a plate of pancakes with bacon and eggs
    Andi F.

Cute little restaurant on the side of 190 that doesn't seem to get a lot of traffic outside of the locals. Friendly employees, very clean and neat inside. I got the blueberry pancakes and they were honking huge and very good. Great place to stop in for a quick bite.

    Total Diner Vibe
    Scott L.

Literally passing through at noon - saw the name and HAD to pull over. For one thing, I was hungry. And secondly the name and the setting said to me - "potential home-cooking goldmine" - so I'm in. It's the diner you expect before you walk in and it's the diner experience - in a good way. Rosie greeted me on the way in and set me up at the bar. Handed me the menu and told me the special - beef stew, salad, French bread and banana pudding. Nothing says home-cooking more than beef stew so that was all I needed to hear. A few minutes later it landed. Okay - full disclosure - my first reaction was - "Hmmm" - only because I was expecting a different sort of presentation. And I thought "This could be really good or really average" Really good. Like mom made. Generous portion, potatoes and carrots and corn and some green beans in there, thick gravy/sauce, rice and buttered French bread on the side. The salad was simple (shredded cheese and lettuce) but fresh. The banana pudding wasn't amazing and wasn't bad - just solidly in the middle. That being said - it was a very good experience, like the vibe, Rosie was terrific, the menu had a number of other home cooking standards that I'll have to get back here to try (Pot Roast!) - and which I expect will be very tasty. Glad I stopped in. Oh and one other thing - very easy on the wallet!

    Hot roast beef poboy

Ate here twice during our vacation . Roast beef poboy was messy - just the way I like it. My 7 year old got a half hot ham and cheese poboy with cheese fries. Ate it up! Great sweet tea and breakfast too.

Great service. She changed the air conditioning without being asked to make us more comfortable. Lots of food. We had breakfast.

They're $10 on Mondays - get in here and get you one as soon as you can...then get another. Now I can't wait until Monday. But, I was in there over the weekend, and tried a recommended dish - the Bayou Omelet. We split the dish, which we ordered with perfectly crisped hash browns (my description, not the menu), and a cathead biscuit. What's a cathead biscuit you may ask? So did we. It's a biscuit as a big as a cathead! And guess what, I hope I don't run into that cat, 'cause he's a big-un'. But back to this omelet. Dang, y'all, it was sooo good - the seafood was fresh and tasty, the eggs were cooked to perfection, and every bite screamed "we love you, thanks for stopping in!" Had some hot, black coffee with it - also pretty good...good enough for a second and third cup, for sure. Two visits in and still impressed - if you make it out, leave some time for a little stroll around the little town of Abita Springs...the Brew Pub is great for an after dinner pint to wash down whatever amazing treat you had at the Cafe'.

The atmosphere is okay and seating can be a little difficult especially if you're handicapped. They do their best to accommodate but it's still difficult to get around.

Peruvian food is a flavorful fusion of Indigenous, Spanish, Asian, and African influences known for bold flavors, fresh seafood, rice dishes, and vibrant sauces. Everything we ordered was a hit and I'll definitely be back for more! 1. Chicha Morada - A refreshing Peruvian drink made from purple corn, fruit, cinnamon, and spices with a sweet fruity flavor. (MY FAVORITE) 2. Pulpo a la Plancha - Marinated octopus served with patacones, Peruvian corn, and chimichurri. (FAVORITE) 3. Bisteck A Lo Pobre - Steak with fried egg, fried plantains, sautéed onions, and rice. 4. Al Pastor & Carnitas Tacos 5. Pablo's - A South American Taste is tucked away on the outskirts of Olde Town Slidell, and from the outside, you'd never guess what's inside. It looks unassuming--almost like a forgotten storefront--but once you walk in, WOW. Modern, stylish, great music, and such a welcoming vibe. The food was exceptional--rich flavors, beautifully executed, and incredibly satisfying. The drinks were just as impressive, creative and perfectly balanced. Every detail felt elevated. The service truly sealed the deal. Gisella was amazing--attentive, kind, and genuinely invested in making sure we had an incredible experience. You can feel the pride and passion here. Parking tip for first-timers: park on the side street since there's little to no parking directly out front. Don't let that deter you--this place is 100% worth the effort. If you love discovering hidden gems, this is your sign. Pablo's is doing something special, and I hope more people find their way here.
