I am writing this review 6 days (Nov. 25, 2015 *2:20PM*) after I had a car accident with an Empowered customer that left my vehicle undrivable(Nov. 19 *~6PM*). My review and rating may change depending on how my experience goes with them. Nov. 25 *2:00PM* - So far the experience I have had with Empowered has not been good. I called the morning after the accident (Nov. 20 *~11AM*) and was confirmed that they had already received a claim from their client and were looking into it. They gave me a phone number to contact and I left a voice message asking to call me back and what I should do next. I never received a call back and had called for 2 business days before finally speaking to someone. The person I spoke to did not seem to have any idea about even the basic information about the claim and it seemed that he had not reviewed it at all. He said they could not look at my car until I took it from the towing company, which I simply cannot do because I am a broke college student without any means to tow it away myself. Everyone I have talked to has said that insurance companies always visit the towing companies to review the damages and have been advised to leave it there to pressure Empowered to do something or else they will likely take their time while it sits at my home. Since they have already tried to ignore me, this seems like the only option to go with. I cant even take the car away from the towing company to begin with. The claims officer that I talked to also said that they need to review the police report to see who was at fault and they would contact me when they find out. I went to the police station today and their statement reads that their client was at fault for not yielding right of way. It took me about 20 minutes to walk to the station and request it. I do not understand why it has taken them so long. I called them about an hour ago and was told that they would call me back in 20 minutes. Still no one has called me. My car was left undrivable and I was not even offered a rental. I have missed hours of work and have had to skip classes because of this and will not be able to spend Thanksgiving with my family because I have no means to drive to the airport. I am extremely upset at the moment. After reading other reviews on here, I doubt I will even get a portion of what it will take to repair my vehicle. Nov. 25 *3:39PM* - Called back after waiting over an hour for them to call me back. Was told to wait for my claims officer later today or tomorrow. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, so I doubt I will receive a call. I had plans to spend the holiday with my family but without any transportation that will not be possible. I am already getting screwed with student loans, it sucks that I may also get screwed by this insurance company as well, even when the police report itself says that I am not at fault. read more

I never sit down to my keyboard and submit reviews. Today I felt compelled to share this in hopes that it sends up red flags to any potential Alinsco Insurance policy holders, that they pay heed, turn around and run away from this company as fast as possible. I have held an auto policy with Alinsco Insurance since March 2026. Recently I found myself filing a comprehensive claim for one of our insured vehicles. Upon filing this claim I became aware of the Alinsco policy that if a claim is filed within the first 60 days of a new policy, the deductible will be twice the amount shown on your declarations page. So, my $1000 deductible is now costing me $2000 for a $3500 claim. To add salt to the wound I have been unable to make contact with anyone from the Fort Worth agency. I call, no one ever answers the phone. I then leave voice mails, I have yet to receive a return call. I have questions without forthcoming answers and seemingly no way to obtain said answers. I have a submitted payment by check, for my doubled deductible extortion level because we can charge, that is seemingly just blowing about willy-nilly in the wind. I have yet to be informed of confirmation of said payment being received, of notification that the remaining $1500 has been mailed to my attention or that it has been sent to a selected repair shop. I am in limbo, blowing about willy-nilly in the wind, much like my check. I implore anyone who is considering becoming a customer of Alinsco Insurance to not make the same mistake I made. I have told my family members, my friends and acquaintances, my customers, the man next to me in line at the grocery store, my tale of wretched customer service at the hands of Alinsco. I am shouting from the figurative mountaintops to be afraid, very afraid. You will pay handsomely for coverage, you will be ghosted once you pay your first premium. They are not my insurance company, they are the insurance company of the guy that hit our car. At first not too bad to deal with but, then the delays started, no communication, no response to email/voicemails. You will probably not like this company if you ever have to deal with them. They only reimburse towing, rental, etc., after the fact. You are expected to pay that up front and then send them receipts. And, the estimate they provided is clearing something that were in the pictures they used. read more

