Excellent place. Very friendly, and seemed interested in helping. As a bit of a techie type myself, I can see that these people know their stuff. We had an obscure problem, but they'd seen it before. They were honest, admitting they had no solution to fix it, but helped me through how to reconfigure the device from a backup I had. In the end, after checking the system and discussing it for quite a while, it was only $20. They offered to do it for us if we wanted, and said we could call if we had any problems. It's good to have a tech place that feels personal and will discuss the issues, not just taking the computer, giving a number, and telling you when to come back. I had a computer issue for a couple of weeks where I couldn't connect to the internet reliably, and sometimes not at all. I changed my settings and tried everything I could think of. I have a 2008 gaming rig that was resetting every minute or so. I wasn't able to test based on the beeps because the motherboard (XFX 680i SLI) does not have a plug jumper for the little speaker. So after testing the ram, ram slots, video cards it was still doing the same. I took out all the coolers, all the drives, I left only the motherboard with the cooler and the video card, but still nothing. I ruled out the Power supply. I went and i ordered a motherboard from amazon for my intel Q6600. When the motherboard arrived I did not pay any attention to the pins in the cpu socket, they were bent. I tried starting up the machine, it would not start at all. I slept on it and the next day i found the pins inside the cpu slot. I thought I burned my CPU since i put the old motherboard in but it wasn't doing anything. I decided to take the rig to alfa computers. It was around 5:15pm, I explained to them what the problem was. Next morning around 10:30 they called me up telling me that they have identified the problem as being the power supply after all. I bought a corsair 750 power supply from them that was at a very good price and the charge for their efforts was close to nothing. I definitely recommend this place! read more

Seriously, this is as good as it gets! I recently dropped and shattered my laptop screen. It was a minor crack but because my laptop is touch screen, it messed with the functionality of the laptop. I went to Geek Squad and they quoted me $400-$500 and it would take 3-4 weeks and it wasn't even guaranteed to work. I called Alfa and explained. He did agree that it was an extensive repair because of the touch screen but if I wanted to come in, he would look at it. He was able to disable the touch function and save me so much time, money and work. It took less than five minutes and was free of charge. After having some terrible experiences with staples I brought my computer to Alfa. The first 2 times I went there the problems were so stupid he fixed them with like 2 keystrokes and didn't charge me! He just asked that I come back to his business if I ever actually had a real problem lol. So I did a year later and he fixed my computer within 24 hours and for a fair price. They said the problem I had was only a 50%solvable issue so I was prepared for the worst, but they fixed it 100%. I had a ten year old Compaq Presario with Windows Vista started acting up.I took it to Best Buy.They told me I needed a new hard drive.ThatI I would be better off buying a new one.So I went ant found the computer that I thought would best suit my needs,a Acer TC605 on sale for $563.00.Sounded good to me,Until they started nickel and dimming me for every little thing.Charging me a setup fee,transfer fee,and other such nonsense.So I did what was right for me.I left Best Buy to go elsewhere.My wife found Alfa Computer on line on this Yelp site.All reviews were excellent.So I took my computer their.Tan was very knowledgeable and honest.He ran a test on my computer,and found the hard drive as no good as well as there was very little memory on the board as well.With no charge to check it.He recommended I a new or refurbished one.He had refurbished ones that he rebuilt with the best components om the market..I purchased one,a Dell Optiplex 780 with Windows 7 for $350.00.With no transfer charge,as well as a new keyboard,and mouse also.WOW! I needed additional memory for my computer and when I checked yelps in my area Alpha came up with good reviews, which are well deserved. I called them and they were quick to respond with an over the phone estimate that sounded reasonable and they said I could come right in and they would install it while I waited. The parking is easy and the location is right off 95 (128 to us locals) and true to their word they took care of it immediately and I was out the door in a matter of minutes with a bill matching their estimate. I left my laptop at Alfa for them to run some tests to figure out a problem I had. They did not figure out the problem. I got my laptop back and a clip from the Ellen Show on youtube was open on my computer. I hit the back button to see if they watched any other videos as well as looked at my internet history. There were 100 (or more maybe) Youtube videos watched in the time that Alfa had my computer. Now I am left wondering if they even tried to fix the problem or if they just watched the Tonight Show videos the whole time!! read more

These guys are great. I built my first computer and was having some problems booting up. I brought it over and they took the time to test all of the hardware to find that the problem was in the power switch. We also went over the proper way to install the motherboard and surrounding hardware. At the end they charged me nothing! Will definitely be receiving my recommendation. read more

This is a very good company. My son was building a computer by himself and after he put everything together, nothing happened: no video, no keyboard signal, no beep. I helped him but couldn't find the problem. I took the motherboard/CPU/PSU to Alfa, and they immediately saw the problem: the power supply was an old model, which has 20 pins (the newer motherboard requires 24 pins of PSU). I bought a new PSU from them and now it is booting. Though the project is still not finished, it is at least going. read more
