I got Invisalign treatment with Align Orthodontics and it was a great experience as an adult. I came in for a second opinion after my general dentist had did my initial evaluation for clear liners. Align Orthodontics evaluation was extremely thorough and thought and completely blew me away. Dr. Nguyen walked through all the areas of treatment, duration, complexities, and goals. The evaluation not only had a clinical portion, but had a financial portion too where the total cost of care, payment plans options, insurance etc were discussed. After the evaluation, a formal report detailing treatment was sent! There were so many logistics that Align did well and executed. Initially, I had to come in every other week for visits to tighten my power chains and then eventually I graduated out of that. I also moved out of the San Diego Area and the team was able to accommodate keeping my treatment on track based on their once a month Saturday appointments. Administratively, the office is very organized, you get text reminders of appointments. They are open on selected Saturdays which is really great for flexibility, but appointments do book up, so get on the calendar well in advance. I never had a problem 6-8 weeks ahead getting an appointment at 8 am on a Saturday. The office was immaculate and clean. All the support staff were super great. They also did a great job documenting your journey. My treatment did go a bit longer than expected because I moved out of San Diego and had to do some extra refinements to get things just perfect. We started coming to Align for about 2 years now. It started with the kid wearing a retainer due to an adult tooth growing while the baby tooth hadn't fall off. We were happy to step into a bright and clean waiting area. It has a happy vibe. The front staff is courteous and always has a smile on their face. Dr. Nguyen and her medical staff explain the situation and treatment in details. We felt well taken care and never felt rushed in every visit. Fast forward to this week. The kid starts Invisalign treatment. Dr Nguyen describes the pros and cons, the duration, the cost between braces and Invisalign. We were able to make an informed decision. My daughter was referred to Align by our dentist in Poway. She wasn't quite ready for braces as she still had a lot of baby teeth. Dr. Nguyen never rushed treatment and was patient with my daughter's baby teeth falling out on their own. Great communication and very professional before we even started braces. After we began treatment, the appointments were usually pretty quick and the availability of appointments was open. All the staff were friendly and helpful. My family dentist referred me to an oral surgeon for extraction of a wiggly tooth to be followed by a dental implant. Since I also have under bite concern, I opted to see Dr Nguyen for a second opinion. She recommended Invisalign treatment to correct the under bite and made the dental implant unnecessary. The treatment is almost completed, the result excellent and the savings was "huge" since dental implant no longer needed. It's really sad to have to rate Align Orthodontics so low, as my experience with them started out exceptional. I found Dr. Nguyen through Instagram, and was excited to hire her because I resonated with her treatment style. My case is complicated and upon doing more research, I found another orthodontist who specializes in adult maxilla expansion, which, after discussing my treatment options with Dr. Nguyen, she said was probably necessary in my case. The other ortho's treatment would mean I could possibly avoid jaw surgery (Dr. Nguyen referred me to a surgeon for possible surgery). So I decided to switch orthodontists. Now, the office was quick and easy with switching doctors. They calculated my completed treatment time and refunded me fairly for the unused difference. So, what's my problem? Dr. Nguyen and her team loudly and proudly exclaimed that they use more Invisalign "buttons" than any other provider, ever. The doctor said she's "button" happy, and with good reason. And like I said, my case is complicated and I had already had experience with Invisalign, therefore I knew her statement to be true. I asked them who would take off the "buttons" when I switched providers, and they told me my new provider should be able to do it. Well, I went to my new doctor and, SURPRISE, they had NEVER seen so many buttons in their life. They had no idea how to find them all (I sometimes had 2 or 3 on one tooth). So I called Dr. Nguyen's office and asked if they could help take off the remaining buttons...and HERE is when the problem began. First, they were SO RUDE to me after I was no longer a patient. The office staff told me that I am no longer a patient and therefore, they can't help me. I told them my new provider was having trouble taking all of them off. Which they then insinuated that my new provider was inept and I should be skeptical. I said, "Okay, well then is there a way I can have Dr. Nguyen take them off anyway?" The office staff told me I could, but I would have to pay an insane hourly rate for the doctor (or staff) to do it. It was such an unreasonable solution presented for a really reasonable request. (By the way, I contacted them about a week after switching offices. I didn't wait months to contact them about this...it was days.) So I still have about 5-10 buttons left on my teeth. All because they use wayyyy too many buttons, and then scoff at other dentists who don't know how to approach that, and leave their previous patients...ME...hanging. read more

I absolutely adore the staff and Dr Nguyen! Not only is their clinic extremely clean and runs very efficiently, this is also just the most wonderful team of healthcare workers I've come across. Dr. Henry and his staff are warm, professional and genuinely caring. I started Invisalign treatment with an expectation of completion within 8 to 10 months. Unfortunately I experienced dental complications that had nothing to do with my Orthodontic treatment. Dr. Henry and his team tolerated all the changes and rolled with it. Dr. Henry is a perfectionist and proved with my treatment he will utilize all the tools of his trade to deliver the best smile possible! Dr Mirna Nguyen and her assistant (I think her name was Jessica, she's blonde sorry!) were EXTREMELY HELPFUL when walking me through my retreatment process. I have had braces before and I wish I had originally got my braces treatment done with Dr Mirna Nguyen and potentially Dr Henry at the time. They gave me a huge wealth of information during our consultations and had tools that no other orthodontists or dentists have. They ran a simulation for me to show me what my retreatment journey would look like and they were so knowledgeable about the process that it helped make my decision so much easier.
