The holsters are pretty good although you need to be vigilant in keeping the fasteners from loosening. This review is about the response from the website. I purchased an XDm with a 4.5 inch barrel around the time the shapeshift came out. I decided to wait for the shapeshift to be available for this gun. When I ask when it will be I get a stock answer to sign up for emails. The closest I have come to an answer was a real person told me today that he can only comment about what is on the calendar. That lets me know they haven't even planned to make it for my Xdm. I'm tired of waiting. I want to carry this gun and will have to go to another manufacturer. read more

I placed an order over a month ago for 3 holsters and decided to cancel my order this morning due to slow service and my item not being ready in the allotted time specified on the website of 3-4 weeks. I called to follow up about a week ago and was told by a customer service rep it would be shipped on time but I hadn't received and update or tracking information. So I followed up this morning just to be told my item wasn't going to be ready and shipped until mid-May possibly and that wasn't for sure due to lack of staff. If more time is needed it should be specified on the website or blog post. Knowing such information I would of went a different route for my items. But instead, I am now waiting 5-8 days for my $200 order to be reimbursed onto my card. My purchase was based on reviews and word of mouth of good customer service and fast delivery. I placed an order with Alien Gear and it wasn't till after I had made my payment I was informed my holster could take up to a couple weeks before it would be made. WHAT? Many of you like me would have backed out of the commitment to buy if you knew that up front. That's is deceptive. Smart on their part I guess to suck you in first. I called and complained. I was told they would try and rush my order. Well 2.5 weeks later I check and its still in production. Mislead me a 2nd time. Sent email asking for my holster to be sent that day or refund my money. No answer. Assuming they are avoiding me. Called on the phone, explained I was upset. Got my money refunded finally. No - sorry, no - let us try and make it right, no nothing. These people don't care about customer service nor taking care of their customers. They may have a good product. I will never know. I do know if customer service is important to you, you are making a mistake dealing with them. Don't drink the Kool-Aid as others have. There is no excuse for poor customer service. If you have had a bad experience with Alien Gear, please let me know. Dont let the rating fool you, I used to LOVE these holsters. I Have used my holsters since Janurary of 2016 and let me say that I love them. I have both the OWB Cloak slide and the IWB Cloak tuck. These are bar none my favorite holsters. Until today. Now I'm just super annoyed. The OWB holster is my go to, wear everywhere, every day holster. It holds my firearm perfectly, and is comfortable to wear. The belt straps have been getting worn out and have finally broke. No harm no foul it's been rode hard and put away wet. Nothing lasts forever especially when its well used. However try to order new ones.......YOU CANT..... Not available....... You can ONLY send in the whole holster for repair or replacement at your cost with the original order number. For a holster that is modular this is ludicrous. I don't have the original order number handy from years ago nor do I feel like searching through years of emails to find it. I don't care if it's warranted. I just want to buy new straps and call it a day and not go through the hassle of shipping it in at my cost and waiting for it to come back repaired. Talked to their customer service both online and on the phone and that is the only nonsensical option......loved your holster until today. Why not sell spare parts Alien Gear? I am contacting you because I am absolutely enraged and want to return every one of my holsters! Today I experienced a catastrophic faliure of my Glock 32 OWB holster and LOST my weapon. After riding my Harley for 7 hours me and my fiance decided to call it a night in Dothan, AL. I carry daily with a variety of holsters and weapons. Today my choice was my new OWB Glock 32 holster and weapon. After settling into the hotel and parking the bikes we decided to walk 1/2 mile down to Outback. On the way back, I noticed my weapon was gone! I immediately called Outback thinking it has wiggled loose in the booth. It was not there. I immediately begin to panic. I had my weapon while on the bike as well as the beginning of my walk to and from Outback. We immediately began backtracking our steps. We found my loaded Glock 32 sitting on the side of the road! A loaded gun sitting in the road! Can you imagine if someone had found it? Child? Criminal? Drug addict? Once we got back to the hotel i investigated the holster. 3 screws had worked their way loose. I have not adjusted or modofied this holster in any way. How can you have a product fail so badly and risk life! I wont ever feel secure carrying a gun in one of your holsters ever again. Fantastic company that produces affordable quality gun holsters. I purchased a Cloak Tuck 3.0 last Saturday and it was at my door on Monday afternoon. The holster is simple to put on, easier to adjust than most other versions I have seen, and considerably less expensive. Customer service was great, as they sent me a 2nd hardware kit as the one that came with the holster was missing the Allen key. I've been wearing the holster all week and honestly forget that it's there after some time. It conceals my full size Clock 17 without any issues. I am an owner of 3 Alien Gear Cloak Tuck 2.0 IWB holsters. They are by far the most comfortable holsters I've ever owned. I regularly wear mine about 14 hours a day without any discomfort. After a year of wear and tear two of my holsters developed a slight defect. The plastic core broke but was still sturdy and functional, just a little annoying. I called the company to request a warranty. I sat on hold for about 20 min before I spoke to a representative. They were very helpful and offered to mail both of my new holster bases Immediately. I decided to upgrade the holsters to the new 3.0 model. They prorated the cost difference, $18 and week later I had them. I will be a customer for life. As for the wait time, Alien Gear is a small American company with a fast growing popularity nationwide. So it's totally understandable if they can't answer the phone on the first ring. Their product and customer service is worth the wait. I'm sure as the company grows things will speed up. So if you're impatient and want a holster yesterday go buy some cheep crap from Cabelas. Alien Gear Holsters are top of the line. I just got 2 holsters in the mail from them. A friend of mine recommend them after buying one. Once I saw his and how well it fit his XDs plus the high quality I decided to get one. I just got the brand new XD Mod. 2 and with being such a new gun I wasn't sure if I would find a custom fitting holster easily. Alien Gear didn't specifically have the Mod. 2 listed so I emailed them about it. I only took a couple hours and I was emailed back saying the holster for the XD Subcompact 3" should fit just fine, if not, I could return it. I decided to get the 2 holster deal, I got both an inside the waistband and an outside the waistband holster. About a week after ordering them I got an email saying they hadn't forgotten me. Then 2.5 weeks after ordering I got a email with my tracking number in it. A total of 3 weeks and I had my holsters. My friend said his took about 5 weeks to arrive so I was very pleased to get them so fast. The quality is outstanding and their warranty is great. read more

If anyone is considering purchasing anything from Alien Gear Holsters, don't waste your time or money. I'm sure their holsters are very nice, but it doesn't look like I'll ever know for sure. They were very quick to take my money, and then responded with an email thanking me for my purchase and telling me that they won't even be able to process and ship my order for 3-4 weeks. After four weeks of waiting, I received another email stating that estimate was incorrect and it would actually take 4-6 weeks (I'm guessing I'll receive another email soon stating that it'll actually take 6-8 weeks at this rate). Decent holster but very poor customer service. Buyer beware, this company will charge you immediately for your order. I ordered belt and second holster on December 20th. My Credit card was charged that day but never received any email confirmation. Their website was estimating 2 to 3 weeks for processing. Anyways on January 12th, after numerous unanswered emails and website PM's I called, after waiting for close to 30 minutes, the customer service person was talking so fast i could not understand... anyways it was excuse after excuse as to why my order was not shipped.. latest was they "run out of material for the belt i ordered". Why I asked why my holster wasn't shipped her response "we don't ship separately", She could not give my even a guess on when my order will be shipped so I asked for a refund.
