I should have posted this review the day after my gel mani (individual pictures are from the day off) but I didn't want to post a negative review for a business. However, it's now 5 days later and I need a new gel manicure because my nails are horrendous. I'm not sure if the gel line they use is bad or ... I've been getting my nails done for the past 15 years and never have I had this happen. sometime shapes are off or there's a chip but 3 chips, 3 air bubbles, 2 badly shaped nails and 10 awful looking fingers later I'm sad that I spent the money and 20% tip on this. I made them sterilize the instruments. When I showed up, they took tools from a glass with blue water, not from an individual package from a sterilizing machine. I asked them to out it to sterilize. The girl who did my manicure and pedicure was nice, but she has no clue how to do nails cover. Gel polis is all over my skin and it looks like a kid did my polish just for fun. Same with my pedicure. I love this place! Jasmine did my dip nails and pedicure and it came out amazing! I love the way she was very meticulous about my nails and detailed with every step of the way. The salon is clean, the bathroom is great for a selfie (they have cute decor in there lol), and they attend you on time. Make sure to make an appointment before coming because it's always booked! I love everything about Alibi. I used to drive 40 min mutes to drive to a different nail salon until I found this place. It's still a bit of a drive but so worth it! Mireya, the manager, is so nice and sweet all the time, she's always making sure that everything is spotless and that you have a drink. It really does make a difference when someone welcomes you like you're family and remembers your name. Xiomara is exceptional! I had an OK experience here. The place was BEAUTIFULLY designed, exceptionally clean, and rigid about their COVID-19 precautions which I appreciated. Everyone was very nice, but you definitely need to be able to speak/understand Spanish to feel comfortable. That wasn't an issue for me as Spanish speaker, but I assume it would be for someone who does not speak the language. It is also VERY expensive, so keep that in mind when booking. Unfortunately, my nail tech (Jorge, I believe) was extremely inexperienced in sculpting acrylics so my nails came out chunky and poorly shaped. I sucked it up for a few days before my OCD got to me and I had to soak them off. All in all, I wouldn't suggest this place for someone who is experienced in getting acrylics. Self parking might be a bit of a challenge but there is valet parking available for $12.00. My appointment was at 2:30pm, got there at 2:25pm, and on the dot, I was seated at 2:30pm. Of course the normal, check which color you like and else. My manicurist, a brazilian, was very patient and very meticulous - Laida her name I think. The place looks hip, with that big colored bottle display in the back, it feels like you are in an artsy place. But nevertheless, this place men and women go, mostly women. What impressed me was the time they keep to their appointments. The rest of the places I have gone to, it's like oh... I'm behind so you will have to wait, and there is only one manicurist. I got in at 2:25pm and left 50 minutes later. I would totally recommend this place if: - you like your appointments on time (don't have to wait) - you like people that do their job well done - and no chit chatting bla bla bla bla - you have plans for the rest of the day It's definitely a keeper, too bad they are so far!! DO NOT COME HERE. I have a skin condition that doesn't allow me to wash hands without soap. I used the hand sanitizer provider inside the salon. Was told I need to wash hands without lotion, because it's a government order. So I was refused service due to my skin condition. It's not a government order. There's not even a mask mandate in Florida, nonetheless an order to wash hands immediately after using their own hand sanitizer. There's 5 other places within a 1 minute walk. So I rebooked for Saturday and the receptionist promised that ingrid would fix everything and they would take $20 off for the gel polish so I decided to get a fill in and get my nails blinged out ...... child boo this lady started cutting my cuticles with out my permission I told her to do a regular full in because I didn't need the white powder but she insisted Kept cutting my cuticles until I was bleeding and she had to use nail glue to stop the bleeding on my thumbs (ugggggghhhhh) my cuticles we're hurting for days afterwards. She filed my nails down saying she was going to even them out and my nails are still uneven and now I have horrible looking cuticles Then this lady had the nerve to charge me$1 dollar per stone and she didn't even use the same kind of stones Gave me an old school pineapple design Lol All together I should have paid nothing for her making me bleed but she charged me $60 for uneven ruined cuticles with an old school design So I paid you guys $80 to walk around with flea market nails ! read more

