    Grilled octopus (10/10)

Urgent Foodie Alert: THE SECRET IS OUT!!! Discover Pablo's- a unique hidden gem nestled in Old Town Slidell. Pablo's is adding some diversity to the food scene by serving up authentic Peruvian- South American dishes. FOOD: Tomahawk (10/10): Go ahead & splurge on every carnivore's dream - the 3 lbs tomahawk steak is well-seasoned and cooked to utter perfection. Every juicy, flavorful bite just melts in your mouth. I'm still dreaming about it & wondering when I can overindulge my appetite again. ($$$: current price $35 per lb, which was totally worth it!) Grilled octopus (10/10): The bold flavor and spice really wake up your taste buds! The octopus was grilled perfectly & just like the tomahawk steak, melted like butter with every bite. It's quite difficult to prepare octopus without it being chewy or overcooked & I really appreciate the extra TLC that Chef put into this dish. Papa la huancaina (10/10): tender potatoes swimming in spicy yellow pepper cream woke up our taste buds; I wanted to drink the sauce or dip it with everything that I ate! DRINKS: We've stopped in for drinks on occasion and every drink we've had was expertly crafted- sometimes they even looked too pretty to drink! You can't go wrong with their drink menu selections. SERVICE: Stellar service from beginning to end- we felt so welcomed and not rushed at all. We took our time to enjoy and devour every single bite of deliciousness. Fantastic food and flavor will fire up your dining experience in Pablo's beautiful atmosphere, whether dining inside or al fresco. Grab a cocktail and enjoy a beautiful day or night out at Pablo's! Make your plans now for an unforgettable A+++ experience!

Food was absolutely amazing! Some of the best flavor I've ever had. Highly recommend on a night out, the drinks were phenomenal as well. Ambience was very fun and energetic! Service was great as well.

Don't sleep on this one. Pablo's has a great menu, very varied. The fettuccine I had was so good. The interior is decorated nicely. They make good use of the small space. There is also outdoor seating in the back. Every time I've been the service has been excellent.

What a cute place! The restaurant had about maybe 20 tables inside and outside altogether. The outside looks so fun, with a great vibe. Parking is a little tricky as you must park on Cousin or Carey St and enter by the rear of the restaurant thru the patio area. Signage in the back is not real big so it may be hard to see. I had the flank steak with a green pesto type sauce over fettuccine and it was good. My friend had the Loma Saltado and it was very good, the beef very tender. Only negative was that I wish they served iced tea. Lunch crowd was steady from noon til we left at 1:30 but no wait for tables..yet Kaylee our server was very attentive too. We will be back!

Our server was AMAZING and attentive. The inside was so quaint and cozy as well as the outdoor areas with shade tarps and twinkle lights. The food was so good and the Pisco Sours were heavenly. Parking is a little tricky but that wouldn't stop from going back frequently! A+++++

A Latin style tapas place in the arts district boasting flavors from South America (Argentina,…read morePeru, Venezuela, Yucatan), Mexico (Oaxaca and Mexico City), and the Caribbean. Fresh seafood from the Gulf of MEXICO and a wicked drink menu. They offer several ceviches. Tapas include guacamole, empanadas, crawfish queso, fish dip and veggie salads like crispy cauliflower and Brussels sprouts. We had the crispy cauliflower served with tempura, cashew habanero crema, garbanzo hash, and chimichurri. Loads of flavor and just the right bite size for tapas/apps. Plates include churrasco, fish and grits, paella (can be served veggie or without shellfish if you're allergic), lamb, Yucatan style pork, shrimp or steak mofongo, and chicken poblano. I had the churrasco, served with papas bravas. Steak cooked perfectly and seasoned perfectly. My husband had the steak mofongo and the beef tips, like the churrasco, were seasoned perfectly. The plantain mash was sweet and somehow savory at the same time. We loved both dishes. They make mean margaritas and caipirinhas hre, and also offer drinks like the paloma, the Bolivian sour, sangria, and specialty drinks. Service was amazing. She was so upbeat and helpful. This restaurant was a little slow when we went. It deserves a lot more love. It's so close to the touristy part of the French Quarter. Leave the gimmicky spots and come here, you won't regret it.

Definitely worth trying. Cute restaurant. Nice ambiance and vice. Clean…read more The crawfish Queso is mild, not spicy at all. Good flavor. The shrimp ceviche is delicious. The sauce is spicy. If you like spicy- get this dish. Not your typical ceviche. The Mofongo is tasty. If you like Vinha D'Alhos. You'll like this dish. The steak had a marinated vinegar taste. The meat is also very tender. Service was good. Waitress was nice and welcoming.

We live a few blocks away from this location and walk over once or twice a month to pick up…read moreempanadas. We've generally loved the food and service, but I'm worried that something has changed as we've been disappointed the last two times. 10 days ago we went with company in town, and my niece and I each got the caprese empanadas. Everyone else's order was fine but my caprese had green olives in it, which is not ever an ingredient in caprese anything and isn't listed under caprese in the empanola menu either. My niece's didn't have the olives, so I chalked this up to a random mistake and let it go. I did drop a quick note to the company on their "contact us" button just as an fyi for quality control, just in case it was a more regular mistake they should address, but I also said it wasn't a big deal, I just wanted to make them aware. Tonight we ordered 8 empanadas but only had 6 in the box when we got home. My husband drove back over quickly as they were about to close. I texted him while he was there replacing the other two missing empanadas, to let him know there were green olives yet again in the two caprese empanadas. The staff were very friendly and helpful and assured him that green olives are not in their recipe and asked for pictures, which I sent. They replaced my two caprese with the only one they had left, and threw in the next closest thing, which was spinach and artichoke, though I don't love that one personally. Anyway, the replacement caprese also has green olives in it now too, so I'm going to go make myself something else for dinner and now don't feel like ordering my caprese favorites anymore from there, as this is apparently an ongoing and regular mistake. I'm really bummed about this as the workers are very friendly and we've had lots of great experiences with this place that's so convenient and easy for us to walk to also. We love supporting all the great neighborhood businesses around here, of which Empanola has been high on our list for quite a while. I hope they get this sorted out, and I hope that there's a way I can know when the issue is fixed as I've now paid for three (and got two more free, for a total of 5) empanadas that were not actual caprese and I didn't like. It's most disappointing to my tastebuds, but it's now a risk I don't want to keep taking with my money either, as I'm paying for this continued disappointment. My husband will still continue to order with the kids when I'm not home, but we won't order as a family anymore for a while. I can't wait til this is hopefully cleared up again though so we can go back to loving this place!