My wife got rear-ended by an Alinsco policy holder while my baby daughter was also in the car. It's very difficult to reach one of their agents. After several calls and voicemails, they lowballed us on the estimate. Only offers to send a check to us. After much more time invested to research this, they admit they only pay up to $50/hr for labor and the rest we have to pay out of pocket. WORST AUTO INSURANCE EVER! If you ever get hit by an Alinsco policy holder, make sure you get the driver's contact information and their ID, in addition to their insurance info. Also you may have to work with your own insurance to negotiate. read more

So far it's impossible to get someone to call you back. When you file a claim against somebody that they insure, somebody ran a red light hit me and I can't get my equipment or my truck fixed. For some reason, these people are slow playing Everything. Terrible insurance company, terrible everything they don't call you back. They sent me a letter saying that I'm not replying. I've called them twelve to fifteen times they haven't responded to me. I think this insurance company though scam a joke and i'm about to hire an attorney. read more

BEWARE! If you must deal with Alinsco Insurance, Beware and retain an attorney before you file a claim. Their insured rear-ended my car. I called multiple reputable repair shops and neither would accept this insurance. They failed to return phone calls, and after two weeks requested additional information and duplicate photos to complete their investigation. ​They only approved used and OEM parts (including parts that require new parts due to safety requirements) without regard to the year or type of vehicle. I had to pay out-of-pocket retail rates for a rental. They don't have a relationship with any rental company. Only. After escalating to a manger did I receive reimburesment one month after submitting the rental receipt. They deemed my car totaled and deducted fr​om my settlement costs charged to th​em by the repair shop for the multiple and duplicate items requested for their investigation and storage fees incurred due to their delay in approving any work on my car. In my opinion Alinsco Insurance is a scam company. My advice-Beware and be Represented! read more

I filed an auto insurance claim on 11/19/2024 after being rear-ended by a vehicle insured by Alinsco. I was able to file the claim right away and given the name a direct phone number for my adjuster. I uploaded photos of my vehicle at their request. Tomorrow it will have been 4 weeks since my claim was filed. I have spoken with my adjuster one time after calling almost daily for updates. He was waiting on a phone number I was able to give him right away. It has now been almost two weeks since that call and I have yet to get a call back. I've left multiple messages both with my adjuster and the general claims service mailbox. Not a single message has been returned. read more

I got an estimate from the dealer, these bottom feeders low balled my estimate for around $700. They wouldn't provide me a rental car, claimed they only paid $19 for a rental, daily fee. Had I rented a car, I would've been subject to their rules for payment, they go by their Podunk town rates which are low & I would have to file an appeal to get the difference. My daughter was hit by a driver who was not even the insured but was a friend or something of the insured. The insured was using Alinsco. The driver came into my daughter's lane and hit her broadside with the front bumper of the Alinsco insured vehicle. The driver admitted to causing the accident and the police showed up and took statements saying that they Alinsco insured vehicle struck my daughter's vehicle. The amount of damage was less than $5,000. I opened a claim with them and they denied it stating that there is no way to determine who's liable. I then filed a small claim against the insured. Their attorney (M. Nathan Barbera) of ALBIN OLDNER LAW, PLLC filed a motion asking for a jury trial. Of course, they want to go to court over a few thousand. I"m getting an attorney out of principle. As others have said, if you are hit by someone with this insurance you will face difficulty. read more