Everytime I have come here, and tho it has been a while since my last date here with my BFF for our girl time, I have loved it. I adore the little pods/eggs that you climb into with your bubbly and maybe even score a tablet to surf on in your little egg while your tootsies are being tended. My mani and pedi was with Nidia and she was very professional and did a great job getting those side nail hangers out without pain. She actually switched my color for me which I am grateful for! I made an appointment over a week ago and received four confirmations this week, two calls, one text, one email, all of which I reconfirmed, only to walk into the salon (early) to find that all the manicurists were busy and there was absolutely nothing they could do. I was completely disrespected by the person at the front desk who I think may be the manager. Myself and my partner came in to get mani pedi's when we were met by locked doors, when the woman came to the door she opened and started saying I was late then asked if I had an appointment. I said yes, and she said your late for you appointment then called me Olivia. I told her my appointment was at 1, she started arguing with me saying I was late because it was 2pm (it's literally 1:21 as I type this). I am insisting that it's at 1 then she says, it's 2pm and your number is 910... and I say that's not me, to which she replied your appointment is on Tuesday. At this point I am livid but trying to stay calm and move forward because I know she is wrong. She then ask the nails techs the time and they replied 1pm, she then said her computer says 2 "sorry"... then til me to sanitize my hands (not a problem) and as I am putting my purse and water bottle and phone down she tells "I understand if you don't want to say." Went to Alibi for a powder dip. They only offer 5-10 colors of powder and recommended they paint the color on top or I pay more for gel. I decided to use regular polish because if I wanted gel, I would've just gotten gel. It took them an hour to get the old dip off and they charged me an extra $15 for the removal and did not advise me it would cost more. Then she only put 2 layers of powder dip on and painted with regular nail polish telling me it would "probably" last longer than just a regular manicure. Well they were wrong. It's been 2 days and the polish is already chipping off. I should've stuck to my gut and left the place and not allowed them to do my nails. What a waste of money. They clearly know nothing about powder dip. Do not go here if you are looking for powder dip. read more

I had an appointment with one person she just automatically assume she could put me with a random nail tech, which is not right. Ignoring me multiple time when I asked her to come over. I had a pedi/meni combo. The only thing that was good about it was the champagne, otherwise, it wasn't good at all. I am writing this review as I get my services done here at the Midtown NailBar :). How, you ask? On the iPad they lent me while I got my pedicure! How cool and different is that?! My manicure gets only 3 stars because I am a nail nazi, and extremely picky about getting all the nooks and corners perfectly, so I'm pretty sure I annoyed her, but she was a good sport. Then came the pedicure. The spa chair has an adaptor and speakers to put my iPhone and listen to music on. This was a nice touch. Then I was offered champagne, and the tech even helped me order some lunch delivery. Oh yea! And the pedicure was well done too! ;) I'm usually not a fan of coming to these expensive places because they take forever (took 2 hrs) and they aren't as efficient as my personal nail lady is, but I would definitely come back here because it was a new and different experience, and the customer service was excellent. This is my local mani/pedi spot. I was initially turned off by bad reviews. Took the plunge though with some gel extensions and could not be happier with the service and quality. I've now gotten three mani pedis there with gel extensions. I highly recommend Nancy. I have found my favorite nail technician! She is fast and confident and should be because she perfectly shapes my nails. Even with extensions - they look natural. She asks for feedback and is approachable and knows her products and outputs. Awesome job! Downsides - the pedicure pods are wildly uncomfortable whether the massage features are on or off. And I wish they would consistently offer the bubbly. I feel weird asking and everyone around me always has some and I've never been offered. :/ I know. Nail Bar is amazing. First of all, I love that they are open on Sundays, because most nail salons don't. Every time I go there I feel so fabulous, the decor is so modern and beautiful. I always get my mani-pedi with Ella, she is great, best manicurist I've ever had in my life. Another thing I love about NailBar is that when I get my nails done there the nail color lasts up to three weeks, when usually my manicure is ruin after the first week when going to other places. They offer tea, juice or champagne to drink and also they have IPads available while getting pamper. This new swanky place in Midtown is cool and very high-tech, everyone gets an iPad to peruse, and you sit in a pod chair which allows you to listen to your own tunes. I liked the vibe and