To celebrate my one year anniversary membership to Align, I write this review. I am so happy I found Align! Where has this studio been all my life? Dash and his crew are amazing and take pride in what they provide to the yoga community. The energy is positive and welcoming. Everyone is so supportive and encouraging and yes they will work your ass off but in the best possible way. Quick shout out to having the high energy, amazing instructor Danielle back! What a wonderful way to start off my weekend!! I told my friend who regularly goes to Align Yoga that I'd be there for the Saturday 7:30am Inferno Hot Pilates class with Kristin. Woke up at 7:15am (eeek!) and (thank goodness I live so close!!) still made it in time to get my waiver signed and a quick tour, before putting my things away and heading into the room. Some things to know: -(of course as with any fitness class) try to arrive early to get your things set up! Their studio is open thirty mins before class starts so you can get your things settled. -bring your own mat and a (large) towel! Thankfully if it's your first class they lend you a mat and towel for free, but after your first class you'd rent for $2 I believe it was. -DEFINITELY bring a large water bottle for this class! *insert fire emoji* They have an automatic Brita water filter in the front to fill up your water bottle. I usually carry my glass bottle around with me because I'm picky (lol) but no glass bottles allowed, probably for safety! :) -leave your shoes in the front room. They have locker rooms for men and women, showers with liquid soap/shampoo, and lockers to store your stuff. -I wore a sports bra and super breathable leggings (literally breathable- the fabric + they had a pattern of holes in them for design lol). You'll be DRIPPING with sweat so dress accordingly! I was wearing a tank over my sports bra at first but before class even started I took it off cause I knew it'd heat up even more once we started moving. Might wear yoga shorts next time but leggings were perfectly fine! After I checked in, got a tour, and stored my stuff, I went into the room in the back and immediately was hit with hot air. I had never taken a hot class of anything before so I was a little nervous and had no idea what to expect. I walked in and set up my mat in the back row. I should've maybe chosen a better spot and realized I didn't really space/stagger myself but the students near me were kind enough to adjust their mats to help me fit. I really appreciated the quiet kindness of them! Lol I'll do better next time at that. I looked around and copied everyone else who was starting lying down, quiet, relaxing, then Kristin came in and delivered an AMAZING class! Short intro speech, asked who was new, and got class started right away. I'm a barre teacher, so I was familiar with a lot of the positions and movements we did, but the flow of class was definitely different from what I'm used to! It was pretty much interval training and you totally feel the burn right away. The heat actually helped my muscles feel warmed up right from the start too. About 1/4 of the way through class I realized I was slipping on my mat from ALL. THE. SWEAT. so I placed my towel on top to keep from sliding. We also used a yoga block as equipment which was a nice change from my usual resistance tube, ball, and ballet barre. There were a few times I felt like the heat was getting too much but Kristin did an awesome job of reminding us to listen to our bodies and take a break when needed. I definitely slowed down a few times and sat and watched for a few seconds before jumping back in. I didn't feel any pressure to turn it up or push myself too hard! I love classes where teachers reassure you to listen to your body. I have asthma too so I was a little worried about how that would play out but it didn't bother me at all and the breaks definitely helped. I think next time I might even set up my mat near the door so I can step out for a few seconds, but we'll see how my next class goes! After class ended we were encouraged to take it slow, stay lying down, breathe, drink water, sit up, take it slow, breathe. Definitely a nice and gentle transition out of the room and back into the locker room/front lobby. Overall, LOVED Kristin and her class! She had amazing energy, the class flow was great, music choices awesome, studio was nice and clean, everyone was friendly... I even ended up purchasing a flowy crop top to rep Align Yoga! They also offer two weeks of unlimited classes for $30! I'll definitely be back for more classes. I'm determined to take more IHP classes and see my progression at being able to handle the heat. Tonight I experienced my first sound bath led by Tiffany. The room was cozy and full. Her voice was soothing to the ear as she guided us into meditation. Class was 7:30pm to 8:30pm. Perfect time to unwind and focus on my awareness. The sounds of the bowls combined with other instruments took me to a place of relaxation. I will so be doing this again! I began my fitness journey back in August, hoping for a place that would keep me motivated and help me overcome some past injuries. Align Yoga has met all of my expectations and then some! You can book/cancel your classes and pay from the app. The studio offers a 2-week trial for $50 where you can take an unlimited number of classes. Being new to yoga, I was able to try a variety of classes (Bikram, Flow, Yoga Sculpt, Yin, Hot