HORRIBLE, DOESN'T DESERVE EVEN A ONE STAR!!!! I was hit by someone insured by this company in August 2019. My vehicle was drivable, but other vehicle wasn't. Needless to say, the whole process took FOREVER because Alinsco said someone was a witness, but they couldn't get ahold of them. I don't remember a witness ever being at the scene of accident. Apparently to them, this witness was a deciding factor even though police report clearly stated that other vehicle was at fault. 3 weeks later, turned into 4 weeks because no one would call me back. I spoke to a supervisor and asked what was the delay? The supervisor said that it was important to speak to the witness because this could show I was at fault. I argued that police report showed who was at fault, plus other driver was issued citations for accident and no driver license. I then asked how many times have y'all called this witness? The supervisor said it's been documented 35 times with no answer, WTF!!! I said how many more calls do you have to make to determine this WITNESS really isn't a witness? Finally the supervisor said lets move forward and take responsibility. I was told that I could take my truck anywhere to fix it, but if repair shop was more than their (Alinsco) estimate, it would be out of my own pocket.....WTF!!!! I took my vehicle to a GMC dealership and when I spoke to the body shop the estimator ask what insurance company will be taking responsibility for repairs? I said Alinsco......I SWEAR, he said, sir your screwed, this is a cheap insurance company and they don't want to pay anything. He told me that based on his experience everyone that makes repairs with this company has difficultly. ********DON'T USE THAT DUMB ESTIMATOR APP THEY TELL YOU, REQUEST A PHYSICAL ESTIMATE****** I shit you not, Alinsco sent over an estimate after I listen to them and took photos from some dam App they have of my damages. The estimate was based on the photos only and never had an adjusted physically inspect my vehicle. I had damage underneath that the photos would not show. They searched for a used bed for truck at a junk yard near by my zip code and said that is all we are going to pay. HELL NA FOOL.....after several back and fourth calls with supervisor, I was approved for a new bed. As many of you, I was told to rent my own car while vehicle was being repaired and then send the bill afterwards for reimbursement.......BUT not to rent anything over $25 a day because I would have to pay the difference. We filed a police report the day of the accident and the officer took down everyone information. A rep called us to ask us what happened. They called us back and said that they cannot file a claim because the person with their insurance "canceled" and has not paid since October 27th. This is false. The officer took down EVERYONES Information Including their insurance information. I have paid this office monthly all these years with no claims. they stopped my insurance this month with no phone call no email nothing, they said my bank declined so i need to start a new policy for extra 50 a month. so 150 for liability. Worst insurance company ever they don't respond to emails, voicemails or even when they say we will call back they don't! Alinsco does everything possible to not pay. Then when they are forced to pay the claim they send a check for a small portion of the repair cost not made payable to the body shop. They do not include rental car expenses leaving you walking while repairs are made. My daughter purchased a policy on 04/20/17. Made her down payment then today 04/24/17 was told that the policy, which was originally quoted at $1817 would be $5866.16. She called to request to cancel the policy and receive a refund of her down payment. She called Empower and they told her to call the agent.... complete runaround. She spoke to the agent and now she has to go into the office to cancel the policy that she purchased online and present two forms of id.... the kicker... the office is only open Monday - Friday 8 am to 5pm. Since she has a job working the same hours that is nearly impossible for her to do. She's young... I was trying to let her handle purchasing insurance on her own for the first time. BIG MISTAKE! To Troy M of Empower Insurance Group: What you stated is correct, in that I am not a client of Empower. I am a client of State Farm who was hit by a client of Empower. But that had already been stated in my two reviews. Did you bother to read either of them before posting your comment? You statement, "due to no police report" is false, and your records should show it. I filed a report with the sheriff office immediately after the accident, and submitted a copy as part of my with my claim submissions to Empower. The report has dates, times and signatures. Unfortunately, your client fled the scene immediately after the accident your client caused. The report includes a statement detailing why there were no independent witnesses. People were not about to slow down, much less stop, for us and further jam rush hour traffic that backed up all lanes for about half a mile. Why should they? Your client hardly even bothered to do so. (Not before I took copious photos, though!) Nobody disputes, or has ever disputed, that "An insurance company has the right to investigate the claim, obtain the facts of loss from all parties involved, and based on the objective evidence gathered make a decision regarding coverage and liability," or that "This is also required by law in the state of Texas." So why did you bother to make these statements? "Empower received a letter from the third party complainant's insurance company stating they were seeking reimbursement for the payments made to the third party complainant.  Empower confirmed the claimant carrier  is taking care of the damages to the claimants vehicle and a subrogation demand will be presented. The conclusion of the claim is pending the third party complainant's auto insurance company submission of their final subrogation demand." In other words, and final update: Empower caved to State Farm when they threatened to sue for damages. I ultimately received restitution, that the experience of others indicates I would otherwise not have gotten. I found out yesterday that a relative has been going through almost exactly the same thing. Empower gave her $1800 for a similar side strike. My bill was over $4100. I told her what to do. Her collision shop has been going to bat for her against Empower as well. It's unfortunate that there are people out there who make all this time-wasting necessary, of whom it could be said that it would be better if they--or their companies, anyway--did not exist. read more

