This is my second review for Alibaba Curry and Pizza. The first review was for the pizza; which was great. This second review is for the curry and the naan. I ordered the Tikka Masala and the MalAi Kofta, both spicy. I had never experienced MalAi Kofta before...oh my gosh, this is so good. I will be on the lookout for this dish going forward. I walked in to order a pizza. The service was not great. The food was even worse. They need to stick to curry and not pizza. I ate 2 pieces because I was hungry and threw the rest away, The ambiance was horrible as they typically do takeout. I will never go there again nor will I recommend. Go somewhere else!!! read more

I recently visited Alibaba Curry and Pizza, and unfortunately, my experience did not match its current 4.2-star rating--which, in my opinion, is very generous. I was excited to find a place offering Indian food, but the environment quickly changed that excitement. The atmosphere felt more like a doctor's office than a restaurant, so I decided not to dine in. I ordered a slice of pizza, garlic naan, and a mango icy. The pizza was just okay--nothing special--and it seemed like it had been sitting out for quite some time. One of the slices even looked unappetizing, with pepperoni that didn't appear fresh. The garlic powder available was very low quality, more like a light dusting than actual seasoning. The biggest disappointment was the "garlic naan," which was not naan at all--it was essentially pita bread with some oil and garlic added. As someone who loves naan, this was very misleading. The mango icy was also concerning. When I opened it, it was covered in ice crystals and slightly discolored. The employee mentioned it was about a month old, but based on the condition, it seemed like it had been sitting much longer. On a positive note, the kitchen did appear clean, which I appreciate. However, the overall atmosphere is not inviting, and I wouldn't recommend eating there. It also didn't seem like a busy place, which may reflect the overall experience. Small businesses have great potential, but they need care, quality, and attention to detail. Unfortunately, this visit felt like a waste of money, and I would not return. At first I thought it was a joke, but then I realized it was really on their menu, so we decided to actually try it, and who could have guessed that butter chicken pizza became our favorite pizza. We now get it anytime we have any sort of party or celebration. We have never had any issues with service other than doordash being light in getting the order to them, resulting in slightly longer weight when picking up. Any of the food that we've gotten from there has been top-notch and the wide selection on the menu always helps with a large group. read more

Sometimes the food tells the story - not the ambiance. I love this place but it has two faces. Face One This place is my new favorite Indian restaurant in the capital district. The food is amazing. Tops to the chicken tikka, tikka masala, samosa, aloo gobe, and butter chicken. I want to try more vegetarian dishes and I'm sure they will be just as good. Yes, the fresh naan is delicious too. Face Two Pizza. Who does that? Indian and pizza? Well, pizza lovers run here and get either the butter chicken pizza or a chicken tikka masala pizza. Yes, basic cheese is available here... and everywhere .... The two I named are amazing!! No kidding amazing. Run!!! They have three or four tables inside. This place is set for takeout predominantly but you can sit. If you're like me ... pizza is so much better fresh.... Naan too but you can sit. I was intrigued by a place that fuses Indian food and pizza. I've given the place a couple tries now. The first time I went for Indian. Their vegetarian curry menu is good. Most of the usual suspects. A stand out dish was their MALAI KOFTA, which their menu describes as, "Crispy paneer dumplings known as Kofta, served with creamy, luxurious & super delicious gravy". Oh my... this was a cozy, luxe experience for my tastebuds. The second time I tried to order pizza delivery. It didn't go well. The person answering the phone was simply unable to take my order. I waited while they went to get something after I explained I wanted to pay with a credit card for a long time and finally gave up. Anyway, I decided to try pickup instead. The pizza was fresh out of the oven, the cheese was rich and tasty, the dough not to thick or thin. I liked it a lot. Better than other places down the street. If you're looking for a good takeout place but cannot decide whether you want Indian or pizza, look no further than Alibaba Pizza and Curry. I recommend either ordering online for delivery or take out because a phone call is not always a great option. This is the reason they get 3 instead of 4 stars. May go back up though because I just noticed they have a"butter chicken pizza" and the only thing that would sound better is a chicken tikka pizza! read more

