My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Berger since we moved to Port Saint Lucie two years ago, we both have since been dismissed this past week by Dr Berger by certified letter for no apparent reason, my wife is currently recovering from her second hip operation and was dismissed without regard for her medications prescribed or refills that may be needed. Very disappointing experience with this medical practice. My wife and I were both patients of Dr. Alexandra Berger. My wife recently had an appointment and blood work done, and then unexpectedly received a letter stating that the practice would no longer see her. We were told that because the doctor was now working alone and had too many patients, the office had conducted what was described to us as a "lottery" to reduce the number of patients. My wife apparently was one of the patients selected to be removed. I find this an extremely disappointing way to handle established patients, especially immediately after a recent visit and blood work. My own experience with the office was also frustrating. I called repeatedly for approximately a week trying to arrange blood testing and could not get anyone to answer my calls. When I called from a different phone number, however, the call was answered. What made the situation even more confusing was that they apparently intended to keep me as a patient while dropping my wife. After everything that happened, I told the office to remove me as a patient as well. Over the time we were patients there, we also experienced frequent changes in assistants and staff, which made continuity of care difficult. We are extremely disappointed with the way this practice handled communication and patient relationships. Regardless of how busy a medical practice becomes, established patients deserve clear communication, consistency, and professional treatment. I was referred by an amazing ENT in Jupiter to Dr. Berger. Haven't even had a chance to meet her because her staff is just horrendously awful. If this was my staff, I would literally send them to some sort of conscious awareness training because they are the rudest people I have ever spoken with. I've been in the healthcare community for over 23 years practitioner myself and there is no way I would ever go and experience what I did just from the office staff. Go somewhere else. It is not worth it at all. Dr. Berg, I hope you do your due diligence and get rid of the staff you have. Feel free to reach out to me. I have not only started ambulatory surgery centers, but have ran them for years and you absolutely need help with the staff. The first time I called a couple days ago the person didn't even pick up the phone and say what facility it was then I left a message for the manager who never called me back. I chose Dr: Berger as my primary care physician when I relocated to Fl. Her staff was always kind and caring but I did not have the experience of being treated by Dr. Berger. During the year her staff seemed to dwindle down and I was left with Dr. Burger attending. My simple visit for a sinus infection turned into an unpleasant medical situation that Dr. Burger did not handle in a professional manner. Been a patient for three years and have never met her. I've never seen the same provider n twice. Seems like a high turnover of staff. With the exception of the medical assistant who takes you vitals, etc. staff is not prepared for your appointments. Last week they sent my meds to the wrong pharmacy. I was a patient of Dr. Berger and I thought she was a good doctor. Out of the blue I got a certified letter saying she was downsizing and she would not be my doctor anymore. I had a prescription that needed to be refilled & the pharmacy couldn't fill it without the doctor's approval. Dr. Berger's office called me stating I needed an appointment (which was already scheduled) but at this point she wasn't going to be my doctor anymore. I got charged for a doctor's phone appointment & so did my insurance company. I think that's called insurance fraud. I never even talked to Dr. Berger. On top of that I have a receipt of paying for my last visit with her and they still saying I owe them. I don't know if she is having financial problems but I'm not going to help pay for her daughter in medical school. read more

Don't understand at all. With all my meds and my serious conditions never thought a professional doctor would be so rude and sneaky as to send a certified letter instead of speaking to me like an adult. Ok this is strange my first appointment went fine with battery of test. I really was just going to establish myself as new patient but I was fine with that. Dr calls me tells me I'm low two vitamins I need to come in every week for a shot of B12. Ok no problem. So I go in ,she had said no appointment needed. For the two weeks I went I'd call for appointment, leave a message, no one answers or returns call. I go in and sit there after being told no problem I'm just a shot they'd get me right in. First time waiting room filled with patients no masks. I waited about half hour then told the office gal Dr told me no appointment needed just come in they will quickly take me right away. Was half hour wait and I stayed outside I'm afraid of catching something while I have out of state Dr appointment. Next week I call and ask can I get an order for Walgreens it's a mile up the road from me or. So and they do shots.. nope it's only once a week. You need to come in. Ok Go in last week half hour drive there and I call for appointment no answer no return Call. So I show up no patients there I sit again in the waiting room no one comes out or bothers with me for about half hour.. you are not permitted to tap on window and I called to say I'm there no answer etc. ok I get my shot and ask again any way to do this at Walgreens as it's half hour there half hour to wait half hour home! They said Dr said yes she will give Walgreens an order for vitamin B12. I said oh great cuz I can't drive.. I have an appointment almost everyday for bloodwork mri ct in Jupiter hospital then fly to Philly for my specialist. Today I get certified mail I'm no longer a patient they are downsizing and how much it will be for my history .. I also had ultrasound done then sent to cardiologist I have no idea of the results? It's hard to get appointments with new Drs nevermind paid for tests that I now have no idea what the results are!! I find it strange that when looking this Dr up she had one review of one star for the same thing. I liked her but the office situation is totally nuts!! No one acknowledges you are waiting there's no one inside the office and they are annoyed if you don't want to just sit there!! I'm kinda shocked!! I think they just wanted to charge for office visits for shots and annoyed I'd even ask to just go to Walgreens! Finally got results of tests they did of course I can't read it so need to find a Dr to read it and they probably won't want to read her tests. The worst doctor I've ever been to! She is cold, rude and insensitive. For no reason at all, she decided to drop my mom at 90 years old as a patient and myself. She said she was downsizing the office. Obviously that was a complete lie because she took my daughter on as a patient just the week before. We were nothing but kind to her and accommodating. I agree with what everyone said about how rude and cold this so called Dr is. When I go there they have about 35 names on the sign in and that is by one o'clock. Berger hasn't been seen in over 10 months. She has new fly by nights that she must be paying by the number of patients seen. Do the math 50 patients a day with a new intern or recently retired dr. I think she is canceling the Medicare patients. This Dr is so miserable and left me high and dry with a certified letter that she is canceling me 3 days before I received the certified letter. I have a new Dr that is 3 months out and apparently Berger doesn't care about renewing my monthly meds. I think she is a lonely old woman sitting home with her cats and collecting all the money that this meat factory produces. I think this might be a blessing in disguise for me who takes my health very serious. Let me start off by saying Dr. Berger is a great family doctor. As for her "office manager" Steve I believe he told his name was if so horrendous at doing his job. Steve after calling me about a bill dated back from October 2021 that was never brought to my attention a few week ago when I was in there for a consult. Not to mention I had only started seeing Dr. Berger December of 2021. Anyways instead of explain my bill to me Steve not only hung up on me but when I called back to speak to the office manager which he stated was himself. Called me unintelligent along with a number of other things to which I will be posting thanks to my recorded phone line. Someone with this NASTY behavior should not working for a good Doctor it unfortunate that in these circumstances it give the Doctor herself a bad name when you have incompetent office staff that cannot hold his feelings together when they are frustrated with a patient for simply asking about a bill. I will NEVER be returning this this office which is once again unfortunate because I thought I had finally found a decent primary care physician to go to but no doctor no mater how great they are is worth the abuse from office staff.
