    Small Poutine
    James Y.

I was in the Longueuil area for work and got recommended to try Alfa from a coworker. Really good poutine with super squeaky curds and a good not-too-salty gravy that all worked well together. The small was a big portion that was more than enough for a single person (almost got the large and definitely would have regretted eating all of that later). The only issue I had really was there weren't enough fries in ratio to gravy/curds which is very minor. The place definitely looks like a landmark and a go-to spot for a lot of people as it was busy even at 3 pm. Definitely a worthwhile visit if you're in the area.

Don't have a good poutine place around home so I came here since I heard it was the place to go for poutine. The small is huge and the cheese curd is plentiful but I found the sauce too salty. I ordered a hotdog too not realizing the size of the poutine. The hotdog was good though the guy threw the relish on it like he had a fight with it and lost.

Everyone, drop whatever you're doing. Drive, bus, bike, walk, run, hop, jump, skip, I don't care, this is THE place to have your standard Quebec quality poutine (and I emphasize STANDARD, as in without all the additional stuff you usually add at La Banquise). I visited here a few days ago after a tip from my friend, who is 99% never wrong when it comes to good food, especially in Montreal. Sure enough, this time was part of the 99%. I ordered a standard small poutine with a drink, and the poutine, despite the small size, is gigantic. I finished maybe about 60-70% of it, and even my friend who has a huge appetite, only barely finished the whole thing. I can't imagine anyone finishing a large unless they're sharing. As for the poutine, it's everything that it should be. LOTS of cheese curds (as in you can't see the fries), gravy that's actually tasty, and fries that are picked perfectly and fried fresh. The best part about all this is that the waiting time for a poutine to finish is only about 2 minutes, yet you can really feel like all the ingredients are fresh. I honestly don't know how they do it. Now, despite all the gloating, you wonder why I didn't give it 5 stars? The pricing mechanism. The poutine is priced fairly at around $6, with hot dogs being a cheap 79 cents, however they earn back your money by inflating the cost of drinks. A can of pop cost $2.19 not including tax, which is more than the $1-1.50 price I'm used to. If anything don't bother purchasing drinks until after you finish your poutine, where there's a McDonald's a stones throw away. With that aside, what are you waiting for? Go! I know I will in my next visit to Montreal!

Large Greek poutine with Michigan hotdog

EPIC lunch!!! I forgot how delicious this place is. We drove from MSH just to get our cravings out of the way. Still as busy as I remember (I used to live in Longueuil). The poutine was LIT! It was loaded with poutine gravy and sooooooo much squik squik cheese. The Michigan hotdog was LIT! Even the steamed 0.99$ hotdog was very good! We had the large smoked meat poutine AKA the Greek poutine, a Michigan hotdog with onions and an all-dressed steamy for about 24,..$. It was huge! I mean, WOW! I will never forget how good this place is. Never again lol. For me, this is the best poutine in Quebec!

Poutines are EXCELLENT however they've reduced the size of the pie plate and increased the price. Geez.

The food is excellent and the prices one of the best of the south river of Montreal, I suggest it to visit this place.

Working in Montreal for a couple of weeks and it's dinnertime. I usually will head into downtown to…read moreget dinner, but I was feeling lazy this evening so I did some Yelp'ing around what was near me. I found Twister Burger which was didn't have a large amount of ratings, but they had a big menu so I chose them! Here's how it went. Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right off a pretty wide street that doesn't seem like a main road is this gem. There's no private parking lot so you'll have to park on the street in the neighborhood, but I didn't have a hard time finding space. Once inside you're transported back to like... the 40s? 50s? Whenever the soda fountain era was with the black/white checkered walls, neon lights and the whole thing. Lol. It was cute. The restaurant is fairly small and that's okay! It makes for a more comfortable and cozy feel. I got my food to go so I didn't have to stay long. Service: The gentlemen behind the counter was very helpful and make sure I got everything that I needed. He also helped me since most of the menus are in French. Food: I started off with their Taco Salad, but as of now I don't see it listed on their menu anymore. Anyway, it's basically their now Southwest Salad which contains mixed greens, corn, red onion, avocado, fried tortillas and shredded cheese, served with chipotle ranch. But instead of being in a bowl, it's in a fluffy, crispy taco shell which was very flavorful and enjoyable. It worked well. The name of the place is called Twisted Burger so I had to try at least one of them. I decided on the Trio Diablo Burger which is 130g beef (1/3 lb), jalapeños, monterrey jack cheese, habanero salsa, grilled onion, chipotle mayonnaise and lettuce, and tomatoes. It kinda slid apart in transport, but I was able to put it back together at my hotel room and it was fine. Nothing super crazy or explosive to report. It was a decent burger and satisfied my cravings for sure. The beer-battered onion rings were okay too. Nothing special and I don't think I was expecting anything out of this world either. Most beer-battered onion rings taste the same, so it's good that it's a familiar flavor to recognize. Value: My taco salad was $14.95CAD, my burger was $10.95CAD and my onion rings were $4.95CAD. This is a GREAT DEAL on the amount of food I had for sure. Looking for a cheap date, something quick, nothing fancy, I dig this place for sure.

For those not in the know or not from Canada, St-Hubert Express is a rotisserie chicken chain that…read moreoperates in Canada and is probably most prevalent in the province of Quebec. Yes, Canada has many casual chains like the U.S. and, if you're a foodie, the full Canadian food experience is not complete without exploring them! With that said, the menu pretty much consist of sandwiches or entrees that include some form of rotisserie chicken, plain or with sauce. Oh, and, of course, they serve a fast food version of poutine. Like I said, OF COURSE. On our first trip to a St-Hubert Express, we ordered some rotisserie chicken to share and had 2 different sides - fries and rice. Interestingly, their chicken entrees come with 2 sandwich buns. Obviously, you can either eat the buns alone or make a makeshift rotisserie chicken sandwich by shredding the chicken off of the bone, but, who has time for that???? Wouldn't one just order the sandwich if they wanted this option? Nevetheless, you have options. As for what does make sense, the chicken comes with a side of gravy and good thing it does. The rotisserie chicken was a bit on the dry side so I dipped it in the gravy every chance I had. It's not the worst rotisserie chicken, but they could do better. The rice was on the hard side, as though it was uncooked. Not sure if it was meant to be like that. The fries weren't bad though and kind of reminded me of McD's. This location is located on a main road, but it does have a large parking lot. Also, it's seems to be located in a large shopping area where there is an A&W, Dollar Tree and multiple supermarkets. It's definitely convenient and many customers go for takeout, but the restaurant does have a decent number of dine-in customers during dinner time.

Bravo à cette équipe toujours souriante et qui s'empresse de nous servir! Endroit prore.read more
