We had a lovely traditional B and B experience. Mark and Lynn were accommodating from reservation to good bye. They spent time offering local recommendations, most appreciated. They also respected our space, allowing us to enjoy quiet time, fireside. The property is charming, steeped in history. The fire was lit during our entire 18 hour stay. There is a free water and beer bar (my bf loved the choices) and tasty baked treats. The public rooms include a library, a game area, dining spots and a pool table. Our room was Clove. It was quite large with a tiny shower room. Our bed was super comfy. The bedding was warm and cozy. Our pillows could have used an airing. The walls are paper thin. Our phone white noise app helped. We checked out at 7 to hit the slopes. Lynn and Mark made us a to go bag with tasty homemade bread (AMAZING) with house made nutella (are you kidding) and the best parfait with house made granola. SUBLIME. Nutmeg is 20+ minutes to Gunstock and convenient to local tourist attractions. We loved Nutmeg Inn. It's charming and so cozy. read more

This place is amazing. It was bought about a year ago by Kevin and Karen. They both were amazing innkeepers. They welcomed us into their home and shared the unique history of the inn. The common areas in the main inn were so beautiful. We stayed in one of the suites. Every detail was seen to, so that all their guests would feel comfortable. Every room in both the main inn and our suite were extremely clean and well maintained Karen cooked the most amazing breakfasts, complete with homemade granola and sourdough bread, amazing coffee and different main course each day. There were a wide variety of seating options in different rooms and outside so that people would feel safe, while eating their delicious breakfast. This was our first stay, but we are already planning to go back. read more

I spent the past weekend at the Nutmeg Inn. Previous to my arrival I received a call from Kevin to inform early check in was no problem and provided instructs on how to enter in case he or his wife (Karen) were out. This was very courteous and the first indication of how friendly both Karen and Kevin are, they are great. The Inn itself is a very old home which is well preserved and decor was reflective of its heritage. Very warm and friendly much like the hosts. There is a cozy front room with a large fireplace which was so nice and relaxing. Also a game room with billiards and shuffleboard. The breakfast was served at various available seats throughout the first floor and was very nice. The bedroom although on the smaller side was also very nice in both décor and comfort. It would have been a perfect 5 star for me except there was a fireplace in the room with a provided duraflame log. Unfortunately on this given night with temps hovering at zero degrees the duraflame couldn't contend with the freezing downdraft so smoke backed it the room setting off the smoke detectors. It took two hours to clear that up. That was a freak happening and does not stop me from highly recommending this Inn. read more

I've been to several b&b's and breakfast was always a big spread with lots of variety and choices. in this case the breakfast was very average and there was basically one option that was served. the rooms we're nice and fairly comfortable. read more

Amazing location. Went for bike week, close enough to the action but not right into downtown traffic and the noise. Yes we go to see the bikes hear the bikes and to ride. We also want to sleep when we want! Very clean, the grounds garden and pool are amazing. The Innkeepers have thought of everything. This is a place you want to stay. read more

If we could give the Nutmeg Inn more than 5 stars we would. We stayed here for 4 nights in mid July. Having never been to the Lake Winnipesaukee area before, and not knowing what to expect during the ongoing pandemic, we can not say enough great things about the Inn and the Innkeepers Lynne and Mark. The rooms were very clean and the beds were extra comfy, the breakfast and snacks provided every day were off the charts delicious and much better than one could ever get in a hotel, and the overall ambience and grounds were beautiful. Lynne and Mark helped make our trip even better by providing us with fabulous recommendations from great hiking trails to great restaurants. And they went above and beyond to make their guests feel comfortable and safe in every way by ensuring everyone wore masks, provided hand sanitizer stations throughout, and took extra caution in the way they sat and served the guests. My brother and I stayed here when we went to a local wedding. The house, I believe, was built in 1763. The owners are super friendly, and serve a delicious breakfast to the guests. I felt like I travelled back in time. I really love this place. read more

So this little bed and breakfast is in an idyllic little New Hampshire town called Meredith. The house is warm and cozy, the wood and wallpaper speaking to its age as a classic New England home. The smell, the warmth, the pleasant owners make you feel at home. Available to guests 24/7 is bottled water, juice, soda, and a few local craft beers on the fridge. Yes, free beer! There aren't a ton, something like a six-pack worth. It's more like a beer at the end of a day, not a night of drinking worth. You're a guest here folks! We had a unique situation for check-in. We were running late for a wedding in town and were unable to check in. We called and left a message informing the owners that we would be arriving late. One of the owners called back and left a message. He informed us that we would probably be back after his bedtime (they wake up at 5am every day!) but he would leave a welcome letter and keys to our room in an envelope out front. It was waiting for us after the wedding! Each room is named after a spice, we stayed in the Parsley. The rooms are different layouts depending where in the home it was situated. Ours was a cozy room with a low ceiling, but beautiful, cozy bed. Each room has its own bathroom, with the soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and shower cap. Breakfast is made from scratch. They make a large artisan loaf if bread. There are jams, butter, and homemade Nutella they make themselves (delicious). They had yogurt and granola (granola made from scratch). Breakfast served was roasted pears for a starter, then french toast with sliced almonds and powdered sugar. The French toast was different from what I'm used to, it was a spectacular breakfast. Highly recommend staying here if you are visiting the laconia/lake Winnipesaukee area. read more

