has a nice seating area but no shade, still good for a good weather day visit. Inside is old school, you can definitely tell as soon as you walk in, it's hasn't been updated in a LONG time but honestly it's kinda cool to see it in what was probably pretty close to how it originally looked. Walk around the counter to place your order with the menu clearly displayed on the wall. The chef is a one man show and cooked to order. He was friendly and attentive despite being alone. On to the food... Finally a place that salts fries properly without needing more. It's the little things for me I normally have to ask for salt every where but they were piping hot and salty!! I ate the smothered chicken sandwich. Fresh slice of tomato, well seasoned roaster bell peppers were the highlight. I felt it lacked seasoning but maybe I'm too much of a sodium junky. The red aioli seemed too thin but that could have been due to the juicy tomato. Bacon Cheeseburger was fresh and the toasted italian was good. Burger of course was sliding off the bread every time a bite was taken. This is a solid place to try. I'm secretly wishing we would have gotten breakfast but that we'll do next time. read more

Joe is a one man show of awesomeness. Be prepared for a little bit of a wait as he makes all the food to order, and trust me, it's worth the wait! This morning we had breakfast- and not only does he source the food locally, but offers a lot of menu items for the kids menu as well- which is so helpful when you have had a surgery like I have that prohibits large meals. It has a small town vibe inside, and the food is fantastic. Almost didn't write a review, because I wanted to keep this gem to myself, but he deserves praise for a wonderful cafe that hits all the flavor boxes every time. Thank you Joe!! read more

You order at the counter and they bring the food to the table. Under our table was some spilled liquid. Had to enter thru the back door due to front door being locked. We got the Pulled Pork sandwich which was basically boring with little taste. The side of BBQ sauce was unedible. Just had an odd taste. The side salad seemed pretty fresh. We also got the kids chicken tenders with fries. The fries were good and the tenders were pretty good except for the ranch dip. It was odd tasting. Waitress never came back to check on us. They were not at all busy. I would next time find a different place and read the Yelp reviews. Darn it. Win some you lose some. Had an event in downtown Lebanon on a Saturday and wanted to grab lunch with a friend. Decided to give this a try. Staff is super friendly. Not a ton of indoor seating available, but enough. We ordered burgers and fries and a beverage. My meal of burger, fries, and tea was $12.50. We waited for quite a while for our food. Tbis place is not a fast food joint. Keep that in mind. They have 1 cook. Every order is made fresh to order. I heard them tell other people that came in later that it would be a 30 min wait. So, remember that if you are looking for something quick. My food was good. The bread on the burger was a little crunchy/hard, but not bad. My fries seemed over salted and were not super hot/fresh. The tea is UNsweet, but they have packets of sweetener. The breakfast food looked amazing that other people ordered. Might go back for that. read more

I was in the area and searched for a place to grab a little bite for breakfast. I am not a fan of chains, and this place was close, so I figured, why not? They have their own small parking lot, which I liked over street parking. When I first walked in, I wasn't sure if I was to wait for a seat or what the ordering process was at this cafe. After a quick scan of the place, I realized you ordered at the counter and they bring the food to your table. Most of the tables were full of people already, but we were able to find seating. There was a menu on the wall with various breakfast and lunch items. Most looked to be made from scratch, which was impressive! I ordered the half order of buttermilk biscuits and sausage gravy, which comes with potatoes and added two eggs. My son opted for the Italian sub with fries. He ordered hot chocolate and I opted for a coffee. The wait was about 30 minutes for our food, which was understandable as they were working with a very small crew --keep in mind it was the week of Christmas! The two workers I saw were very friendly and quickly working the entire time. We both loved our food, even though the wait was quite long. It was definitely worth it! I am a biscuit and gravy snob and I would definitely eat it again. My son's Italian sub was perfect with hand cut french fries. He absolutely loved his hot chocolate. The coffee was not the best and my eggs were a little salty. That's probably my only complaint. Overall: if you are in a hurry, this is not the place for you. If you want delicious food made from scratch with a small hometown feel, and don't mind the wait, I highly suggest you give it a try! read more

We tried to try somewhere new this morning. The front door said use back door, we walked in the back and we asked the only person there, the cook who was setting up trays, if we seat our selves or if we need to wait. He rudely muttered you order and pay upfront. We waited up front for 10 + mins without being acknowledged with a simple 'be right with you', mind you no one else was waiting and he walked past me multiple times, clearly knowing we didn't know how his restaurant worked. You obviously have to know how this restaurant works to be able to order and eat here. Won't try here again because of service. read more

Cherry Street Cafe has the BEST biscuits and gravy I've ever had! The chicken sandwich and fries is also fantastic. Everything is made from scratch by the owner/chef. The servers are really sweet and do a great job. Remember to be patient for your food if it's busy and take cash to tip your server, as there is no option to tip when you pay with a credit card. read more

