Wicky Chan at Apex computers has been uploading my old family movies from DVD to YouTube and Vimeo. He is careful and does a fantastic job. It is a bit tricky to find the shopping plaza Apex is in because the sign is not so big. The entrance is called Sun Plaza, a driveway up the hill just north of the Costco. My main issue with this place is that I had to bring in my computer twice because the first time the computer worked for about a half an hour before it went right back to having the issue it had before when I brought it in. After the second time I brought in the computer, it worked, thankfully, but the audio has been screwed up ever since. My speakers in the computer do not work, and haven't since bringing it back home. Now my audio jack is completely broken, which definitely could have been something on my part, but the audio itself has been having problems ever since bringing the computer back home. I didn't go back there because I KNEW I would have to pay a large amount for their mess up as this was what happened the second time. Never going back here. read more

So, I was having a problem with my laptop. When I logged on I couldn't get to my home page. I only got a picture that was in my laptop and it was frozen. I did all the usual things, log off, remove the battery, pull the plug then reboot to no avail. Then I googled the problem. It said to hit escape numerous times while the unit powered on and it would give me the option to reset the laptop. I got three options. I chose the one that said "This option will keep all your files, folders, email and personal files. I did it. When it finished I could indeed get to my home page. I opened my email and found it had deleted every single one of my sub folders. I have put every single personal and professional email in these sub folders for the past 20 years. I was devastated. I took it to Showtime Computer in Hudson NH. They absolutely couldn't have cared less. They didn't even want to turn it on and look at it. Didn't even want to try. Then I went to Best Buy Geek Squad where I bought the unit. They tried but couldn't figure it out. Then I googled Computer repair and saw that Apex got good reviews. Well let me tell you I couldn't be happier. Wicky Chan was patient with me, listened to my problem and said he felt he could get my sub folders back. His employee Maurice worked on it. In one day he had all my sub folders back and got me the software I need to back my info up automatically so this never happens to me again. These guys are honest, professional, talented and priced very reasonably. 25 years in the business. I absolutely couldn't be happier with the service I received. Three months ago I brought my 10-year old MacBook Pro in to have battery replaced. Even when fully charged, was having major problems with sluggish/funky performance. Three days later got it back. It's like a new laptop. As good as new. Price was reasonable. read more

You know how it is, BASH!, and your laptop starts having ... attitude, and grows worse by the week. Had it with that, brought it in, they diagnosed the problem and called for authorization to proceed. Part ordered, installed, and all's right in the universe once again. Are they warm and fuzzy and greet you with a hot cocoa? No, stereotypical geek shop. But that's not what I went there for. Was it "cheap"? These guy did a great job helping me when my computer had a leak in the liquid cooling system. I asked that they replace the liquid cooling system with a system fan and not just a cheap one. They ordered a good one and the overall cost for the fix up was very reasonable. After waiting for the part for only two days they proactively emailed me to bring in the machine and within a few hours it was cleaned up and running great. I wondered if they were going to try and keep the parts and sell or reuse them like some other shady vendors might, but no they had a box with all my parts in there ready for me to do something with it. My 18 month old laptop wasn't able to hold a charge. I returned to Best Buy where I purchased it, they wouldn't even test the battery and said they had to send it out which could take up to 3 weeks. I stopped at a computer repair shop and they also said it was the battery but that the chances of repairing/replacing the battery were not good. I called Apex Computer and spoke with the owner. Over the phone, he told me he didn't think it was the battery but more than likely, the charger. Maurice, the technician was willing to troubleshoot the problem and sure enough, it was the charger. Saved myself some big bucks, time and frustration by avoiding the other stores who weren't willing to investigate the problem. I highly recommend Apex! read more

They even had a laptop available for purchase at cheaper than it would cost to repair my current one! Also one of the faster places I've ever been. Not only are they totally knowledgeable but they're also very accommodating to my many unique and cutting-edge technological needs. They have, on many occasions, extended my hardware to beyond their normal life cycles - by updating RAM, and/or SSD, and beyond. They also repair TVs, mobile phones, other gadgets... Absolutely terrible! Went in with what should've been a simple hardware fix with a fully functioning laptop and turned into a laptop which would no longer be returned to me in working condition. Found employees to be quite rude and customer service to be poor at best. Everything that was supposed to be quick and simple took far longer than expected and became a problem. Worst mistake ever was walking into APEX with my computer. Then, on the way out, after being told that my non-functioning laptop could still be worth about $150 and that they would buy it off of me, when my husband called to inquire about it, he was told that we would be given $50 for it and a store credit. Seriously?! I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more
