After having an insanely stressful last couple weeks at work I wanted to treat myself and try to decompress and Jordan was absolutely amazing. All of the questions at the beginning to gauge my comfortability and how I wanted the massage to proceed left me feeling so at ease when it actually started. I had had a cheapy chair massage up in the bay area at a different establishment years ago that I hated. I had kept waiting for it to end. But with Jordan I was shocked when it wrapped. I booked a last-minute 80-minute massage with Emmanuel because I'm moving out of state next week and had two membership credits left to use. I honestly went in with pretty low expectations because I have extremely tight hips and piriformis issues, and it's rare that I find someone who really understands the type of massage and pressure I need. I don't know where Emmanuel came from, but he is incredible. I barely had to explain anything. I just mentioned where I was tight and what was bothering me, and from literally the first minute until the end, everything was perfect. The pressure, pace, technique, and areas he focused on were exactly what my body needed. I have genuinely never had a massage where I had absolutely zero feedback or adjustments to give. I was so relaxed I fell asleep a couple of times. I immediately booked another 80-minute massage with him for next week before I move. Now I'm actually so bummed that I discovered Emmanuel right before leaving Long Beach because if I had found him sooner, I would have been booking with him every single week. I popped my massage cherry. I ended up coming here on my birthday for a birthday massage. I was massaged by Jo who was extremely kind and thoughtful. I was able to try their 55 minute Swedish massage. The ambiance inside is dark, calming, and they have ocean waves as audio going. It is amazing. The set up is cute and aesthetic, they have a basket or hanger for your clothing and a bowl for your jewelry. The massage bed is heated so it is nice and warm in there. You won't get cold. They also have a sheet and a sheep skin looking top blanket that adds a small amount of weight that is enjoyable. Prior to walking in there's a small area where you can talk to your massage therapist and let them know about any preferences, ad ons or problematic areas. The only thing I did not like was that the lotion used leaves such an uncomfortable feeling on the skin. I don't know what exactly they use but I could just *feel* the layer of lotion sitting in top of my skin. I was itching to take a shower. It was not my cup of tea. Jo was amazing! I had so much joy and relaxation out of my massage. I had plenty of knots that she found in my upper shoulders but I did not choose to get the deep massage because I definitely would be crying and biting on the bed. My knots are crraaazyyyy so slowly but surely I'll be able to handle them coming out. I know home girl was like "this girl has some terrible shoulders" but everything is a-ok. She applied the appropriate amount of pressure and is receptive to feedback. The service overall was extremely friendly. They have complimentary water with citrus or regular water. I wish I can say I love this place since its not far from my work. I've had a lot of massages in my life and hadn't had one in a while. I was in need of one and have been looking for a spot near my work. I booked The Now online for a 50 min massage with an added $20 deep tissue option. Booking was easy and I did like that you can pay in advance online. You can select if you prefer a male or female masseuse and which type of massage you want and the duration. Upon arriving I was given some cucumber water while waiting. My masseuse met with me before to talk about where to focus and preference. I told him I wanted it hard and to focus only on upper back, neck and shoulders. My massage started off pretty soft and I had to ask him twice to go harder. He also didn't really get in there and it definitely was not deep tissue. It was relaxing but my home massager probably does a better job honestly. I've also had much better massages for half the price elsewhere. The massage "rooms" are divided up by fabric. They're still pretty private but you need to stay quiet with your masseuse. The staff is really nice and my masseuse was nice as well. I just wish he hit the spots I needed. After the massage I was given more water and checking out was easy since I had already paid. I want to give sincere credit to The NOW Massage in Long Beach for how they handled a difficult situation and made us feel valued as long-time members. My girlfriend and I have been members of The NOW for years! long enough that our current membership rate is no longer even available. We genuinely enjoy the brand and have continued supporting it because the experience has usually been consistent and worthwhile. Recently, we had an issue with another NOW location after a massage appointment was cancelled during a stressful emergency involving a chemical spill and mandatory evacuation orders near our home. Even though we cancelled through the app within the required timeframe, that location still removed our credits. After the situation was escalated, the Long Beach team stepped in and handled it with professionalism and care. A team member Brianna contacted us, apologized, listened to what happened, and let us know they would take care of us. That response meant a lot. She let us know that the GM/Owner Jaime knows who we are as long time members. What I appreciated most was that Long Beach did not make us feel like we were just another transaction or hide behind policy. They treated us like loyal members, acknowledged the situation, and worked to make it right. As I'm more reserved, I was hesitant to get a male therapist but by chance I accidentally made a mistake and didn't put a gender and got Nicholas booked. The front desk staff were very nice and did take my concern but I decided to give it a try especially because I commuted far. Honestly, I think it was a blessing in disguise, he made me feel very comfortable and he did an amazing job. I love this spot! The lobby is quaint and well fragranced, the admin are nice, the entire place is clean, the massage area is quiet, candle lit, and calming; and there's a masseuse for everyone. I've tried about 4 different masseuses and only liked 2. I've noticed they all tend to favor one side rather than being balanced in their time on both sides which is kind of frustrating and novice. They were all nice though and well receptive to comments on pressure and areas of focus. Note that deep tissue is an extra $20-25. I have the $95/mo membership and find it worth it. I love this location is in a cool and fun shopping center but parking can also be a challenge, depending on the day and time you go. I found them very easily and loved the cool, pretty, aesthetic western decor. There were two girls in the front who were so friendly and warm. They welcomed to me and assisted me right away. They also shared with me some of the other services, but they were not too pushy either. My masseuse at me and took me to a private room that is separated by heavy drapes. I love how the decor follows through into the rooms and also the restroom. It's very modern but still very chic and pretty. There's only one regret I have and it's not booking a longer session. I love that my masseuse read the room and kept things very quiet, I enjoy no communication during massage. She asked a couple of questions just to make sure I was all right. I will also say that they play a loud crashing wave which I thought was so cool. Normally you get a soft spa type music, but I actually enjoyed it. I've had a membership with The NOW for the past few months and recently cancelled and wanted to use up my remaining credits yesterday before they expired. *My experience rating is only reflective of yesterday's (1/7/26) visit -- I can happily say that all my previous visits to The NOW have been 5/5 stars* I called to book an 8:00 p.m. massage for my sister and I to use up my remaining credits. The staff members who assisted me on the call were great and the staff who were working the evening were also extremely welcoming and helpful. I was happy to see how busy the studio was at 8:00 p.m. with so many others there for their appointments. Having had a membership, I was already familiar with essentially the flow of how these sessions go (you're greeted by your masseuse, they ask areas to focus on, if you're ok with essential oils, the pressure you'd like, etc.) I opted for "The NOW" 50 mins and went through the usual greeting and upon being asked what kind of pressure I preferred, I let her know that I can handle medium to firm to which she reminded me, "Well, you booked The NOW and that's light to medium..." and I didn't think much of it (I understand requesting a deep tissue is an enhancement at additional costs) and also realized she skipped over asking whether I'd be open to essential oils at the start of my massage (something I figured she'd bring up once we got started). Well... she didn't! She got started right away so I brushed it off. I noticed that the pressure applied leaned a lot more on the "light" side rather than medium that I had requested. Another thing I noticed was the way she would adjust the heavier blanket, it felt like she was throwing it over -- obviously not really an issue but comparing to my previous experience, I've noticed that all other masseuses would gently adjust it. The massage overall was fine and at the end, I was ready to be greeted by my masseuse with a cup of water and walked out to the lobby but she just left after my massage was done. Overall, I left feeling, while relaxed, somewhat disappointed. It did not compare to the previous massages I've received which was a disappointing way to wrap up my experience at The NOW. I understand I booked a late evening appointment and maybe my masseuse was ready to wrap up her day, but it left a sour taste in my mouth. I checked in with my sister to ask how her experience was and made sure to ask if she received essential oils and was offered water after her massage, all of which she thankfully was, and I was shocked at how different my experience was to hers (this was her first time so I'm glad she received the full experience). I acknowledge these are clearly champagne problems but it had bothered me enough to want to express it. I really do enjoy The NOW and highly echo all the other 5 star reviews because they really are great! I'm sure it was just an off-night. I'd still be happy to come back but I'd make sure to book with my usuals the next time around. read more

