She pulled out a molar and sent me to an implant practice without discussing other possible or cheaper options. Made me feel awkward. Oh well. So it is no secret that im not the biggest fan of the dentist something about them just brings Little Shop of Horrors thoughts to my mind.. My nerves get so bad I even go to the point of seeking out a dentist that specializes with children so that i know they will use "child gloves" with me. Well Dr. Goitom makes sure her office is the complete opposite of LSOH! I went it with a slight issue and Helen, the hygienist, was great at keeping me calm and explaining everything as went through. Dr. Goitom made sure I felt no pain throughout the process and felt completely comfortable with everything. I am honestly looking forward to going back to them which NEVER happens with me. The office decor is really cute, high tech and they have inspirational quotes in each room which are nice to read while trying to keep yourself busy. I have nothing but the highest reviews for D. Goitum. They are no longer taking my insurance so I have found another provider. This review is for the front office which failed 100% of the time to send invoices they said they would send after my making payment and also my asking for xrays to send to my new dentist. I have had to call several times because they never responded to my emails to have the invoices and xrays sent. Miserable experience. This extra effort delayed my claims to get reimbursed requiring me to follow up several times for every invoice. read more

I LOVE the location, ease of making an appointment, cleanliness and flow of her office, the staff (particularly the receptionist at the front desk, Ashley and Heather), and of course Dr. G! They called me a few days later to see if I wanted to come in a week earlier and I said yes. That right there is awesome because I never get calls from my doctor/dentist to see if I would like another day. This may be the friendliest office I have ever been in! Went into today for a routine appointment (for cleaning), and it was a less than stellar experience. The dental hygienist was thorough, which is fine. However, upon the conclusion of the cleaning she asked about my brushing and flossing habits. I told her I brush and floss everyday and she stated "from what I see, it doesn't appear you brush daily". I told her that I did, but not twice a day. She then stated when the doctor came in the same comment. I told her that brush and floss everyday and to stop saying that, because it is insulting to me I also stated this in front of the doctor. She also showed me a video on how to floss. She was overall condescending and her bed side manner less a lot to be desired. If I go back in 6 months and she's there I will leave. The absolute best dental team around! Dr. Goitom and her staff cannot be beat. I have been a patient for a while and they are always on time. I have never waited more than 5 minutes after arriving for an appointment. Typical wait time is closer to 1-2 minutes, tops. The staff is very professional, yet warm and friendly. Communication is stellar and scheduling is a breeze. The hygienists are efficient, polite, and thorough. They provide tips without a lecture. Honored to be the first to review. Where do I begin? First, let me say that I am not the type that is afraid of dental procedures, nor am I sensitive to pain. With that being said, I had a absolutely terrible experience with a dentist. The procedure was extremely uncomfortable, the Dentist had no patience with me nor was empathetic toward my pain. She was overall angry, verbally and physically aggressive and didn't inform me of anything she was doing as she was treating me. A warning that "this may hurt a bit" would have been nice". That's when I decided to immediately find another Dentist. This is where Dr. G comes in.... Dr. Liya Goitom treated me for 3 root canals and 4 cavities (Yikes right?, and I was only 25 at the time). After examining me, she let me know what I needed done and gave me treatment options. During the procedure she walked me through each step and let me know what "feeling or sound" to expect. My teeth were in poor condition so I was trying to be strong through the little bit of pain but she was very attentive to my reaction and when she noticed I was feeling uncomfortable she stopped and told me "you don't have to tolerate any pain" and injected me with more anesthesia. The extra anesthesia made the rest a breeze!! My graduation was approaching and I was leaving the country immediately afterwards; Dr. G tried her best and was able to make me as good as new within 2 weeks!!! She literally went out of her way to make sure I received my treatments before I left. Thanks to her I don't have a half cracked tooth in my graduation pictures!!! :-) :-) She is gentle, knowledgeable, sweet, and just a pleasure to be around. I absolutely recommend her. I have gone to several dentists asking them if closing the space between my front teeth was possible and to my surprise I was told "no" because the end result would look very big and bulky and that I would not be satisfied. Dr. Goitom was a wonderful dentist! She was very professional and took her time to explain my dental issues along with a comprehensive treatment plan. The office was clean and utilized state of the art dental equipment. The receptionist, who I think was named Murrah (sorry if I screwed up the name :) and the hygienist named Helen were very personable and professional, putting my anxiety at ease. TV monitors were in every treatment room, which were used to display x-rays and pen camera images of dental issues that Dr. Goitom thoroughly explained to me. During my tooth examination and subsequent cleaning, which she did, not a dental hygienist, Dr. Goitom was gentle and asked me a few times if everything was okay. She even flossed my teeth, which was the first time that was ever done for me during a cleaning, let alone by a dentist! I have more dental work to be completed and feel so comfortable and assured that Dr. Goitom and her team are the ones to complete these dental issues for me. I REALLY LOVED MY EXPERIENCE HERE! I felt comfortable from the minute I walked in. The woman at the front desk is very friendly. I was seen almost immediately. It wasn't very busy when I went in (I went on a Thursday in the early afternoon). I initially came here for a second dentists opinion. The first dentist I went to at a different office seemed confused as to if I needed a root canal. I had no cavity or trauma done to the tooth and there was no sign of inflammation shown on the x-ray. I am a bit of a hypochondriac and hyper-aware of what happens with my body so I wanted to be absolutely sure of what needed to be done. It turned out I actually did need a root canal on my top canine tooth! I was assuming I'd just do the consultation like many dental offices do then do the procedure another day. Thankfully I was able to get it done within the same day! I think this has to do with the fact it wasn't very busy. My dentist was Dr. Alice Oh, she was amazing! She was funny and I loved how she was very thorough in her explanation and she seemed like she knew what she was talking about. I was happy to be in her chair. She took her time and made sure she did everything neatly and cleanly. She explained at the end of the procedure I may need to take ibuprofen for pain I may feel the next day but the day following the procedure I had no pain at all!!! I still have cavities to get filled :( but the good news is that I will be able to come back to this dentist and get it done :) read more

