My husband and I stayed at this very comfortable place in the heart of Portland. We were greeted by two friendly huskys housed in the kitchen every time we went up or down the stairs and had the option to give them treats. The very kind hostess and owner prepared a delicious breakfast every morning. Our room was very comfortable with our own private bathroom. Great choice!

Such a wonderful, beautiful, cozy and comfortable place to stay. Wonderful location. Baxter room was small and very comfortable for us. Breakfast was AMAZING, she even made sure to be careful when cooking with my husbands dairy allergy, she was very mindful. The inn keeper and her two beautiful dogs were just wonderful. The whole stay was perfect and we would (will) definitely return.

An absolutely adorable and wonderful B&B, our stay at the Chadwick was everything you want out of a cozy weekend get away! Ideally located on the West side of Portland tucked into a cute neighborhood, the Chadwick is just a few minutes away from Congress St and a quick 10 min walk to downtown Portland. We arrived a few hours before check-in, but were allowed to park our car in our assigned spot and get our day going early. After a long day walking the city, we arrived back to the hotel in the evening. There is a key pad on the front door (owners text you the code daily) so that you can come and go as you please, and check in is online and in advance, so you have maximum flexibility in planning your day. In terms of COVID precautions, everything felt very safe - from contactless check in, to distancing of the dining space, and thorough cleaning of our room. These are also all laid out on their website, so you can specifically reference. We stayed in the Baxter room, which is advertised as the smallest room but I think is the true gem of them all! This is the only room that has a cute little private balcony, perfect for an evening drink or morning coffee. There are other adorable B&B features, including an electric fireplace, cozy robes, and a private updated bathroom. The decor throughout the entire hotel reflects a modern victorian flair that continues to add to the charm. And importantly - the food! Breakfast each morning is a home made, unique choice from Innkeeper Erin - who was fantastic! Our breakfast was yogurt with honey and dried cherries, followed by strawberry shortcake waffles and a side of scrambled eggs and fruit (see photo). Everything was DELICIOUS and the portions were more than ample. As we were celebrating my birthday, Erin even thought to leave a nice note with a cookie and candle :) Of note, they also have a bunch of complementary snacks (fruit, energy bars, coffee, tea, seltzer), as well as cocktails/wine available for purchase. Overall, would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat. This was everything you could want in a weekend B&B getaway, and you are guaranteed an excellent stay!!

This is exactly what you should want from a BnB, lovely old home, family atmosphere, comfortable room and bathroom, not jam packed full of rooms and guests, and a delicious breakfast. My wife and I stayed here for two nights and loved everything about the home. The free amenities were pretty straight forward: snacks, coffee, tea, games/DVDs, newspapers and other drinks. They had great add-on prices for bottles of wine or breakfast cocktails. As far as I could tell (or remember) there were only 4 or so rooms, and my wife and I stayed in Room 4. Our bathroom wasn't attached but that was not a problem for us. We had a large and very comfortable bed and the inn was quiet so we slept great. For breakfast on the first morning we had pumpkin spice waffles with fresh fruit and sausage. Absolutely delicious, with just the right amount of syrup. On the second day we had an everything bagel with lox, homemade cream cheese and other accompaniments. Also great. Highly recommend.

My husband and I stayed here for a full week during our honey moon. It was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast and we were both a little nervous. When we pulled onto the street we were a little disappointed that is was located right across from a hospital. However in the full week we were there it was so quiet, neither of us can recall having a single disturbance. The house itself is beautiful!! It is very clean and decorated very nicely. We felt at home immediately. The atmosphere is so warm and inviting. We stayed in the Baxter room which was on the smaller side but very intimate and cozy. There was a tiny private balcony off of the sliding door in our room which was nice to look out of while drinking my morning coffee. There was a private bathroom right across the hall that was very clean and stocked very well. There is a heated fan in there as well! Awesome!! Ok now let's talk about breakfast.. Out of this world! Every morning was something even more delicious than the morning before. They would bring out a little appetizer like yogurt and granola or fresh scones while you were waiting and you would almost be full before the actual breakfast. Scott and Erin were very nice and very accommodating. Erin was also very helpful when it came to recommending local attractions. We absolutely loved our stay here. We hope to return some day!

It isn't super close to Old Port, but it's about a 20-25 minute walk, even faster if you have a car or bike. Our host, David, was so gracious and kind. He gave us all kinds of tips on where to eat, what to see, and which neighborhoods to check out. And the breakfast options. Holy moly. These are some of the things David made: lobster souffle; turkey bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast puff pastry; raspberry custard; pancakes with wild blueberry compote; lobster home fries. Honestly, some of our best meals in Portland were eaten right in this very B&B. He even puts snacks in the second floor lounge area (there's also tea and chips) every day, and on an especially hot day he put out a pitcher of pink lemonade. It seems like almost all the cooking and cleaning is done by him. I'm not sure how he manages it and yet everything is flawless, but there you go. Reserve your room early because it was booked solid the whole time we were there. Totally worth it.

There's a water dispenser, Keurig machine (with reusable kcups!), tea and snacks avail 24/7. We stayed in room 1 which was just enough space for two. No issues with getting warm water in the shower. The only thing to note is that room 1 is right outside the communal area on the 2nd floor. We had no trouble with noise overall but if people outside the room were talking or walking by, we heard very clearly. Definitely recommend and would love to come back when it's warmer!

It was our first time staying in a B&B and this place exceeded our expectations. It was a charming little place with six unique rooms. Breakfast was wonderful and made to order each morning. It was about a 20 minute walk from the main strip of Portland, but there was also a good selection of restaurants in the West End. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Upon our arrival, there was no one to greet us or direct us to our room. Instead, there was a locked front door and a note saying the entry instructions were included in an email sent sometime earlier. There was also a phone number to call if we needed help. So, standing there on the stoop, in the rain with my wife and our luggage, tired from a long day of driving, I called the number. Milan answered and repeated what the note had said about the instructions being sent via email sometime earlier. So now, still standing on the stoop, I'm scrolling through emails trying to find the one they sent me a day or two earlier. I eventually found a lengthy email with all sorts of information, most of which was irrelevant to us. I sifted through that haystack of verbage and finally found the needle containing the entry instructions and got into the place. Once in, we had to search around to find our room, eventually found it and got settled in, a little frustrated at the experience of getting there. Nevertheless, the room was nice and Milan later showed up (evidently sensing our irritation at the hoops we'd been required to jump through) and told us breakfast was served at a second inn a block away and we were welcome to join them in the morning. We passed on that. If you like the modern e-era and minimal human interaction, this place is for you. On the other hand, if you're expecting a little something more than than just a days-old email, you'll be disappointed.