My wife and I went there this morning for her birthday breakfast. We both got the meat lovers omelette, sausage and I got unseasoned potatoes not a fan of any seasoning on potatoes. My omelette was well done as ordered. Both our meals were excellent. Highly recommend. Everything is made to order so don't think it's quick service. It is with the wait. i've been going for years and i live about 40 mins away, to day i went to lebanon just for this place. and every time it is wonderful. the food is fantastic. the owner is very nice, and it is very cozy for a breakfast place. all in all i love this place and it'll always be a go to breakfast spot for me. only think i wish was different is a "cashier" or someone there just to help him out. read more

I wish I could rate the food however we got in the door and probably 3 other families was sitting in the dining area and the hostesses told us we could sit immediately but the wait for food would be close to 60 minutes. It was recommended to try the biscuits and gravy. They were really tasty! There was only one guy working and I feel like he did an excellent job considering he was taking the orders AND cooking. There were 5 of us and we all got our food at the same time! Yes, it was a bit of a wait (about 30 minutes), but I was still impressed that the guy managed to do it all. Nearly everything Is homemade here.... Even their bread! Each order is made from fresh to order for each guest. We come regularly and don't bat an eyelash to wait 40 minutes for food. Our orders are ALWAYS fresh, hot and correct. :). And delicious. Joe is the best. Ava is amazing. Stop by and see them. But not too often, I don't want to wait tooooo long for my own breakfast. The bad: The food is mediocre at best. You could make better food at home. The silver dollar pancakes are way too thick, and one of mine was burnt. Now to the biscuits and gravy. The biscuit seemed like it could be good. I definitely wouldn't call what they serve "gravy". It tasted more like melted cheese without enough cheese in it. I can't explain it, but it's not very good. The bacon is thin, comparable to pre-cooked bacon that goes in the microwave. The food also took quite a bit of time for the quality. The good: the customer service was wonderful. She gave us time to figure out what we wanted without rushing us. I love that you order, find your preferred seat, and they bring the food to you. Best breakfast in Lebanon.... Small shop, delicious food made with love. Biscuit and gravy is the best, lots of sausage in the gravy. It's thick without being pastey. Arrived at 11am on a Sunday morning. Tables empty everywhere with dirty dishes on every single one. Food was nothing special and it took well over an hour to receive our food after placing our order. Have been here about half a dozen times since we moved here 3 years ago. Have been here the last two Sundays in a row and both times the first thing said when we get to the counter to place an order is "guys it's about a 45 minute wait right now". I get it there is a labor shortage because people are lazy and prefer to make money from the couch but there were two parties ahead of us and nothing of the sort was said to either of them. Not trying to be a whiney @ss but if you're a small business actively pushing people out the door, it's not a good look. read more

Breakfast spots are hard to come by in Lebanon . We prefer to eat at local places vs. chains. Menu has ok choices and breakfast food is passable . There is only one staff person at the cash register for orders , payment , food and drink delivery, so things can get backed up pretty quickly . Mostly , the environment is pretty grimy and worn down - could use a deep clean and paint / refresh . read more

I stopped in here the other morning for breakfast on the way to the Ohio Ren fest. I came in with my best friend and her daughters. We all ordered a full breakfast and all but one got hot chocolate. Each meal is made fresh after you order so please don't be in a hurry as they have a small kitchen, but it is good food, not amazing, but good. I ordered the French toast with Bacon. The French toast was good, the home fries were a wee overcooked, nothing horrible, but combine that with the bacon being over cooked on just the ends as well sadly this knocks down the rating in my opinion. Will I come back yes. I want to try other food here on a different day to see if things change. I love non-chain places and really do have high hopes that my meal will be better on my next visit. This place is very cute but I was not impressed with anything but the decor and building. It's walkup service, then you seat yourself and they bring your order to you. Their menu is limited (which is not necessarily a bad thing) and their focus is on breakfast and brunch. We ordered half a Caesar salad with a cup of the soup of the day. What struck me as odd was that this took 20 minutes to come out to us. The soup was lukewarm and my salad was wilting. Plus, there were only two other tables there. It was odd. I wish I could say I wished I lived in this area so I could eat here more, but it would have to be free for me to move, lol. We popped in for a quiet lunch and although it's not terribly comfortable inside and is very small, the food is AMAZING. Hubs had a breakfast for lunch and everything was fresh and homemade.I had a turkey club and it was soooo good! Along with house cut fries cooked just right! And it was very reasonable. The place is small and gets full on the weekend, only a few people working so when I went I wasn't greeted or seated for a while.
