The house is very old so the stairs Creek and the radiators rattle in reminiscence of my grandma's house, which was so endearing. the hot water works amazing and the beds every one of them was comfortable clean, and the rooms were dark and air-conditioned. The downtown grill double booked our rehearsal dinner and gave the space to another party, (that's a separate yelp uggh ) our dinner plans were squashed, "the cottages" stepped in and helped us accommodate a group of 20 to 30 people catering from Morrisseys Front Porch and using the outdoor areas on a beautiful summer night the evening was a smashing success. I will say that one of the best parts of my son's wedding was being able to stay at the cottages where we all gathered and had an amazing time we were due to leave on Monday, but extended our stay till Wednesday. the proximity of this property to stores and restaurants made everything so easy . If you don't like dogs or are allergic, this is not the place for you. But for me, it was great. I love dogs. There were well behaved and the whole property is invisible fenced, including the inside. You don't have to worry about them going into your room. All in all, this place is great. I would highly recommend Lake View Inn. It's the perfect lake regions B & B.

It was a busy weekend for the area as it was Motorcycle Week and we had a difficult time finding accommodations. After exploring the local hotels and motels we thought we'd give a look into B&B's when we came across this one- with availability!! Connie was knowledgeable about the town and offered us recommendations for dinner. Wally was insightful about the surrounding lakes. We were very fortunate to have found them. Connie and Wally showed us about the property- very beautiful Old New England charm and our hosts kindly allowed us to park our boat behind the building and let us charge it. The common areas were very pleasant and relaxed. Our room was very clean and spacious, the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was beautifully updated with a fun and spacious Jacuzzi tub for two. ;) We had the most delectable breakfast. Wally wakes up 2 hours before breakfast to make the batter for the pancakes. I hope that wasn't a secret! But I'm sure there is more to it as they are crispy on the outside and perfectly fluffy on the inside! I would love to learn how he does this! I can't say enough about how kind and generous Connie and Wally are! We had a most pleasant experience with our first B&B and look forward to another visit.

Just had a spectacular weekend spent at the Lakehouse, what a great spot to relax…read more I especially loved sitting on the the huge farmers porch drinking my fresh brewed morning coffee and watching the sunrise while listening to the loons calling, I felt like I was in the movie " On Golden Pond" ! Then step inside where you find a very comfortable living room and the most beautiful stone fireplace I have ever seen! Most of the rooms have beautiful scenic views of the lake. I have a question though, is there such a thing as a million thread count sheet or pillow case? Because I think this place has them, I have bad shoulders and this was the best sleep I had in years!! That's why I was able to get up early and watch the sunrise and enjoy an excellent breakfast on the porch prepared by the owner himself, thanks Al! Last but definitely not least Al's wife Pamela is just the nicest person, making everyone feel as relaxed as if you were in your own home, she is full of ideas for all your local needs from dining to local recreation. For all the reasons you see on the website: the impeccable cleanliness, comfort and loveliness of the guest rooms, the elegance and style of the house and its history; the dedication to the comfort and pleasure of the guests, the homemade breakfasts, the location, the relaxed but elegant and welcoming vibe. But most of all, for us, what distinguishes The Mulburn Inn are the hosts, Dave and Karen. Dave had me at "Hello." I called to say we would be late, and he was simply wonderful; we were headed to theater up the road apiece and Dave was relaxed and kind and completely accommodating. Later we discovered Karen and Dave have set up their screened-in porch for their guests, with clean-burning propane fire tables filled with amber fire glass. Despite the chilly North Country climes, we were wonderfully warm. But if we needed more, they also had outdoor heat lamps, enabling us to spend hours hanging outside. It is bliss. Best of all? Dave and Karen hung out on the porch with us. I have never laughed so hard as I did at Dave's expert, hilarious storytelling. (Karen is the perfect foil, filling in the blanks with actual facts when needed.) And if you are really lucky, you will catch a glimpse of their two elderly Dachshunds who are the sweetest. Plus, if you are curious about the fascinating, star-studded history of The Mulburn Inn (formerly The Ivie Estate), just ask, and Dave will regale you with the best stories of its history! Karen's décor with the perfect style of country and cool top off the experience, as do the snacks they put out for night owls like my husband and me. There's much more to tell, but I'm trying to keep this shorter than novel length. We loved it so much, we made reservations to return 8 weeks later! Each room is nicely adorned and we selected the Governor's Room which had ample space and extremely comfortable. The queen size bed provided an excellent night's sleep and there was no shortage of towels available. Personally I didn't care for the bathroom toiletries but being finicky I travel with my own. There is a very nice continental breakfast provided in the dining area where you have an opportunity to interact with Cindy and the other guests. What was most surprising and very much appreciated was the fact that we didn't have anything to do until the afternoon and Cindy was kind enough to say we could stay as long as we liked. She provided this courtesy to another guest who was in a similar situation. This was a very pleasant experience and there is no doubt this won't be the last time we visit Topsiders. Thanks Cindy!