Fusion, Inferno Hot Pilates, to name a few). I fell in love with how supportive and encouraging all the instructors were. After two weeks, I signed up for unlimited classes. Now, my weekly schedule includes Bikram, Inferno Hot Pilates, and Hot Fusion/Flow. - Dash always takes the time to help with my Bikram form and provides guidance on how I can best practice given my injuries (knee and neck). I have learned so much about my body and I'm amazed at how much better my knee and neck feel. I rarely have issues with them now. - Danielle embodies energy and encouragement. Her Inferno Hot Pilates class is so rewarding. When you're done, you really feel like you can do just about anything! She's great at pushing me to bring my all in each class. I have gotten so much stronger because of her. - I love how Stacie always asks how we feel that day and what areas we want to work on, and then she adjusts her fusion/flow class accordingly. - It's not just the instructors who are encouraging and friendly either. Even the other students make it a joy to come. The community here is welcoming to seasoned yogis or newbies like me. It's very refreshing! The studio itself is clean and very inviting. They meticulously clean the classrooms and equipment after each class. The women's changing room is the same. Clean, modern, has a lot of lockers, and 3 shower stalls with hot water and great water pressure! What's not to love! I have been going to Align since February 2022 and will continue coming as long as Danielle is there! I've taken a lot of yoga, pilates, and group exercise classes in my life, and have never loved an instructor as much as Danielle. She's the best! Her energy, spirit, confidence, and presence in a class are inspiring. Ever since that very first inferno hot pilates class, I have been hooked. It is hard, hot and sweaty, and fast-moving, but I always love the challenge. I never feel as good as I do when leaving the studio. As someone who is quieter, I've usually have never liked being called out in a class, but with Danielle, I welcome it. She's incredibly motivating and always encouraging me to be better, whether by correcting my form or urging me to keeping running when doing mountain climbers. Over the last few years, I've become so much stronger than I was. Unfortunately, I don't live that close to the studio, so I'm not able to come more than once a week. But I always look forward to starting out my weekends with Danielle's inferno hot pilates! I could not recommend it more! read more

Let me start by saying I'm not new to yoga. I've probably taken 100 plus classes elsewhere at probably 10 studios all around the Bay Area. Like most studios they pack them in so your basically doing yoga on top of your neighbor which I get it, your a business and you want to make money, don't worry you will probably always have plenty of customers, being that your right in the middle of thousands of people and there really is a lack of yoga studies in the area. I'm pretty sure they just got the heating elements on the ceiling and let me tell you they work , along with the humidifiers. They actually work so well that about 1/3 of the class stopped doing their practice probably because fear of getting heat stroke and I was not one of them but trust me I felt their pain. This is probably why the instructor felt the need to open the studio door about 20 times to allow for more air flow and for us to hear the other loud class going on. I get it 105 degrees is the norm for bikram but as someone who works in emergency medicine you better make sure everyone signs the waiver before you run a class that is that hot. Pros : not bad instructor seemed to be well versed in bikram yoga Cons: very bright with a view of contra costa blvd- solution get blackout curtains and maybe add a dimmer switch to the room Space this a problem that plagues most studios so ya can't really ding them for that read more

The hardest part of exercising for me is getting there. Danielle flips that and makes it so easy to want to go join her Pilates class. She has so much energy and is so fun! We booked a restorative yoga class for Sunday evening as we are weary travelers and wanted a great restorative "yoga" too stretch, apply pressure and relax (that is the precise definition of respective yoga... use 3 concepts) . We spent $28 each and when she told us at the beginning of class that it would be 3 moves only I was a tad surprised (maybe expecting 5-8) but knew that those moves would surely have all 3 components! We lied on our backs the entire time and the three moves were:right leg resting on a small pillow, left leg on small pillow and flat on back. No muscles were every engaged to stretch and never was any pressure applied. Basically we paid $28 to lie on our back. She spoke the entire class. Also we need props for support and the prop area east with swet from the class before us. The studio smelled like swet and cleaning chemicals. Very off putting and definitely not worth $28 to lie on my back for one hour. Disappointing. Not sure how the other classes are and I have taken restorative all over the country. Absolutely love the classes, the community, and the instructors here. Great variety of classes and times for someone with a busy work schedule! This is not your traditional pilates + Yoga studio, it is incredibly clean, fresh, and well maintained. The people in the classes are welcoming and have great