This is the worst spa* (this is not worthy to be called a spa) experience ever. Had the two hour luxurious spa package. Nothing luxurious at all. It was the most uncomfortable massage table and the roughest facial for my face. Came here with a groupon. First they leave you in the room to undress, no robe, no slippers and no instructions. So if you like walking in a strange place with no shoes, this place is for you. And if you like not having a robe... it's uncomfortable. Full body massage was some random spot treatment massage. The massage was 1/3 of the time under the blanket. So weird. They finally used oil but only massaged the back. Wtf? No foot, no front massage. Full body scrub was a back scrub. They don't wipe off the excess scrub. The worst facial ever. It was so rough, for sure causing wrinkles and breaking capillaries. That's not what you want when you get a facial. Steam was on while wiping the face roughly, so no actual steaming happened. They did not remove blackhead or whitehead. They put lotion or whatever else on top of your eyelid so when I opened my eyes, whatever was on my skin went in my eyes. I could not even see after the treatment. My eyes were blurry. I complained. I had to sit in my car, in the cold, waiting for some semblance of continuous non-blurry vision in order to drive. Even while driving, moments of blurriness as I blinked came and went. Do not go here for a spa experience. Go here if you want to have a non relaxing time and have your body maltreated and wanting a real massage and facial. Also, co-workers knocked on the door and they talk to each other during your so called luxury spa treatment. I tipped anyway, but if there was ever a time to leave a paltry tip because you had the most horrible, unsatisfactory, misleading, maltreatment of your body which caused physical harm, this would be it. But, I tipped only for customary purposes and even then, I absolutely regret it because it was horrible here. read more

Although Selena the owner is very nice , I have to say that last time I was there a few weeks ago she was not in and the reception ,a nice Filipino girl was vacuuming the hallway while I was in getting a massage. Another night I went for a massage they did not change the sheets .My Pillow stunk like cigarette smoke so you know that the sheets were not changed before my visit. This placed definitely qualifies for 3C = It is corrupted cheap and crappy! - first thing I noticed when I entered the room the sheet on the message table had holes and stains on them. I asked to change it but they brought another one which was similar to the first one. - the message was crappy and useless that when the session was over I didn't feel any better. - Lastly, it's corrupted because the person that gives you message, you don't know if that person is qualified message therapist, the name that shows on your receipt doesn't mean that's person gave the message! read more

I have been to this spa for a few years now, the owner Selena is really nice. I like a firm, hard massage so I always have to make sure that I request the same masseuse once I had a good experience. There is one lady that gives you a thai massage with the stretching and it's really relaxing and stretches your body out. Worst spa experience! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY Pros -location Cons -everything else The waiting area of the "spa" is less than desirable. Unpleasant smell, spa ambiance non existent. Overall, the receptionist and staff were very disorganized. They called me several times before my appointment to change the appointment time/confirm details and asked me not to book a Groupon and just pay cash (first red flag). A two hour spa package advertised massage, body scrub, facial, head massage. 1. They placed my friend and I together even after requesting that we be separate. 2. The massage therapists spoke to each other in Mandarin the entire time. Which was quite distracting and rude. 3. The massage therapist only massaged the back of my body. I have never ever been to a massage where they didn't turn me over and massage the front of my body. 4. "Body scrub" turned into a back scrub only . 5. I guess they ran out of facial equipment because they shared the steamer and the light between my friend and I! Unbelievable!!!! 6. The massage therapists did not announce what they were doing. They spoke to each other in their language the entire time and frequently came in and out of the room. This was the most unrelaxing spa experience I have ever had. After expressing my disappointment and dissatisfaction with the owner I was told that there wasn't enough time in a two hour session for a full body scrub (even though this is what was advertised) and that I should have told the massage therapist to turn me over! She did not offer anything to ensure that I left happy. Overall poor customer service and nothing that resembles a spa. read more

Therapist are not professional. The room is crowded and very noisy. They didn't close the door when they got in and out at first. And I feel like they are in a rush! I've been using this spa for massage services for the past 2 years. I love this place because when I go here, I dont get the fluff swedish massage that every other massage place does. Here they apply medium to firm pressure (depending on your comfort level) and actually massage out the kinks, bumps and triggers points unlike every other massage place where they just rub you in oil and call it a day. If youre looking for a real massage where you actually feel treated then this is youre go to place. If youre looking for a fluff rub on your back and legs then pick any other spot. read more