With the chic, minimalistic aesthetic and the sounds of the ocean waves during your session, you are instantly brought to the beaches of Tulum. I've come twice and both enjoyed my time here. I usually get The NOW, their signature Swedish massage. I highly recommend my massage therapist, Kyong Mi. Before the session, she always asks about my problem areas and areas to focus on. I have horrible sleep posture and I always wake up with tense shoulders. She's a whiz at getting those knots out and relaxing my muscles. Remember to tell your therapist your preferred massage pressure. After my massage, I always feel the increase in blood flow and circulation. I just overall feel warmer. It's also a bonus to have heated massage tables. I always feel snug and cozy when under the sheets. On one of my visits, I opted to try the Gua Sha enhancement and it was interesting. I'm familiar with gua sha on my face, but it was my first time having it used on my body. It put great targeted pressure on my problem areas, but I felt the pain in my thighs. I had to ask my therapist to stop. The downside is the NOW Massage location doesn't have private massage rooms. It essentially is just one big room with cloth dividers. The dim environment, makeshift dividers, and the sounds of the ocean waves make it feel a little more private and calm. However, I'm conscious of my voice when I ask my therapist to change pressure on different parts of my body, not to gua sha in certain areas, and it's also difficult to hear my therapist's instructions. I can also hear snoring from other sessions. It just makes it difficult to have efficient communication during my session. Savings tip: Whenever I come, I take advantage of their gift card specials (buy $100, get a $20 bonus card). The gift card doesn't expire, but the bonus cards do, so it's important to take note of that. They usually have this gift card deal during the December holidays, Valentine's Day, and Mother's Day. read more

This is an updated review. I'm glad the owner takes feedbacks seriously and tried to correct the issue. I came back to give the place another try and got a great massage. The pressure, the pace was all spot on. I hope it can be consistent if I decide to come back next time. The only area of opportunity is the tipping culture. In my opinion, tipping should be discreet as it is a sensitive matter. I do not appreciate tipping under social pressure. For example, it is quite impolite of the receptionists to ask openly in front of other clients "Would you like to tip your therapist?" and "how much". A better practice that I appreciate at other massage places is to have tip placed in an envelope or have a code for client to tip the therapists directly. read more

Incredible experience. There were two of us and we wanted a girls day at the spa. We made an appointment here and we're so happy we stopped in. When we walked in, both of our masseuse's were waiting at the front door. Since it was our first time, we completed the documents for first time members which took about seven minutes. Then from there, our masseuse spent time talking to us about what we want in the massage and if we have any pain points.We both got the stretch, 80 minutes, added Gua shua, and gliding cupping.