energy - no stigmas or judgment. I started a trial and my first class was great. Kristin was very nice and the class was amazing. She quickly checked me in and gave me a towel. My second class, I went to check in and grab my towel and was told by Dash that I had to pay for it. I said I didn't know that, because I was given a towel during my first class. Rather than offer to charge my card on file or let me finish offering to grab my wallet from the car, she dismissed me. Class was getting full so I grabbed a spot, though I ultimately had to leave because I was sweating too much and afraid I would fall. She then charged me a no show fee, which made me realize that she had the option to charge my card and didn't, and also should have been checking me in and didn't. If you're offering trial packages to get people to join your studio, you should follow that up by communicating your policies well and treating people in a way that would make them want to be there. read more

My new go to spot for yoga. The space is clean, and offers showers, lockers. You can rent mats, and towels, and also purchase refreshments. I've taken the Hot Fusion 60 and Flow 75 classes and have found them both to be relaxing. Above all, the instructors are kind, helpful, and provide an inviting space to everyone. As if their 7 days for $7 new student special wasn't enticing enough, I was a lucky recipient of one free week (thanks to the Whole Foods 365 Grand Opening)! This small local studio offers Flow 75, Hot 90, Hot Fusion 60 and Restorative Meditation. It's easy to register and signup for classes through their website, but the military time format tends to confuse me. I've had a chance to try the Flow 75 and Hot Fusion 60 and LOVED the class size (no more than 10 students), personalized instruction, and overall aesthetic of the studio. So clean and calming! I also enjoyed the use of upbeat music in the Hot Fusion class, it helped pull me through the intense heat. Natural light and mirrors are another plus! There are full locker rooms with showers available for men and women and locks are available upon request. They even have healthy snacks from Urban Remedy and kombucha available to purchase - as well as yoga apparel and accessories. Align Yoga was the cure for my aching back. After 4 months of Bikram and Hot Pilates classes, 3 to 4 times per week, I am now able to work all weekend in the yard, lift and move 50 lb objects without repercussions. Danielle is the best! Her Inferno Hot Pilates class really changed me, both mentally and physically. I have never been a person who sticks at something, especially when it comes to exercises! The class is challenging but Danielle makes it easier with her energy and humor. She cares about members, remembers all the names, and always makes sure us to workout in correct posture (which is very important to work out more effectively). This studio is fantastic! It has such an open, friendly and positive vibe. It offers a nice variety of classes from super chill Yin Yoga to high intensity Pilates. I joined 9 months ago and have seen improvements in my strength, flexibility, balance and cardio condition. All the instructors are great but I've got to give a special shout out to Danielle Raab who is just downright incredible! She brings it - on every level! Her Inferno Hot Pilates classes are super challenging but she makes it super fun. Danielle really gets to know all her students and meet them where they're at. Students in her classes range from buff young men to older ladies like myself. She helps us focus on correct form so we don't injure ourselves and teaches us how to challenge ourselves to get the most from our workout. The yoga coaching was great. But something you have to beware of. I have tried a first class at this place, a Flow class. The weather was 105f outside in mid-afternoon, I couldn't imagine the staff just arrived the studio 15mins before the class, and the AC just turned on 10 mins before the exercise. The studio was super hot, full house of students, lack of oxygen, felt difficulty in breathing when door closed once class started. After exercising, I felt heavily headache and short breath whole night, discomfort till next day, felt like a heat stroke. I have read the introduction before taking the class. The class I taken was Flow, should be in 80-90f. It was not a hot or HF yoga, but feeling like hot yoga over 100f!!! Because of the studio staff didn't turn on AC earlier enough to cool down the place that it should be. So please beware your medical condition, coz we can get heat stroke even indoor. Make sure you drink water keep hydrated and stay in right temperature even exercising. read more