the array of non-toxic colors to choose from. The pedicure itself was spot-on. My only suggestion to NailBar is that they work on time. I had put 2 hours worth of change in the meter and my mani/pedi went for almost 3 hours, which is ridiculous to me. I understand that you want to get the job done right, but it took way too long in my opinion... for that and the steep $55 charge they get 3 stars. This one-time affair was a good experience. I live next door to this place so there is nothing I would want more than to have a great salon so close to go to religiously every 2 weeks. I have tried Nail Bar in the past and the experiences were horrible because the nail technicians there had no idea what they were doing. One refused to cut my cuticle, another did whatever she wanted and barely filed my nails. But alas, I had an event last night and a gala tonight and no time so I tried it once more. HORRIBLE! I felt like I was in a hidden camera show. The lady who did my nails was very sweet but she simply should NOT be giving manicures. The worst manicure of my life!!!!!! The paint was stuck to my cuticles at the top and all around the sides. It looked like a 6 yr old did it!!!!!!!! She would paint the whole finger in short strokes over and over again so the texture was horrible and then tried to clean around the nail with HER nail.... I had to go home and take it off because it was embarrassing!!!!! I asked her to please use the brush to clean the area around the nail and the cuticle after she painted but she refused. She said it was MY cuticle that was the problem.... Ummmm isnt your job to cut it and make sure it looks good???? When it was finally over, I asked the receptionist what she thought... I know she was probably horrified but said it was a great color! LOL I told her how horrified I was and that they should have people who are professionals working there and she got very defensive and said that that was their best nail technician and the one who brought the most money.... I cannot believe that. But either way.... I was charged for the $40 manicure, no idea why and she said if I wanted to come in Saturday they could redo it. It was offered like she was doing me a favor, why would I want to go back and go through that again?!?!? Especially if the lady who messed up my nails is the 'best' one they have??!!? Anyway, very sad all around that after years they decide to ignore the reviews and reputation they have for having horrible nail technicians. My friends and I would go because of the location but I would rather have my niece do my nails than anyone who works here. No wonder they are always empty!!!! In Miami when you need a mani/ pedi on a Sunday you are s.o.l.; unless you discover NailBar in Midtown. They are open on Sundays and have available appointments with experienced nail technicians. The place is modern, clean, and tastefully decorated. Flor did a beautiful job on my nails. I also liked the disposable liners for the pedicure basins (much more sanitary). Why 4 stars instead of 5? They could use a better selection of Essie colors. Also the prices are slightly outrageous. I wanted a shellac mani. But when the average rate is $25 and they charge $40 I had to downgrade my selection to regular manicure. Still, I'll be back for more mani/pedis. read more

The place is clean as can be... my nail tech was Zoe... there was a slight language barrier but she was super cute and friendly and precise! In all honesty the most precise person I have had other than Remaku which no one beats her...but Zoe was right up there with her... she did a through job and my nails looked good! The pedicure was just as nice.. they use the plastic liners like everyone said which was a huge bonus! She took her time and my toes looked lovely.. nail bar is well known for their nail art... actually supposedly one of the best... but not all the techs do nail art.. Zoe does not.. so what they had was while she did my pedi another friendly woman who I am sorry I did not get her name came in and added my squiggly lines... when she was done I was very happy... I had the magnum mani'pedi which was 55 dollars and definitely was over an hour... the nail art was an extra 5 dollars, but it can go up higher fyi if you do more detailed art... Went to this place as it was listed as one of the best in Miami on two websites. Greatly disappointed. Payed 60$ for the acrylic tips plus 12$ for gel polish. The woman who I was seated with to do my nails seemed new. She had a hard time checking me In so that hinted to me that she was new but I could be wrong. She was very sweet and I had great conversation with her. However it seemed she had a very hard time glueing the tips on as her false nails kept getting in the way. She would glue the tips on and they would stick to her finger. Finally when she got them glued on while she was filing them down two of them broke off. I've been getting tips done for a while now and get the same kind pretty much every time. She used way to much of the stuff they mixed the chemical With the powder to make the gel( don't know what that's called) They came out way to thick. Then on top of it the gel Dried bumpy.