Everyone from the receptionist, the hygienist to the Doctor was great! They were very professional and courteous. I went in for a cleaning, so this was my first visit since leaving my former dentist last fall. The Hygienist was very gentle. The office was clean and high tech. Dr. Goitom took her time doing an exam and going over my x-rays that were on the TV monitors that they have in the rooms, showed me actual photos of my mouth and some of the concerns that she had, I felt very comfortable and at ease with Dr. Goitom. I was pleasantly surprise by how friendly and thorough Dr. Goitom was. The assistant and the front desk staff were all very pleasant and helpful as well. Once all the exams were completed, they gave me an estimate for the treatments I needed and reiterated that they would run it thorough my insurance prior to providing a final bill. I will NOT return to Pearls Smiles. I had a tooth extraction last week and I was in extreme pain and they did not prescribe me a pain medicine even though I requested one. They told me to just take over-the-counter Motrin. Well I did it for 3 days and it did not work. I got worse and I ended up a dry socket. could not sleep and I was crying hysterically nonstop from the pain. I went back to the office 3 days later and they still refused to give me medication for pain they instead told me to go see an oral surgeon. That is totally unacceptable. I couldn't believe what they were doing to me so I immediately went to another dentist that same day I had returned after those 3 days and was evaluated with x-rays and they could see that I was in excruciating pain so they prescribed me pain medicine. the pain went away and I have not had any since I started taking the medication and I'm back to normal. I DO NOT recommend this dental office. I'm spreading the word to everyone what happened to me as truthful as it happened read more

I was looking for a new dentist and decided to follow the reviews I found online. When I went to the office, I had to wait for the receptionist to check me in. She was quite polite and I was sent back to get x-rays. The hygienist was very nice and thorough and I knew her from a previous office that I used to go to (insurance change caused me to leave). When the dentist came in, I can't even remember her name now that's how short of time she spent in there, she immediately said I needed a root canal. I was a bit alarmed by the diagnosis and that I was told I would need so many fillings. When I got the estimate with my insurance, I was quoted nearly $2300. I was very much alarmed then and told I needed to put a down payment--which makes sense since it was a costly procedure. I went for a second opinion elsewhere and was told that there was no need for the root canal nor the amount of work this office was quoted. I was very surprised this was the result of my visit after reading the reviews--I very much felt they were trying to make money rather than performing services that are truly necessary. Hopefully this is not the case for everyone, but I will not return nor would I suggest them to anyone. Office staff was polite and very helpful when refunding me my down payment, dentist was barely memorable. read more

My husband and I, as well as my friend, all went here looking for a new dental practice. Right off the bat, we were given xrays, and before the dentist even looked in our mouths, gave us the diagnosises of many, many cavities, as well as several root canals. My husband skeptically asked the dentist to show him on HIS xray what were cavities vs. fillings and the dentist couldn't so she pulled up another patients file and displayed their xrays!!! As we left, we were given almost $2,000 estimates each between my husband and I, and my friend was quoted even more. She has already gone for a second opinion and was told that there is absolutely no evidence that she needs root canals done, that she had less cavities than diagnosed at Pearl Smiles, and her total bill was $54. Yes, you read that correctly, fifty four dollars instead of the thousands quoted before. The office looks nice and the hygenist was polite, but there is absolutely no way I'd recommend this practice unless you enjoy the drill and have money to waste. read more