I was hit from behind by one of their clients. From the very start, the man I spoke with was professional and courteous when I called to open the claim. I downloaded the app to take photos of my car, which the adjuster received immediately. Within a few days, I had my check and was getting my car repaired. They even reimbursed me for a car rental. I was skeptical because I had never heard of this company, but in the end, pleasantly surprised. read more

I have been with Alinsco for several years but this latest interaction has been fraught with delays. First it was No, don't drive over here I will overnight it. Then it was Well I approved it for overnight. After that it was Well it has not been sent but I will do it in the morning. Now it is I sent it overnight on Friday with a Saturday delivery. Today is Monday and still nothing. The claims manager (Troy) refuses to provide me with contact information for his superior. 12 days in and nothing, absolutely nothing. My adjuster has been impossible to reach after I filed a claim. I have called and emailed multiple times. The appraiser was pretty testy when I asked him about the next steps in the process, since I hadn't heard from my adjuster in the time frame he gave me. Dealt with them under the name of FREEWAY INSURANCE SERVICES INC. We were given incorrect information over the phone to make a sale. Once documents were signed: A) We could not contact the agent who made the sale, despite the fact that she said that we would be able to. B) Promises made over the phone were roundly denied. C) We wound up paying more than twice as much as expected and several hours trying to straighten things out. D) To avoid being charged 3 times as much, we had to double our deductible. Conclusion: Avoid at all costs. We feel like such fools to have taken them at their word. read more

"Theft" Insurance, or should I say, "Thieves" Insurance. Their client who rear-ended my daughter two months ago, exited her car and immediately said, "Let's not call the police on this." It was drizzling rain and major traffic jam already due to congestion, so my daughter and her friend exchanged information, obtaining photographs of ID's and damage, even this client's Ins. ID card which had an unusual name for a Company... "Zillion Services." What?!?!? That's an Insurance company? Well, lucky us, it's connected to Empower and Alinsco Insurance companies. We not only lost the use of this car, we could not afford to rent a car out of our own pocket for them to reimburse later. They would not even pay for adequate rental if we had. They wanted to give a quick estimate and check for repairs, of which they reviewed a second time at our discretion, only to total the vehicle. Now we lost the car. We lost the use of and the resource of owning now. Their offers to repair were ridiculous to begin with, now the offer to buy as a total was even more insane. After an additional appeal, they were willing to give us a little more, but what this company does not understand is "life lived for normal humans beings." Unfortunate, misfortune, nightmare, you name it. Empower has not only given us emotional disquiet and duress through these proceedings, we have been treated as the ones at fault. It was not our fault the accident occurred, it is not our fault we lost our good vehicle, it is not our fault that we still do not have the use of a valuable vehicle to us (not them), and yet we are the ones paying for this accident with our loss and continued disparaging contact with Empower. We have lost on so many fronts with this accident and communication with Empower it is almost comical that they operate as a business, but that's at least Empower insurance for ya. Steer clear of doing business with them, and steer clear of areas where you know an Empower Insurance business resides. read more

Absolute nightmare to get an an accident with someone insured by Empower. Impossible to get ahold of, unresponsive when you do, and painfully slow to react. Took over a month to even get someone at Empower to return my phone calls asking for a new damage inspection after their initial assessment underestimated costs by more than $2,000. The body shop even tried multiple times to get a hold of Empower since they wouldn't answer me and the shop was holding my car without being able to work on it. I had to file a new claim with my own insurance to get some help dealing with Empower, which still didn't speed things up cause what can they do if they can't get a response either? Making everything even more annoying was the fact that the injury adjuster was the complete opposite-getting everything taken care of immediately- since it's in their best interest to settle before longer-term injuries come to light. I am still waiting to be reimbursed for a $3,000+ rental car bill, almost 4 months after the accident.