Came for an event, but now I'm coming back every year. The owners were wonderful. The breakfast was more gourmet than a typical B.B. we stayed in our own cabin "the sugar shack". With a beautiful spiral staircase and super comfortable bed, we felt like we were at a wonderful retreat. Beautiful garden and swimming pool, the house is meticulously cared for. It really is breathtaking. We could not ask for a better B.B. Just stunning !!!! read more

What a marvelous stay! This BnB is so cozy and quaint! Mark and Lynn made us feel right at home and openly accommodated all of our needs! Highly suggest grabbing a bottle of wine while you're in town, sitting down by the fire, and enjoying a game of Scrabble. Also, there's an exercise room with an elliptical! Pleasant and unexpected surprise! You also MUST try Marks homemade sourdough bread and homemade Nutella spread. I could have eaten that all day! read more

We stayed at this inn last weekend and had a wonderful stay! The inn is typical New England charm built in 1763 and full of stories and history which the current owners are happy to share! Lynne and Mark are gracious hosts, the coolest perk is the coffee, tea station also complete with a mini fridge of water beer and wine (very cool!). The rooms are cozy and clean for a goodnight sleep! Also in the winter months there's a roaring fire in the living room which is just nice to come home to. However what you should look forward to most here is the incredible breakfast! They are happy to accommodate allergies and such because everything is made fresh daily and homemade. You will not leave here without a good night rest and full belly, we will certainly be back! read more

Truly a little slice of heaven! I started my vacation with 5 days here and it was perfect. I went in October and not being accustomed to the cold, the Nutmeg was always warm and inviting. With fresh bread every morning, fires burning, candles lit, great breakfast and snacks..... We were comfortable sitting around the fire with the other guests or just by ourselves. You can believe every positive review that you read. The inn is beautiful, historic and comfortable. Lynn and Mark couldn't be more hospitable. It's obvious that they love what they do. We stayed in the Cinnamon Room. It was spacious and comfortable. There's a working fireplace in the room (altho you can only burn artificial logs in it). Breakfast was delicious. My family and I stayed two nights at the Nutmeg Inn, and enjoyed every moment. In fact, I wish we had more time as both Lynne and Mark are not only fantastic hosts, but the property is beautiful and well-located to so much. My two sons (5 and 9) loved the pool, the homemade bird houses, the game room, and most especially the breakfasts each morning. For me, I was intrigued about the history of the Inn, and for those that love old buildings with lots of character, you won't be disappointed. Mark and Lynne are very gracious and attentive, and gave great suggestions for nearby attractions. I highly recommend the Nutmeg Inn and look forward to staying here again. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this B&B. When my wife and I arrived, Lynne gave us a fascinating walk through if the if history behind the inn and what purposes it has served through history (under ground railroad, Girl Scout camp, etc). She then showed us to our room which was very clean and quaint. In the morning the breakfast was out of this world. There was homemade sourdough bread and a French toast bake that would knock your socks off. We will most definitely be back. read more

The Nutmeg Inn is a true treasure! From the charm, to the amazing hosts, to the delicious breakfast, everything about the B&B makes you feel at home. Mark and Lynne welcomed us warmly and learned our names immediately. They told us all about the Inn's history and some truly fascinating, unexpected factoids. We were welcomed to light a fire in the fire pit and Lynne left a s'mores kit out for us. Our only regret that evening was being too tired after dinner to enjoy the fire pit or scrabble by the fireplace. Breakfast in the morning was a glorious affair with Mark's homemade sourdough, Lynne's homemade granola, fruits and frittata galore. We played a few games of pool on their antique billiard table before enjoying the foliage on the porch and packing up. We really enjoyed our stay at the Nutmeg Inn. It was everything I had hoped for before opening the front door. As soon as I entered the Great Room and heard the fireplace going and the smell of cinnamon throughout the main floor I knew the experience was going to be memorable! The Innkeepers did not leave any stone unturned in regards to details. A great experience with a hearty breakfast and warm hospitality that can't be beat.
