I booked my appointment weeks in advance and planned my schedule around it. Shortly before the appointment, the business rescheduled me without notice to a different day that I was not available. When I explained that I could not make the new date and asked to keep my original appointment, I was told the therapist was "at maximum capacity." I even offered to pay the difference in person if needed, but they still refused to honor the original appointment. At that point, I asked to reschedule or receive a refund since the service I paid for was never provided. The business refused both options, stating it was their policy, and then stopped responding to my messages entirely. To summarize: they require Groupon codes to be redeemed just to book, then refuse to reschedule or refund if they cancel or change the appointment. I paid for a service that was never rendered and was left with no resolution. I understand protecting staff and policies, but customers should not lose their money when the business is unable to provide the service. Based on this experience, I would not recommend using a Groupon here or booking at all unless you're willing to risk losing your payment. Jamie recommended Louis for deep tissue work, and he was exactly what I was looking for. He was professional, thorough, and clearly very experienced. He checked in throughout the session, listened to my concerns, and knew exactly where to focus. For the first time in a long time, I walked out feeling like a completely different person. The tightness and pain I had been dealing with were significantly improved, and I finally felt like I received the deep tissue treatment I had originally been looking for. My girlfriend and I have been members of The NOW for years! long enough that our current membership rate is no longer even available. We genuinely enjoy the brand and have continued supporting it because the experience has usually been consistent and worthwhile. Recently, we had an issue with another NOW location after a massage appointment was cancelled during a stressful emergency involving a chemical spill and mandatory evacuation orders near our home. Even though we cancelled through the app within the required timeframe, that location still removed our credits. After the situation was escalated, the Long Beach team stepped in and handled it with professionalism and care. A team member Brianna contacted us, apologized, listened to what happened, and let us know they would take care of us. That response meant a lot. She let us know that the GM/Owner Jaime knows who we are as long time members. What I appreciated most was that Long Beach did not make us feel like we were just another transaction or hide behind policy. They treated us like loyal members, acknowledged the situation, and worked to make it right. Customer service matters most when something goes wrong, and the Long Beach location showed exactly why we have stayed members for so long.
