I don't want to directly name my hygienist, since I don't know if she wants her name on here, but she knows who she is and I really have to give her credit for doing such a great job cleaning my teeth each time-- I certainly haven't changed my habits to make such a big difference! And just think, a good hygienist wouldn't want to work for a bad or unpleasant dentist. My time with Dr. Schwartz is short in comparison to the hygenist, but he's incredibly nice and I've had no complaints over any of the work that he has done. He pulled two teeth out as part of my invisalign treatment plan to make room for straight teeth along with two or maybe three fillings over the years-- all went very well and my smile and bite is better than ever. I've moved 7 times since 2006 and after one of the moves to the Baltimore area I was immediately looking into invisalign and the highly rated orthodontist that I found didn't do general dentistry but he recommended Dr. Schwartz so that is where I went. When I moved from Baltimore to Chicago for 3 years, and then from Chicago to New Orleans for another two years, I still flew back to baltimore for my dental appointments with Dr. Schwartz. I'm back in the area now and still seeing Dr. Schwartz with a mere 30-45 minute drive. If you live in Chicago, I'd still recommend Dr. Schwartz-- the flights between MDW and BWI are really plentiful and you can fly in for the day for an appointment. It's a bit harder from New Orleans, but still doable.

Not only did they do the tongue check for oral cancer but they also have this other tool that shines some sort of purple light in your mouth and if there's any lesions or signs of oral cancer, it makes it shine green. She not only checked inside my mouth but felt around my neck and jawline as well for lymph nodes, muscles, and bones. They performed my cleaning and did a routine X-ray. The doctor is very thorough. I've been wanting to get braces again to fix my underbite and I had also seen that they have services for TMJ pain, which I was told I had, so I brought that up during my visit. The doctor checked my mouth, and for the first time ever, said that I don't have TMJ, but that my bottom jaw just didn't grow when it was supposed to leaving me with both an underbite and jaw pain and popping that isn't from TMJ, but from a lower jaw that is just too small. She referred me to an oral surgeon and said that my teeth are actually pretty straight so braces wouldn't be a good option for me, but I would have to have an oral surgery done to fix the lower jaw if I wanted to fix the underbite. The office is brand new, very clean and up to date. They offered accommodations before my appointment like earplugs, dark sunglasses for the bright light, and something else that I can't remember. I really appreciate this and went with the dark sunglasses. They have two TVs for you to watch something while you're getting your teeth cleaned, one on the wall and one on the ceiling. I watched Brooklyn 99 during my cleaning. They also have a seating area and mini fridge stocked with drinks. I took home a seltzer. I love that my new dentist is literally on my street. It felt very European to walk out my front door and across the street to my dentist appointment. They accept insurance and I already booked my next appointment and referred two more people to their practice.

I would Not recommend this office at All…read more The original dentist was good, only seen the new dentist once as the original dentist retired. The reschedule/cancelation practices/policy of this office is horrible ! (and they do not give you a print out of that policy) Don't ever have to cancel your apts at this office. NOT days or weeks prior to your actual apt date and time for any reason, they will scold you and read you the riot act and basically threaten to kick you out of the practice and not schedule the entire family at all !!!! As a family of 5, I had to cancel and reschedule a few apts due to unforeseen circumstances that had happen in our family, April the front desk lady went off on the phone saying and complaining of all the missed/canceled and rescheduled apt she had to do, which was false! however, scheduling apts is part of a front desk job. April Stated that I was wasting other patients time, when the few apts that was canceled and rescheduled were done days and up to a week prior to the apt., usually dentist and doctors offices have a policy for cancelations 24/48 hours prior to appointment. Never have we ever not shown for an apt! I'm certain they would not want anyone there who is sick. April has called to cancel and reschedule our apts for their own office issues, and that was ok . The office doesn't make it easy, patient friendly or convenient to make apts, sense the office seems to be closed more then its opened. I know there are lots of patients who get very nervous when going to the dentist, they have a real fear of having dental work done, well this doesn't make the experience any easier or pleasant. The first and the last impression left at any office experience is the person that sits at the front desk of any office, and this one is NOT GOOD ! Front desk staff has NO compassion! The Staff was so professional and welcoming. The check in was fast and efficient. I didn't have to wait long in the waiting room before I was called to be seen. The waiting area and dental rooms was very nice and inviting. Overall I am very pleased with my choice and I highly recommend if you are looking for a Dentist.

The swelling returned, then went away, then returned, then went away, and so on. At that point I suspected I was allergic to something I was eating, so I limited my diet to things I knew I wasn't allergic to, then added things back one at a time. When I started eating ketchup again, the swelling returned. It turns out I am allergic to tomatoes, which, according to Doctor Google, may cause blistering in the mouth. When a search engine gives you better information than a professional, one has to wonder what exactly these folks learn in dental school. Bottom line: never trust a dentist to solve a medical problem. They just don't have the knowledge.

Unless I can't breathe, I would rather suffer alone at home. I've been to Dr's offices where you spend twice as much time waiting than receiving care. I have known Dr Garbis for a very long time since our kids grew up playing football together. But I only started going to him maybe 3 years ago along with my son. Let me tell you, what a world of difference. No longer are there any reluctance. The staff is professional, courteous, friendly and actually pretty fun to be around from start to finish. And they are really efficient. Hardly any waiting at any of the times I've been there. I even had to change schedule but none was available for the time that I needed for months. So I requested they put me on a wait list for that time if it showed up. Sure enough, they contacted me within a month because someone cancelled. Again, in and out like clockwork. There is absolutely nothing more I can expect from a healthcare provider. Thank you Dr Garbis and the entire staff.