Variety of different foods, both Indian and pizzas, were very tasty! The only two things I would comment on that weren't great were that the spice level that I could choose (like that idea alot!) was not consistent from one dish to another and the one time we ordered, it took twice as long to pick up. I didn't mind waiting but I would rather have waited the extra half hr at home. They told me 20 minutes for pickup. Still, I will definitely be ordering from Alibaba again. This place was really good! I'm happy to have a place in Delmar that has such great Indian food and can't wait to try more. We got pizza for the kids and they liked it. thank God I only spent 27.00 bucks because the chicken wrap and samosa chat was inedible, my wife wanted to bring the crap back but I decided to dump it in trash can where it tasted like it came from, this place was good when first opened but obviously has gone down hill. the meat in the wrap was unrecognizable and 80% lettuce filled it with a tiny piece of tomato and green pepper, the samosa chat was from frozen and tasteless, my is good Indian cook we only went there because she worked late and were hungry but this ruined our appetite. read more

Have you ever had people in your family craving Indian and Italian food at the same time leading you to propose a chicken tikka masala pizza? Me neither. When I first heard Alibaba offered such a thing, I thought it had to have been created by either a madman or a genius. Genius it is. The food at Alibaba is incredible. The butter chicken pizza is both a novelty and a delicacy. When they handed me my medium pie, I was shocked by the weight--it is a lot of food for the price, and it was spectacular. The naans we had were also outstanding. This place is a lifesaver since Taj has been slacking recently. I could not hold Alibaba in higher esteem. Give them a try! read more

This restaurant is fairly new to area and there are definitely some things great and not great about the food. For my first time coming here I ordered the Tikka Masala. They flavor this dish is really really good. There is not really much you could complain about that. The chicken is so incredibly tender that it almost melts in your mouth when you bite into it. Very impressive. That being said, I am not exaggerating when I say this, but this was one of the most salty thing I have ever ordered from a restaurant in my life. To the point where I had to take a break eating and let some water clear everything out and relax for a few minutes before going back into it. Also with this dish, I got very little chicken for the amount of sauce that I got with the dish. Even mixed in with a good amount of rice it was almost as if I was eating a soup. Again, they are new and probably getting into the groove of things. I will definitely give them some more time and I will be back to try something new pretty soon. read more

My family has ordered several dishes from Ali Baba about 1-2 times a month for the last year. Always fresh, delicious and very flavorful. They also have different spice level options when you order on the website, so you can actually get "Indian spicy" food, not American level spicy. Some places around here have slowly become milder over time, but I was pleased to find the curry dishes that are supposed to be spicy actually were. The first time we ordered, we called to inquire about certain dishes to avoid dairy, and they were very helpful. The menu is big and has 3 different cuisines on it, which can sometimes be a red flag, but it's all been good in my experience. There are all the typical Indian dishes: aloo gobi, biryanis, lamb, chicken, dal etc, as well as some middle eastern options like falafel, halal cart style chicken & rice, and American appetizers and pizza. We have had several curries from the veg and non-veg sections. Samosas are huge, lots of varieties of naan and a dairy free roti for me. My kids like the butter chicken pizza. I tried the veggie pizza without cheese and it was decent. They also have more classic Italian pizza toppings, which were also well received by my kids. Good for nights when the adults want a curry, and the kids want pizza. read more

Tried Alibaba for the first time tonight. Ordered online and specified a pick-up time. Food was ready right on time when I got there. Ordered a Large Pizza with pepperoni, onions, and black olives. The pizza was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and the toppings were nice and evenly spread out. While pizza might not be their "specialty", I was very impressed. Way better than some other local spots I have gotten pizza from recently. Also ordered Butter Chicken, Chicken Korma, Garlic & Cheese Naan, and the Chicken Pakora. Everything listed above was spectacular, but what really stood out was the Korma & the Garlic & Cheese Naan bread. The green sauce that came with the Chicken Pakora was also really unique yet delicious. Almost like a very light tasting hot-sauce. Overall, took a shot trying this place for the first time for take-out for my wife and I. We were both so amazed at how good everything was. The best part, after us eating all of this food, neither of us feel like crap. You can tell Alibaba is using fresh ingredients in all of their dishes. Pizza is good. Service was lackluster. I placed an online order at 5:40 for a 6:30 pickup. Got there to pickup and they said 10 minutes. I waited 20 minutes and then they said 5 minutes and were just making the pizza then. I don't appreciate being lied to for the timing, be truthful and I wouldn't be leaving this review. Finally got my food at 1.5 hours after placing the order. I asked for an explanation and they say online should be at least a day or two in advance (not stated on website). read more
