I wanted to try out gel nails and this location has great prices for a gel mani and pedi. I booked an appointment but wasn't seated until probably 10-15 minutes later which was frustrating as I came during a lunch break. Once seated, I chose my nail color and they started off with the pedicure. They use a bowl under the table for this service which can be uncomfortable. I wish they had a pedicure chair. I also was blamed for not having my hand under the UV light, when the nail tech didn't turn it on. She also caused some bleeding on my cuticles. I am happy with the results but the process was not the best. My purple nail polish also started turning pink despite having the gel for less than two weeks. TLDR Unsanitary, no equipment for pedicure (they put your foot in a bucket), PAINFUL. Please do NOT come here. I booked this place on classpass because it seemed like they have a lot of reviews. The lady made my foot bleed like crazy and I had to scream for her to stop. My feet are in much worse condition than before i came here. For the pedicure, they put your foot in a bucket with cold water, then the "technician" puts it in her lap to do the service. They use this heinous shaver machine (torture!!!) and it hurt so bad and started scraping off all of my non-dead skin, I was screaming for them to stop. I've had my nails done throughout my lifetime in upwards of 50 salons, lived all over the world. I know everything from luxury to cheap, and this one is not just cheap but insanely dirty. I'm going to go to the hospital to ensure I'm not going to get a fungal infection or bacterial. Honestly kind of a hit or miss, but you really get what you pay for. The price is amazing for the area at $40 for a gel manicure and regular pedicure, so 4 stars for value. They typically don't last me as long as they would at other places. I did have one bad experience where I got a got a French manicure (paid extra) and maybe 3-4 nails were already chipping less than a week in. That instance was particularly frustrating because they gave me a different girl than I usually book with no explanation why (language barrier). They don't have a separate place for pedicures. They do it all at the manicure table, which I've never seen, which isn't a deal breaker for me. The service could be better. The woman at the front desk is not friendly at all and honestly a bit rude. Also, they mostly only speak Spanish so it can be a bit of a challenge if you have complex asks, otherwise it's fine. The girl I usually book, however, Camilla, speaks English and is careful to give you what you want. I had a lot of issues with them, which is why I can't give them five stars. One day, I was charged $20 extra for a nail polish, which I thought it was just a black color with glitter, then I learned that it was a reflective nail polish. In another appointment, I wanted glitter at the end of my nails, but they wanted to charge me $20, so I chose French instead, which costs $10. In addition, yesterday I was charged 5 only to place 2 strikers in 2 nails; the stickers were mine, and it takes 2 seconds to put them. I just do not get their prices; it does not make sense. Although the pricing for standard gel and regular pedi are acceptable, I disagree with how the owner came with the prices. So please be careful when visiting this place and always ASK before doing anything extra. I go there every two weeks and spend a lot of money, and a tip, (rubber which also cost $20) so I do not believe it's fair to charge someone only to put a sticker on their nails; now I know I can do it myself and save some money. read more

The worst service I have ever received in my life. On Saturday, April 13th, I went to get Apres refill services at the salon. Unfortunately, just one day later, I observed a disturbing black line under my nails, also the manicurist never put me anything to remove the cuticle, so my hands were battered. Concerned, I promptly contacted the local expecting professional response and a viable solution. Instead, I was met with a dismissive attitude, and an unfounded suggestion was made that I might have caused the issue by touching hair dye, which is entirely inaccurate as I have not dyed my hair. When I addressed this with the technician, I was informed that nothing could be done to assist me and was advised to call back on Monday, April 15th for further discussion. I called back on the specified date only to be informed that after discussing with the owners, no corrective action could be taken. I am not only disheartened by the lack of accountability for the subpar service rendered but also by the discourteous and unprofessional manner in which my concerns were handled. I believe it is reasonable to expect that a reputable salon like Aurora Nails would stand behind its service and rectify any mistakes or misunderstandings promptly and courteously. Unfortunately, this has not been my experience, and I find myself with a compromised nail job and out-of-pocket expenses for services I did not agree to. Normally, I wouldn't leave a negative review about an employee, but her rude and unprofessional behavior is unacceptable, especially as the first person customers interact with. I recognized her from a previous salon where she worked as a manicurist and was fired for the same behavior--driving customers away. Upon reading other reviews, and many people complaining about LORENA, it seems like history might repeat itself here. I came in to have TWO nails fixed and was unexpectedly charged for a FULL manicure. When I calmly asked for clarification, she ignored me and abruptly shoved the card machine in my face. When I calmly persisted, she raised her voice, claiming the extra charge was because I had asked her to trim TWO cuticles. To make matters worse, I overheard her yelling at my manicurist for doing exactly that. I then watched her charge another customer the same price she charged me--for a full manicure and pedicure. This kind of behavior is not only unprofessional but also reflects poorly on the salon as a whole.