I have been coming to Alfa Spa for a few years now, and usually they do a good job. That is, if you get a massage from a "Registered Massage Therapist." Yesterday I had a massage at Alfa. I had called on the phone to book the massage, and specifically asked for a Registered Massage Therapist, as I always have for the passed few years. We never get anyone other than an RMT, because only RMTs at Alfa give good massages. The massage was horrible, to say the least, for the following reasons: 1) The masseuse was burping and blowing her nose throughout the massage (did not wash her hands after blowing her nose... so she would blow her nose, and then continue the massage...) 2) The masseuse did not massage the back and neck areas which I asked (several times) for her to focus on 3) Her massage consisted of an extremely fast motioned, sloppy job (she continuously leaned on me while massaging with her other hand, hit my elbows and feet while walking from one area of the massage table to the other). She was barely trying and couldn't have gotten the massage over with fast enough. After the massage, I found out at the front desk that the masseuse was NOT a registered massage therapist, even though I had asked for one on the phone. The lady at the front desk said that their manager would give me a call that night. No call that night, however they did call back the morning after when I was at work and could not pick up the phone. I called back, they said the manager was not there and that she would be back at 630pm and to call then. I called at 630pm, they then told me to call at 8pm. I called at 8pm, they told me she was still busy with another client. Finally around 830pm she called me back, and explained that the receptionist that I booked the appointment with was new and made the mistake. She then offered one free massage in our next couples massage, but NOT with a registered massage therapist, with a regular masseuse, which we purposely never get there because their massages are absolutely HORRIBLE unless they're with a registered massage therapist. The manager explained to me that they would lose too much money to pay the registered massage therapist if they were to give me a free massage with them to fix their error and their poor service. Now, instead of rectifying their error, Alfa has lost 2 loyal customers who have been going there regularly for years. Big mistake. read more

I wanted to do a spa day with my mom and sister. The last time I booked body blitz spa downtown. It was great as they have a pool, their body scrub was good but the massage was god awful. Total bill before tip 800$. This time I went googling because my mom did not want to drive downtown. I booked it at alfa spa. The price was comparatively super cheap. I was a bit worried it was one of those sketchy run down asian places. But what a freaking surprise. It was fantastic! When we came they gave us water and shoes. Then put us into rooms with a robe. Massage my feet then a wonderful massage. My mom goes to an rmt and she felt this was a better massage. I have been to a lot of rmt and spas and this was one of the better massages. You can tell the lazy spa masseuses who use their forearm and elbows to massage but my massage lady used her palms and fingers throughout. The place had soothing music with decent decor. I liked how she wiped off the oil on my body because I hate the stickiness when I leave but she didnt wipe off the oil on my neck, will have to let her know next time. The front desk person who I assume is the manager was very friendly and the masseuses were as well. They have RMT massages too so I will go for that next time. Just too bad their foot reflexology are all in private rooms. I would have preferred it to be like a pedicure place so I can chat with my mom and sister. Yes I realize how silly a comment that is. Forget high priced body blitz, I am sold! Coming back here with my mom and sister next time. Awesome spa! Clean, great massages. Did not guess that it would be from the price though. read more

My daughter and I were there today for a mother daughter spa day and it was wonderful. The massages were perfect and we got to have them side by side which was nice. Had a facial and manicure/pedicure as well which were ok. Overall the prices were reasonable and great service. read more

I would not recommend this place. I went there for a "relaxation" massage and was very disappointed. I wanted registered, and the person they called in to do the massage was late so I was left sitting and waiting. They told me that someone else would be doing it so I agreed and got ready in the room. The woman who gave me a massage left the room THREE times!! It was unbeleivable! It was not relaxing at all, I felt uncomfortable each time she opened the door. She later explained to me that it was the receptionists first day! And to top it off the worst part about it was it wasn't even a full hour!!! I looked at the clock and was floored! I would never go back to this place and wouldn't recommend it to others! read more

very nice and friendly people. The place is very clean and neat. They do very good relaxation massage, but I would like some treatment on my right shoulder. They said they would recommended some other therapist for treatment next time. The price is reasonable here. Usually I paid $85+tax for an hour RMT massage, but they charged me only $75+tax for my 1st visit. read more