I've been practicing for 17 years and practiced in other of studios whenever I travel. In the bay area, I was a regular at El Cerrito Yoga, Oakland, Mission Yoga studios. I consider Align Yoga studio to be the gold standard. If I could give more than 5 stars to this studio I would. It's clean and bright yet still welcoming. It's also a reflection of the owner, Dash. It's obvious that he cares about the studio and wants to cultivate a happy and healthy community of practitioners. Best of all, Dash is a charismatic and knowledgeable teacher who pushes you to achieve more while still being aware of your body limitations. I feel like the other practitioners who practice regularly here really make an effort to help maintain the studio. Everyone seems respectful and the vibe is super positive. There are two practice rooms and I've only practiced in the room in the far end. With windows on one side, there is natural light during the morning class. The floor is not carpet but some type of hypoallergenic textile. It prevents odors so there's no smell that many people may associate with hot yoga. The women's changing room is like the rest of the studio, immaculate and modern. Practicing in the time of COVID made me kind of nervous but the owner, Dash implements the rigorous public health standards, masking when mandated, and with constant and continuous cleaning and disinfecting. This boutique yoga studio is very clean and the yoga, specially the hot Bikram yoga instruction is very good. Beginner friendly, but yogis at this studio are quite determined to practice with enthusiasm. Highly recommend to try and stick to it. For me it took more than 10 classes to get used to the heat. Enjoyed my instructor Kent. However, strongly disliked that before class took place (as people were getting into the zone in silence, laying down in silence, adjusting to the heat in silence -get my drift?) Other attendees constantly and loudly held conversations in the studio. DISRESPECTFUL- if you want to talk about summer camps, little league baseball please have that and ALL other conversations OUTSIDE of the studio. The whole practice of yoga is to mediate, focus on yourself and be one with your body. How can anyone do that when motor mouth is flapping their gums in the studio. Nonetheless, the establishment has make and female locker rooms. They have clothing, drinks for sale. Female locker room has three shower stalls, three toilet stalls, double sinks, blow dryer, and plenty of lockers. The locks are free in exchange for car keys, the mats are $1 to "rent." The studios have hard wood floors, which I am use to carpeted floors during Bikram. So the hard wood was a little intimidating considering how much you sweat and seeing puddles of it on the floor. I took the 3pm bikram class with Eddie Squire and I could not have been more disappointed/ frustrated with this instructor. Yoga is suppose to be rejuvenating, relaxing and your own practice in regard to what your body needs. This instructor did not provide any of the above. He walked into the class and very loudly began talking to one of the male students. The class began and I immediately felt like I was at an auction. The way he spoke and yelled for the entire 90min of the class was far from relaxing. He spoke so fast and SO MUCH. There was barely any explanation of the poses for the people who were new and when someone did something wrong he was very rude in correcting them. Instead of quietly correcting the person he yelled it out for the entire class. He also preceded to say "listen to me, I am the instructor. You need to work on your listening skills". He kept saying "good listening". We are all adults not children, I didn't sign up for this class to be scolded and talked down to. During every chebastna he proceeded to just talk the entire time about random non relevant things. That is suppose to be a time to rejuvenate in between poses and to let your mind rest, but there was non of that. He spoke 100 words a min and it was not relaxing at all. To finish it all off, during the spine strengthening series he kept correcting the class that they were exhaling through their mouth and proceeded to say " I have some tape in the front if anyone needs their mouth taped". EXCUSE ME! people can breath any way they want! Who are you to tell them otherwise. I have been doing Bikram classes for 15 years, along with multiple other yoga classes and this has got be the worse experience with a instructor I have every had. The studio in itself is very nice, although the rooms are very bright and the sun shines in your eyes. But this instructor has got to go! read more

I have been practicing yoga for over 10 years and I have called Align Yoga my home studio for the past 2 years now. It is my favorite studio. Dash the owner has fostered a wonderful community of yoga enthusiasts who make coming to the studio and practicing together a joyful and spiritual experience. I always leave the studio feeling rejuvenated, clear minded and thankful that I practiced with such great teachers and students. The studio itself is pristine thanks to Dash's commitment to keeping everything clean and updated. They painstakingly clean the studios after every class, and the facilities are unlike your typical gym locker room and more like something you may find at a fancy hotel. I started strictly as a Bikram student but the other classes offered, like Hot Pilates and Yin Yoga, have been a great complement to my practice and provide a nice balance in my training. I love this place! I am a beginner and have been looking for a yoga studio that was close to home and had a wide range of packages or membership fees that wouldn't break the bank. Enter Align Yoga! Such a fun and friendly place. Very welcoming and as a new student to yoga, I've never felt out of place. The teachers are very patient and assist you with permission. I also love that they have a 10 class package that is good for a year. If you have an unpredictable schedule as I do, It is a nice option. The instructor was so nice ( can't remember your name) but she would gently correct you and wouldn't make you feel embarrassed. Rooms are HOT HOT HOT!
